I like this movie even though it had that ship in a bottle feel and was less grand than I was expecting it still held up as a separate chapter in the Borg as a threat to the Federation. Maybe they'll make one were the true threat of the Borg can finally be witnessed it's clear the producers are holding back (YEAH I KNOW BORG ASSIMILATE END OF THE FRANCHISE I GET BUT COME ON THERE IS ALWAYS THE ALTERNATE TIMELINE!) Okay just an opinion don't blow a gasket folks contain the insults to yourself!

Nemesis was the worst shit i have ever seen. and dont even mention the stupid Star trek: motion pictures, that shit sucked with the crew. the only good character was Spock....hell barcly was better than most of the crew....
@TruthfulPaper I rather liked this trailer. It gets the point across. The real failures are the other trailers for treks 7, 9, and 10, which fight against boredom to make bad movies look watchable.
Cochrane created the franchise's main quote (ENT: Broken Bow) the franchise's name (Here) and the franchise's main engine type (Here). What he will create next?
A clever and masterful trailer...choppy in parts, but it hits all the right notes and it still sends chills down my spine. By the way, extra points for using the "Wrath of Khan" theme. Just perfect. Always loved that. And yes, this movie was electrifying in the theater.
I just watched an episode of Enterprise titled "Regeneration." Now I know the show doesn't have the best standing in the Trek universe, but if you liked First Contact, you should definitely watch that episode.
So what you're saying is that the borg, a species with literally hudreds of thousands of ships, invade the federation! The heart of the federation (earth) with only one ship?! And time travel right in front of earth, when they could time traveled a 1000 light years away.
Hands down the best TNG movie. The best story, best action and its faithful to the series. Its great that Frakes actually knows and enjoys the franchise unlike some other directors *cough cough* Abrams *cough cough*
Just watched this movie for the first time today, and holy crap, it was actually really freaky. awesome movie, but I ain't going to lie, the Borg scare the shit out of me. they're almost too badass.
@tjbayliss i know man, like with expendables, it showed Arnold in the trailer, so you expected him to be their. just imagine seeing him show up in the movie.
I know a lot of people dont like/hate the J.J. Abrams one but if it wasnt for that one I would not have become a Star Trek fan, I have gone and watched most of the old movies (except for 2 of them), and I have watched most of the original series and Generations, and some of the Bakula series episodes. The new movie introduced more people to ST, and I thought it was very good and payed homage to the past of the series plus it had some nice inside jokes I didnt get the first time I watched it :-)
@f00tbol agreed, for me i liked the universe but had plenty of issues with it. I do agree that if a franchise is to survive it has to evolve. when "The Next Generation" was released tons of people hated it and would not except it, but it caught on and introduced the franchise to the next generation of viewers. Different times different mentality different filming styles, different/more viewers I fully support the new style and what ever they bring next. As long as its a decent movie.
@Baseshocks Thanks, you have some very good points also, i like The Next Generation series as much as the original, and in some cases more, hopefully the next ST movie is as decent as the last one ---V---
@f00tbol Majority of people love/ like the J.J. Abrams one. It's just hardcore Trek fans that like to bitch about how it's not like the orginal series. Of course it's not it's a reboot.
I wud say First contact is one of the best Trek films, but i do really like Generations also. The start of First Contact is awesome tho, I like this small war that ensues at that start. But I wish they wud make a Star Trek film, where we see full use of the whole Federation. I mean all their fleet, all the ships, instead of the movie always only centered arnd the one famous ship Enterprise.
@CaptDouchebag U seem really bothered by this mate. U reply 2 me and dont even mention anything about what I have indeed commented on (a Star Trek film), instead your reply is purely and only focused on the fact I shortened a word down (through a habit of mine), instead of using the Queen's English??" lol
@CaptDouchebag Well thanks! now after all that, Im actually interested in what you think of "Star Trek" in general. D u like it at all? u have a favorite Trek film??
@RaikenXion I simply ADORE VI. It's really the only one I can get all the way through without skipping some stuff, but I also love numbers II, and III. The others are just "meh," but the new one was pretty good, too. VI was the first one I ever saw in theaters. Everything is great about it; the score, the directing, the acting- they're all top-notch.
@CaptDouchebag The Undiscovered Country?? yeh I will say that is a pretty good Trek film, quite underrated even. I can actually c y u favor that film, the story is more toned down, its not the usual crew saving the galaxy from some big evil enemy. But actually deals with the Idea of old rivals trying to make peace, corruption with the real "baddie" being one of the Federation so yeh quite different. But also I guess that we all mostly take to the first thing we experienced.
Just watching the trailer gives me chillbumps. I love this movie! And yes, I've seen the Pizza Roll Guy's review of this film, and would agree that it isn't flawless, but I think he really overlooks some of its strengths which more than outweigh its weaknesses.
The second best movie of the Star Trek Movie series, this had good acting, a great story that looks like a Dr. Who story and the Enterprise E. Apart from Wrath of Khan this is the best Star Trek Movie, so far.

