um no, in the movie her herself dose not do any jumps apart from split jumps. I ripper the skating scenes to my computer, imported it into iMovie and put the jumps into slow motion, well its not her doing the jumps, its her double!

Well, she did everything (Kirsten Olsen) but her double did her triples, but the other chick, Zoey Block, i have forgottenwho plays her, but she didnt use a doudle and she basically just did Doubles. Her flying sit spin was pretty cool

Yep, I'm a skater, too, as I assume you figured out from the comment on my jump video. I started relatively late (didn't take my first set of tests until I was 14), so I never competed at qualifying events like Kirsten does. I just got my double flip and double lutz consistent in my 20's.

I still hear from Kirsten once in a while. I've been meaning to email her. . .did you hear she won Upper Great Lake Regionals last week? I've been meaning to say congrats. :)  Do you skate?

She was 8, so I would've been about 15 or 16 (probably around 1999 or 2000). She has one older brother, and that's it. I just remember being stuck on Novice moves when she started testing. . .she was through senior moves before I managed to pass Novice! She has a lot of talent, and I'm wishing her well this season. If I remember correctly, she's skating to Schindler's List for the SP and Libertango again for the Long. . .at least that's what she was practicing this summer. :P

J'ai patine'e avec Kirsten a' Dakotah Sport & Fitness, mais je sais qu'elle e'tait a' Bloomington apres ca (quand j'e'tais a' l'universite'). c'est vrai que Kirsten pouvait faire les "double jumps" quand elle e'tait dans le film (et probabelement le double axel aussi. . .peut-etre une triple ou deux). Elle a appris (learned? desole'e. . .j'oublie ce mot) les triples tres vite apres ce film, si mes souvenirs sont vrai.

well good luck w/ moves! i got to intermediate, and quit just after landing my double toe and salchow. Actually it was the toe that did me in, i kept twisting wrong and then ended up taking a month off, coming back, and quitting. (plus the rink was going in a direction i didn't like, but that's something else)

yeah, lori was great! i started with mary, and was with her the whole time i skated, but started taking lessons w/ lori a few years ago.

I taught Kirsten way back when she was in beginning lessons, and I've tried to keep in touch with her and her family through the years (harder now that I've moved away from Minnesota). I still write to her occasionally and usually get a card from her Mom around the holidays. I'm in awe of her skating and of how far she's come in so little time, and I like to joke that I'm her original, number 1 fan.

I believe she's skating to "Libertango" in this program.

If it helps at all, I know for a fact Kirsten had a double for her jumps (of course, her spins were her own, since she's an amazing spinner). I know her fairly well, and I remember her father mentioning that Danielle Kahle was used as her stunt double. Of course, now she's got all those triples on her own, so she wouldn't need a double anymore if she were ever to reprise her role in "Ice Princess 2". Somehow I don't see Disney making that sequel, though. ;)

i keep watching her in ice princess she was good! well she practiced the ice princess routines again and again since it was a movie and if she made mistakes fliming it they could redo it. here she has one chance to get it perfect! watch from 2:47 til the end wow i think she did great!!!!

Kirsten also had a stunt double during "Ice Princess" because she couldn't do all of her triples during the movie (Danielle Kahle was her stunt double). She's a beautiful skater and an amazing jumper (I've seen her land triple lutz-triple toe combos during practice). I'd kill for her spins, too. . .she's like a little top.  I'm guessing she just had a bad skating day (although she was still pretty good. . .nice double axel, triple toe, and triple lutz combo).
