The director said they were gonna make the directors cut where all the chicks were naked! But it never happened which really pissed me off cuz that would hav made the movie so much better!!!
the theatrical release is good, but the extended cut on blu ray is even better!
in the original, they had to cut out a lot of the speech and a few full scenes because they were talking directly about sex; they wanted to keep the movie PG-13
Okay so someone prove my math teacher wrong (yes my math teacher saw it and this is what she said) She said that Amber,Rocket, Blondie never existed, only in the first 2 worlds in Babydolls mind. If they were real then the doctor (near the end when she was telling the guy about babydoll and everything) would have told the guy that 2 girls got shot. But then i told her, but babydoll had nothing to do with it. she didnt shoot them, Blue did, and that fat chef killed Rocket. someone help?
@nessa13photo A few weeks ago, on the TV Tropes entry for "Sucker Punch", someone posted that Amber, Rocket, and Blondie were in reality the three girls that Sweetpea mentioned that died trying to escape the asylum when Babydoll first introduced the idea of escaping. Seeing that the story unfolded/flashbacked in the minutes between Baby's lobotomy(and this fact is introduced on the first-level fantasy world), i guess it would make sense that these three girls would be the same that died earlier.
An imperfect movie, but certainly unforgettable. Hopefully the Director's Cut will rectify most of the issues I had with the film. Loved the train/robot sequence and this song the best, though.
I love this movie so much everything from the sexy outfits to the guns and plot. To bad we never get to see her dance though thumbs up if you think that would have made it a little better!
no you wouldn't, you may think you do but you really do not want to see the dance. it's best left to the imagination. because if they showed the dance no matter what there will be people in the audience who won't think that the dance is captivating at all.
favorite song in the movie hands down. I love this movie the action was just too awesome and the story was cool too. Most put it off as a watered down inception but hell at least you can understand this movie without too much thought.
Sucker Punch was an absolutely dreadful film. And I'm not a small minded person who cannot grasp the power of imagination. It truly was terrible. And the whole "girl power" bullshit is absolutely ridiculous. It was just a dumb excuse to get girls in slutty clothing and the studio says shit like it's girl power. the film made no since and it was just bloated with all this unnecessary boring action. I loved 300 and I thought Watchmen was a masterpiece among super hero film but Snyder cant write
I loved the movie. It was definitely one of the best movies of all time. It was one of the few original motion pictures we have and teaches the great value of freedom. The soundtrack made everything else seem absent. It made this song the only thing playing. I loved it. But, I'm sure Sweet Pee and Rocket have bad memories of this song.
this movie has me a little depressed because when it comes back to reality theres no going back from that labotomy and it sucks the main protagonist had to go through that.
I agree with MadonnasMrDj, all the critics and people who have bad things to say about this movie didn't understand half of what was really going on in the movie and just based the movie on it's action scenes and actresses.
This is the first movie in a long time that held my attention for the complete 2 hours.
The critics are biased and hypocritical. They cannot ever admit that any film of a fantasy or sci-fi nature could ever be good or "artistic". However, if it is fantasy or sci-fi in literary form, they love it. For example, Brave New World, Through the Looking Glass, 1984... But make a movie out of it and they suddenly become snobs.
This movie hits it on so many levels. Fun, artistic, life affirming.
i personally thought the acting was awesome, which was surprising cus movies like this, the acting usually goes to the backburner, but in Sucker Punch, everything was brilliant! 9/10 . . . the robot scene was awesome, though so and so, dying was no surprise. saw it coming from the very beginning. loved the orcs!! LOTR!
The movie failed from a writing & acting perspective for anyone over, say, 14.
From a visuals / sound point of view, it's a wonder. In particular, I'm impressed with the depth and imagination in so many of the remixes. Seeing the movie was 2 hours I'd love to have back, but I'm digging on the soundtrack.
@YouDervish99 some of the best movies are 2 hours long. As for the writing and acting I think it did reach an older audience because it's not like a freakin charles angels movie, and im sure most 14 year olds hated the ending especially if they didn't like inception.
@harristhesecondcomin length came from friendmouse, not me. this is another of the recent chixploitation flicks like "bitch slap" that purport to write "grrlpower" movies (more to empowered than violent...), but are a tissue-thin plot, badly acted, to explain 2-dimensional characters - pretty girls in skimpy outfits - at peril -- preferably in hot vehicles and toting big guns... it's the opposite of "empowering", it's guns-&-ammo-cover objectification. but the soundtracks ROCK :)
@YouDervish99 I respect your opinion but, the story wasn't tissue thin at all what movie in the past decade already had a plot like this? A penthouse disguised as an asylum I haven't heard that before. And you people (critics) are so quick to pull the exploitation card. If it's the point of the story who cares, it's not like it was just in there to be in there.
Hot vehicles? Not really unless a giant mech bunny is hot. The empowerment itself comes from their REAL fight for freedom.
I went opening weekend and I was surprised the theater (IMAX) only had a few dozen ppl, but the movie was ridiculously awesome. watch it in Imax and you be like "Avatar can suck my B*lls!" "Transformers who?"
@kimchipowered GOD YOU MORONS STOP GIVING AWAY PARTS OF THE MOVIE!!!!! WE ALL HAD TO PAY FUCKING 10 DOLLARS FOR A MOVIE TICKET TOO BUT YOU DON'T HEAR THE REST OF US MOVIE GOERS DIVULGING PARTS OF THE MOVIE AWAY! DOUCHE!
even search it on Youtube before you WATCH it. It's common sense that people on Youtube will give away things. You can't ask people not to to talk about it, they're going to.