Hey Everyone should check out my Youtube Video ALIEN V.S STAR TREK PREDATOR it's really random star trek, if you like random star trek you'll like the video
@ph0cyl the music is from Star Trek the Motion Picture, the first movie from 1979. I'm pretty sure it's the part when you first see the V'ger cloud. I can find a link where it's from if you really need to know.
@ph0cyl Lol hate to have a nerd battle but I'm not wrong give me a lil bit and I'll link you up, I should know I own all the sounds tracks on CD and used lots of the music in my own films I've made.
All credit to Channel 4(Television channel in Britain) to have shown all the feature films from the Motion Picture 1979 to "Nemesis" 2003 on 10 consecutive Saturdays.
Now this weekend, they are showing them all 10 films over 2 days!!!!
I found the Abrams' Star Trek VERY disappointing. But, my opinion is no better or worse than yours. They're just opinions. We all have them, we all have the right to express them and we must all learn to accept them, otherwise we may not make it to the 23rd century. ;)
@Bla31n I'm not taking sides here, and I haven't found it prickly at all, don't take it 2 heart, people should chum up nowadays instead of wrangling over trite issues. I'll take u as a youtube friend

@budabudimir3 perfect themselves by seizing upon other's freedom? I know that's a movie, but I stand against Machiavelli overall, anyway, that's me and I don't own the truth.
My problems with this movie: They don't explain anything about the new Enterprise E. Enterprise D was destroyed in Generations and now we suddenly have a new ship. I'd like to hear a little bit about her. Just saying. My other problem is the whole time travel thing is just glossed over. They go to the past. How? They don't seem very concerned about possibly being stuck a few hundred years in the past. Then at the end, they just go back. No biggie.
@EscpdFrmPsykward they used the same method as the Borg I believe and there is quite a bit on the Sovereign class Enterptise E on the Star Trek Encylopeadia and the Star Trek website if you're interested but when you're doing a movie you can't really go into too much detail because they have to concentrate on the story
@sjsharp2007 Of course they used the same method as the Borg, but honestly, how strange is that? The Borg can go back in time to fuck around with whatever they wish at will? That whole movie, hell, the whole franchise could be over rather quickly if that were true. Why didn't they just do that in the first place instead of sending a Cube in the present and using the Sphere time travel plan as a back up just in case Starfleet blew up the Cube? It's a little stupid no matter how you slice it.
@EscpdFrmPsykward to be honest though the Borg didn't see the Federation as a threat until the 24th century which is when we (the Federation had the ability and the Technology to defend ourserlves had they tried this back in Best of Both Worlds the Borg would have beaten us looks like we just got lucky
@sjsharp2007 All the same, once they realized a threat the Federation posed to them, you think they would have busted out the time travel plan around the time Voyager was kicking ass all the way through the Delta Quadrant. lol.
@EscpdFrmPsykward perhaps but ermember they were also fighting a war with species 8472 at tha ttime perhaps they felt fighting a war on 2 fronts would have been futile besideslet's not forget we only showed up they were the ones who considered us a threat
I watched this yesterday probs the most creepy and exciting. No but really it's AMAZING

@StampsPixDotCom Thanks man but you're wrong. I checked all ST OST's and nothing... it's probably a simple "trailer score".
I just love its awesome sounds. Too bad.

@ph0cyl Lol hate to have a nerd battle but I'm not wrong give me a lil bit and I'll link you up, I should know I own all the sounds tracks on CD and used lots of the music in my own films I've made.

Mr. Abrams, please take note: THAT is how you do a Star Trek movie.

@mngentry I beg to differ.

@Bla31n
Differ all you'd like, my friend.
I found the Abrams' Star Trek VERY disappointing. But, my opinion is no better or worse than yours. They're just opinions. We all have them, we all have the right to express them and we must all learn to accept them, otherwise we may not make it to the 23rd century. ;)

@mngentry I have no quarrel with you, friend.

@Bla31n it's reassuring to see you guys make up after a bit of a quarrel.I agree with @mngentry, ones overall must "always" be taking into account

The Borg would like Machiavelli ( famous quote : the end justifies the means ), they are just trying to be perfect.
budabudimir3 1 year ago

No biggie.
With that in mind, still my favorite ST movie.
EscpdFrmPsykward 1 year ago
@EscpdFrmPsykward they used the same method as the Borg I believe and there is quite a bit on the Sovereign class Enterptise E on the Star Trek Encylopeadia and the Star Trek website if you're interested but when you're doing a movie you can't really go into too much detail because they have to concentrate on the story
sjsharp2007 1 year ago
@sjsharp2007 Of course they used the same method as the Borg, but honestly, how strange is that? The Borg can go back in time to fuck around with whatever they wish at will? That whole movie, hell, the whole franchise could be over rather quickly if that were true. Why didn't they just do that in the first place instead of sending a Cube in the present and using the Sphere time travel plan as a back up just in case Starfleet blew up the Cube? It's a little stupid no matter how you slice it.
EscpdFrmPsykward 1 year ago
@EscpdFrmPsykward to be honest though the Borg didn't see the Federation as a threat until the 24th century which is when we (the Federation had the ability and the Technology to defend ourserlves had they tried this back in Best of Both Worlds the Borg would have beaten us looks like we just got lucky
sjsharp2007 1 year ago
@sjsharp2007 All the same, once they realized a threat the Federation posed to them, you think they would have busted out the time travel plan around the time Voyager was kicking ass all the way through the Delta Quadrant. lol.
EscpdFrmPsykward 1 year ago
@EscpdFrmPsykward perhaps but ermember they were also fighting a war with species 8472 at tha ttime perhaps they felt fighting a war on 2 fronts would have been futile besideslet's not forget we only showed up they were the ones who considered us a threat
