But to address your question directly, yes it very well could. If there is an increase in demand for arms, then arms manufacturers will have to increase their supply to overcome shortages. This means higher production which typically means more jobs. Obviously there are moral considerations...

Nice video, but it's just YOUR "Navy warning" to pirates. The US Navy would never expend that much high-powered weaponry on Somali (or any other) pirates. It's too expensive, totally unnecessary to accomplish the task, politically dangerous, and it just isn't "how we roll." We don't tend to use the military for wanton destruction of life, and the intelligence value of every target is evaluated before it is destroyed. If useful knowledge can be gained from the target, then we minimize damage.