I personally loved this movie, & the complete & utter chaos that was the plot. I have to hand it to Zack Snyder, amazing film but he can do way better;)
The soundtrack is, in itself, a wonderful addition to complete this movie.
i am a huge beatle fan. i always hate covers of their songs because its never as good. but in the theater...this was so amazing. this is better than the original.
The theater I saw thisin wasn't exactly packed, and alot of the critics/better known reviewers haven't been exactly nice to this movie, but judging from all the comments I see on alot of videos/songs from this movie, alot of people actually enjoyed it. I definely did, and its already one of my personal faves
The Critics be damned! This movie kicked ass on fucking every level! This is among my favorites, if not my favorite movie! So I say to every critic, FUCK YOU! This movie, is awesome!
@Cthulhu725 hey, spoilers!! lol, even though i already saw it! fucking amazing film!!! and this song is amazing, i was at the edge of my seat the WHOLE time! I want to go see it again!
@kimchipowered small SPOILER ALERT: I was prepared for her to day it seemed it was going that way but i thought she was going to be the ? sacrifice pissed me off when only one lived and that almost made me cry.
@kimchipowered That's how you know a movie has "gotten to you". When the camera is panning out and you see her looking up from the train, your heart just sinks and you mutter to yourself "oh NO...."
I don't know what's wrong with people. I thought that movie was incredible. I want to see it again on the big screen while I still can.
The movie was fu@%ing aweeeesome! Those critics who have a problem with it are either snobby elitist types, or those unable to fully grasp the movie and all it says, or they just don't get the modern epic or the modern world's reflection which can be seen in this flick if you just open your eyes. This was by no no no means Snyder's worst movie and those who say so are assholes who need to crawl back in their holes. Snyder is a visionary director, and I dig his vision.
@balrog73 No, the problem with the movie is that if you actually pay attention there are a billion plot holes. Don't get me wrong, I had fun watching the movie, but it had nothing to do with the story. I had fun because there were hot girls, awesome fight scenes, great visuals, and an amazing soundtrack. If you boil it down to just the story, though? Mediocre at best.
@StopCoughingInMyFace Exact same feelings right here!!! This knocked out Black Swan for my top Number 1 spot. I love the message, the soundtrack, the effects, the directing, the cuts, the outfits, the girls, the cinematography, the hair, the guns, the mech bunny... everything! FUCK WHAT THE CRITICS SAY!!!
@MadonnasMrDj I wouldn't go so far to say better than Black Swan, but yes this movie had a wide assortment of amazing aspects that made this movie probably one of the best for 2011.
@MadonnasMrDj Whoawhoa, what message did the story give that you loved? Just out of curiosity because the only messages I got were pretty ridiculous. XD
@AnanaMango no matter what kind of awful situation you are in, the ones trying to oppress you have no true power. Only you hold the true power to set yourself free, whether it be mentally or physically.
My eyes watered at this; John, Paul, George, and Ringo should be very proud...now I'm even more geared up to see this wonderful piece of psychological action on a ginormous IMAX screen.
@darkmoose84 It makes me very happy to hear that. Please make sure your friends know about this film. I have read reviews on advanced screenings of the film, and many- MANY- of them were positive. I believe this film will be amazing, and more so seeing as it encourages us to use our imaginations to escape the harsh truths of reality.
@MadonnasMrDj I've read a lot of negative reviews saying the director screwed it up compared to "300" and "Watchmen." Haven't seen those, but I don't see how this could be thought of as terrible. I ran into my cousin when I saw the movie and she said it was horrible. I threw my pen at her haha. But I don't think everyone is getting the whole point completely.
@synysterXsteve True. Only those of us who've ever wanted to escape reality at some point by using the power of our mind will truly understand this film. The ones who find this movie "horrible" or "dumb" are those with small minds, and those who fail to grasp the true power of our imagination. Listen to the colour of your dreams. It is not dying.
@MadonnasMrDj I 100% agree with you! This movie is amazing and those who can't see that are just closed minded and not very deep of thought. It easily became one of my favorite movies of all time! Kudos to everyone who came up with this movie and made it happen! The music, the plot, the characters, the drama, the wiseman's sayings, put it all togather and you have a film master piece!
Thats a pretty "horrible" and "dumb" statement. Also very ignorant. Someone can have a different opinions of yours without them being dumb. Besides, I dont think the issue is with people not understanding the film, its actually has a very simple plot. The execution was a mess and agonizing.
@MadonnasMrDj I consider myself an escapist, and I enjoy movies like Inception and Pan's Labyrinth that build worlds and then encourage me to use my imagination to build those worlds even more, all while keeping a strong tether to the real world. So I think I can safely say that this movie DID NOT do either of those things, and that's why it failed.
@BlackLeather92 Didn't fail for me:). Ironically, encouraged me to build worlds, etc, and even more, I see a lot of Babydoll in myself...I always use my imagination to "escape reality", like when I'm bored at work. In fact, "Sucker Punch" has way more relevancy for folks than those two examples you mentioned. I could buy a young woman using her imagination to escape real-life trauma over someone literally planting an idea in my dreams.
@MadonnasMrDj you are so right it is not even funny, reality is cruel, everything needs to be fixed, but in the position we are in right now we would need the worlds help to do it, everything now is so fucked up... if this is not relevent to you then i am sorry, but in your mind you know im right either way... you have earned my respect...
i saw this movie the other day AND I HAD NO IDEA SHE SUNG THIS. mind blown.

