The Pink Panther was a great cartoon and a classic one and as for the movie versions:

When it comes to playing Inspector Clouseau, no one was better than the late Peter Sellers, no disrespect to Steve Martin, but Peter had class when it came to Clouseau

and also, the late Henry Mancini did a great job with the theme

Now can you imagine if other Tenor Sax Greats like Scheila Gonzalez and Jessy J did this song?

You guys, the original Pink Panther used to be a series of detective-comedy movies played by real actors.

It was about a man with the nickname 'the pink panther' that would solve strange mysteries and crimes which where mostly humorous in nature.

The cartoon-movie with the iconic pink panther appeared a bit later.

People complaining about the movie having nothing to do with the actual panther, do not know that it doesn't parody the cartoon show, but the series of movies.

@XFanmarX that's not quite right there, in the movies the 'pink panther' was a diamond. the inspector was named clouseau and was played by peter sellers. the diamond would be stolen and the bumbling clouseau would find it. the cartoons came from the opening sequences of the movies in which the cartoon panther made his appearence as the credits rolled and this theme played. a short time later they appeared on Sat. mornings. and that is how it happened. I was around then--sorry wiki.
