The only Priest track I like better than this is Steeler. Does this have Glam influence? Sure, but if so, Priest made the best Glam Metal song. Rob's vocals at the end and Glenn's solo and licks made this, imo, the best lesser known Priest song.
Sucks they've never played this live once, they need to perform this for their final world tour, though Rob may not be able to hit the notes today. Would still love to hear it live though.
@fittingly Excuse me I was wrong, it wasn't in D tune, but in D# , not D minor of course. I'm sure its the right tune, i tried to play with the song in background and it fits perfectly! Try to tune yout guitar like this: D#, A#, F#, C#, G#, D#, if you're not conviced i'll make a video! :D
Ppl say this album is more or less "disco" and i have to agree that this is not the Painkiller kinda sound but damn, Judas dont have a bad song at all- they have different songs but no bad ones \m/
@douchicide I myself found them around 2007, I think I was 12 or something, didn't really start listening to full albums until I was 14. Gonna see them for the first time in April, it's gonna be awesome! Although Halford is not really that exciting to watch on stage, but the voice is still amazing.

I really like this song, my opinion is that there is many good ones on the turbo album. Turbo lover was actually the first song I ever heard by Judas Priest. I think Tuobo L. is good, but absolutely not the best one so far. Reckless, for example, is better. :)
Some trivia... The corporate heads wanted to put this song on the Top Gun soundtrack but Priest didn't want to take it away from the album. If it had been on the soundtrack it would have been a major hit, no doubt. Still, I'm glad they kept it for the album since it's a great closer and because it also showed they had some integrity about their music in spite of the more commercial sound. Great song.
a response as lately as 3 weeks proves this albums "longevity" as are all priest's works. look at the album cover.... hmmmmmm?? but then close your eyes and listen to the music
I guess I can see why diehard metal Priest fans dislike this album... however, I would never understand any of them not liking this song. This is a shining moment(s) for the metal gods

"Reckless" is one of my FAV songs on Priest's grossly underrated "Turbo". Ironically, this tune was originally to be included on the soundtrack to "Top Gun", but the Priests turned them down for fear the movie would flop. It didn't however. Had this been included in the soundtrack, it would've been cool.
@Austrelopitecus Probably because it's more Pop Metal, while most of their other stuff could be considered Power Metal or Speed Metal. It was just such a drastic change to a more commercial sound.
@BlackDiamond77100 i know. turbo lover is the shit. kinda makes me think of kmfdm album covers for some reason...especially XTORT. Out In the Cold is a fantastic song...sounds like the beginning of a Nightmare on Elm Street movie with a pop song of the time. and i can't say enough about Reckless. I heard it was going to be on the Top Gun Soundtrack but was pulled cause it would have taking all attention off the other songs or something to that extent.
I never liked dave hollands drum playing. Too boring and uninspiring. After alan moore, simon and les binks he seemed so meh. Thank god Scott joined the band!
@chillichomper Agree totally, just like a drum machine! There again, I gather most of the follow up album, RID, WAS a drum machine. Binks was class and Travis has done wonders since!
Oh my god! I just found this Priest song and I can't believe they don't play it live. It's a shame. This again proofs how good Priest was in the 80's and in 1990 because of the painkiller album. Superb, absolutely superb!
@vemund1144 I FULLY agree my friend.....ANYONE who has not listened to the Priest catalog is missing out on a wealth of not just great METAL...but a wealth of great MUSIC period
This has always been one of my favorite tunes from Priest. I didn't know there was so many other people that liked it as much as me...thank you all......I'm gonna miss these guy's.....who's the 8 assholes that didn't like it?
The ONLY decent tune from this otherwise forgettable release... I'm a HUGE Priest-fan, but I still remember the look on my friend's face when we first played this record (yes, record) and heard TURBO LOVER come through my home speakers... I really respect the fact that U like these bands, since ure so young. Most 18 year old nowadays dont know much about these bands. Thumbs up...
@BlanFan2O A real Priest fan may not like TURBOS sound over lets say: PAINKILLER but should be more bothered by the lost years after Painkiller when they couldve put out some great stuff but disbanded! Priests worst album was: RAM IT DOWN! Priest threw together a shallow album made up mostly from UNUSED TURBO SONGS! Most of the songs were about, singing songs. It was a Kiss album. Priest always had a more cerebral type of material except for RAM IT DOWN!
@bobisdark Are you serious? Painkiller is just a copy of Ram It Down! how can you say Ram it sucks? you're an idiot, Judas' worst album can be Demolition ot Jugulator
@SuperJS1974 i actually used to skip this song but i'm playing it like it came out last week, just like old times, '71 cutlass g-60's cragar ss mags, thrush muffler (pissed the neighbours off)...........anyways carry on.
Fuck all this hate for 'Turbo' man....this album showed ...AGAIN...how diverse an animal Judas Priest can be...how broadly they could expand heavy metal's parameters and KEEP it heavy...sure, it can be argued that "Hot For Love" or "Wild Nights, Hot And Crazy Days" may not be their most PIVOTAL tracks ever written (granted, there are FAR better in their repertoire), but THIS track!?? Fuck man...the solo ALONE has enough energy to fuel a goddamn space shuttle....dig it.... :D
exactly! judas priest is the most versatile band ever. no band has changed so much without completely selling out or going downhill without recovering. i never understood why turbo and ram it down were so poorly reviewed. ram it down is my favorite judas priest album along with painkiller.
Next to "Ram It Down" The "Turbo" album is the most underrated album of all time. Sure it sounds like a typical glam metal album but Judas Priest perfected the sound. Not to mention if you take away the synth and effects, it's just as heavy as any other Priest records out there. If you don't believe me, check out thier most recent live shows and watch them perform the classics and you'll know what i'm talking about
I was fortunate enough to have a Priest fan father. This is one of the albums that got me interested in such a great band. I'll treasure this CD forever.
great song even better album every song on turbo is good! this band opened the door 2 heavy metal! gay or not rob halford is one of the best singers around!! if u like this u should check out primal fear sounds just like this
@jjjxxx777 did you lisen? their singer was the second choice to replace rob but they picked the ripper. i think this singer would have done better than the ripper.no one can sound just like rob, but he is pretty close.
This if my favorite fucking solo of all damn time! I still get goose bumps when I hear it
Sacc2252 2 weeks ago

Thanks, holmes. But I just picked up my favorite axe again, and tuned it to the piano, and dude, it really sounds like the song's in Am to me.
I'm pretty sure it ain't in Dm. Does this song sound anything like Ozzy's "Mr. Crowley" to you?
fittingly 5 days ago
@Justplayfuckingmetal
Yeah, dude, look, here's what's up: It definitely ain't in Dm.
Set your guitar in standard E tuning, and follow this chord progression:
Am, F, C, G — and the solo key employs an A natural minor mode.
It isn't in Dm, that's for sure.

@TheSetibevol88
exactly! judas priest is the most versatile band ever. no band has changed so much without completely selling out or going downhill without recovering. i never understood why turbo and ram it down were so poorly reviewed. ram it down is my favorite judas priest album along with painkiller.

Turbo is damn great album, full of great hard rock tunes, no matter if there are synth guitars, it just sounds awesome!

Are Judas Priest the Heavy Metal Gods? I sure think so. They showed the world how to bang their heads.

@jjjxxx777 did you lisen? their singer was the second choice to replace rob but they picked the ripper. i think this singer would have done better than the ripper.no one can sound just like rob, but he is pretty close.
bashenbrian 1 year ago
@bashenbrian I say he sounds more like Ripper.