Snyder is a visionary director, and I dig his vision.
balrog73 11 months ago 5
@balrog73 No, the problem with the movie is that if you actually pay attention there are a billion plot holes. Don't get me wrong, I had fun watching the movie, but it had nothing to do with the story. I had fun because there were hot girls, awesome fight scenes, great visuals, and an amazing soundtrack. If you boil it down to just the story, though? Mediocre at best.
KatLoveMusic 11 months ago
@KatLoveMusic The story itself was too complicated to be told in the timeframe, maybe it will be better shown on dvd
Joocebakz 11 months ago
@Joocebakz It was mostly because alot of stuff had to be cut to keep the movie PG 13. The DVD release will include all the original content.

MadonnasMrDj 11 months ago 68
@MadonnasMrDj I wouldn't go so far to say better than Black Swan, but yes this movie had a wide assortment of amazing aspects that made this movie probably one of the best for 2011.
hogarth131313 11 months ago
@MadonnasMrDj Whoawhoa, what message did the story give that you loved? Just out of curiosity because the only messages I got were pretty ridiculous. XD

@AnanaMango no matter what kind of awful situation you are in, the ones trying to oppress you have no true power. Only you hold the true power to set yourself free, whether it be mentally or physically.

My eyes watered at this; John, Paul, George, and Ringo should be very proud...now I'm even more geared up to see this wonderful piece of psychological action on a ginormous IMAX screen.
darkmoose84 11 months ago 18
@darkmoose84 It makes me very happy to hear that. Please make sure your friends know about this film. I have read reviews on advanced screenings of the film, and many- MANY- of them were positive. I believe this film will be amazing, and more so seeing as it encourages us to use our imaginations to escape the harsh truths of reality.
MadonnasMrDj 11 months ago 12
@MadonnasMrDj
I don't know where you get your info but this movie has more negative reviews than positive, saying this is Snyder's worst movie yet.

The plot is.. lame. But everything else is great.

But I don't think everyone is getting the whole point completely.
synysterXsteve 11 months ago 2
@synysterXsteve True. Only those of us who've ever wanted to escape reality at some point by using the power of our mind will truly understand this film. The ones who find this movie "horrible" or "dumb" are those with small minds, and those who fail to grasp the true power of our imagination. Listen to the colour of your dreams. It is not dying.
MadonnasMrDj 11 months ago 57
@MadonnasMrDj I 100% agree with you! This movie is amazing and those who can't see that are just closed minded and not very deep of thought. It easily became one of my favorite movies of all time! Kudos to everyone who came up with this movie and made it happen! The music, the plot, the characters, the drama, the wiseman's sayings, put it all togather and you have a film master piece!
My favorite movies are:
Sucker Punch
HellBoy: The Golden Army
The Imaginarioum of Doctor Parnassus
Ink
AtlanteanWorshiper 11 months ago
@MadonnasMrDj
Thats a pretty "horrible" and "dumb" statement. Also very ignorant. Someone can have a different opinions of yours without them being dumb. Besides, I dont think the issue is with people not understanding the film, its actually has a very simple plot. The execution was a mess and agonizing.
masamune28954 11 months ago
@MadonnasMrDj I consider myself an escapist, and I enjoy movies like Inception and Pan's Labyrinth that build worlds and then encourage me to use my imagination to build those worlds even more, all while keeping a strong tether to the real world. So I think I can safely say that this movie DID NOT do either of those things, and that's why it failed.
BlackLeather92 10 months ago
@BlackLeather92 Didn't fail for me:). Ironically, encouraged me to build worlds, etc, and even more, I see a lot of Babydoll in myself...I always use my imagination to "escape reality", like when I'm bored at work. In fact, "Sucker Punch" has way more relevancy for folks than those two examples you mentioned. I could buy a young woman using her imagination to escape real-life trauma over someone literally planting an idea in my dreams.

@MadonnasMrDj or people who dont do drugs...
notchjohnson1 7 months ago
@MadonnasMrDj you are so right it is not even funny, reality is cruel, everything needs to be fixed, but in the position we are in right now we would need the worlds help to do it, everything now is so fucked up... if this is not relevent to you then i am sorry, but in your mind you know im right either way... you have earned my respect...
