  • Greatest black comedy ever made.

  • MEIN FUHRER, I can walk!!!

  • Neo-Con platform for iran.

  • Quite possibly the scariest scene in all cinema history.

  • Classic.

  • And that's how the US and Russia fucked it up for everyone all because of the doomsday gap...

  • weird, in the good way.

  • DR. STRANGELOVE: Mein Führer! I can walk!

    *doomsday machine goes off*

*Starchild from the end of 2001 watches from space*

    STARCHILD: ...What the fuck?

  • brilliant and depressing... safbmx.blogspot.com

  • And that's how the US Strategic Air Command lights a grill up on the weekend..

  • one of the greatest films these eyes have had the privilege to watch... so Dr. Strangelove or how i learned to stop worrying and love the bomb.... or Fallout the prequel....

  • the perfect meditation on the absurdity of life

  • at least it will be quick

  • this is problably the only stanely kubrick film im ever going to like

  • Its amazing how when we get a President, a crazed Nazi, and a Russian Leader all in the same room the world blows up.

  • for a good time, recall how the movies are utilised to have Cuban Missile Crisis people shot dead in the head. for fun and profit. do pay particular attention to the film that stopped this getting to number 1, it was Mary Poppins. yes, the same out of place black umbrella.

so next time you think only capitalism & war economy is important, you remember you should be feeding the birds instead.

  • I guess that week in vegas isn't gonna happen?

  • This has always been my favorite ending to any movie. All of kubrick's songs are ironic in title or lyrics in context with his films and are of the period they portray. Great director.

  • Nostalgia :-)

  • Hello again. If you loved me, you'd just give it up already. Everybody lives, everybody wins. Get over it.

  • what did he said?

  • @aquelescaraaaaaaaaaa Immediate Nuclear Disarmament

  • @aquelescaraaaaaaaaaa In case someone hasn't answered your question, he said, “Mein Fuhrer, I can walk!”

  • And then Ron Perlman starts narrating: "War... War never changes..."

  • Hitler wished he had one first, shit happens.

  • @145Slap789 - nope, Hitler looked at what nukes do to the world and flatly refused to research them, and cetainly didn't want to deploy them.

Hitler wouldn't unleash radioactive poison onto the world. he was meant to be about fighting that kind of emotional toxicity infecting people in the first place.

  • You got to love this scene. The song just fits so perfectly. Vera Lynn was amazing and she still is

  • Indescribable Feeling. Indescribable Magnificence.

  • When I first saw this ending I got shivers.

  • And then they all died.

  • This is the way the world ends. This is the way the world ends. This is the way the world ends.

the muslim extremists? ha. No. They might be willing to die for Allah....but...

The Fuhrer's men are ready to die for nothing at all.

    Mein Fuhrer. I can walk.

The world will end with the words of a man who is prepared to die and kill everyone for nothing at all.

This is the way the world ends. Not with a bang, but a whimper.

  • @TheCaptainmoemoe If the end of the world happens with such beautiful and hilarious juxtaposition of music and imagery, I think I'll be perfectly fine with it.

  • @twentymooseman - then what? what will you do next?

  • Peter Sellers! What a genius! LOL

  • An amazing ending to one of the greatest masterpieces ever put to film.

  • The voice from the new Call of Duty Zombie map pack is based on Dr Strangelove

  • Fascists are servants of Satan and want to end freedom and cause suffering of mankind in the worst possible ways.

This film is both funny and prophetic and Peter Sellers adds a dimension beyond belief. Work for peace.

  • @exenrontexas

Satan? Does that concept really exist still? A devil?

Well tell me something, what can oppose God's will?

Nothing, can it? There's a delightful little realization.

  • @theoriginal72 Is that a serious question? Have you even researched it? God allows man free will. We are not machines acting and preprogrammed manner. We make choices. God wants us to freely choose good over evil, himself over Satan. Don't you realize that?

  • I laughed. So hard.

  • "...no fighting in the war room!"

  • And so the story of man ends.

  • This is such a great ending. It allows your mind to go in 1000 different directions thinking about what the people in that war room did after these bombs went off.

  • Kubrick was making pearls in world of pigs.

  • The first time I saw this I was cracking up, totally unexpected.

  • Art. Pure Art.

  • The military-industrial-complex encapsulated in a few hours...brilliant work Kubrick :)

  • "Mein Fuhrer! I can walk!"

A phrase that will get stuck in my head forever.

  • epic

    <3

  • "Gentlemen you can't fight in here! This is the war room!"

    Golden line :D

  • Did you know that Sellers actually improvised the line? Geesh.. They're all genius.. Vera Lynn.. Kubrick.. And of course Sellers..

  • stanley kubrick fucking genius...

  • What a movie man, what a movie. It exists to totally be what it wants despite any opposition. It is a beacon of pure art. VIVA LA STRANGELOVE

  • it's so cool

  • listen to the fallout 3 sound track I don't want to set the world on fire while looking at the bombs going off

  • With Julien Assange in the media again., might be a good role for him. Julien strange attractor. There are entries under jules strangness and attractor in my physics dictionary Julien Assange.

  • @divisorplot Assange, Manning and their friends are mathematicians, physicists, engineers and IT experts who have the courage of their convictions. Dr Strangelove is a megalomaniac I do not know any anti-war activists like him. Every activist I know agrees that Assange and Manning are heroes with x-ray vision through bullshit. Julian's made-up surname is no secret. Government and media parasites hate him because he outsmarted them. It's hilarious!

    youtube.com/watch?v=NXbCwq4ewBU

  • Damn, Kubrick was a genius.

  • When I first saw this scene, I thought when was Vera singing about how we would meet again, I thought she meant we would meet again in Heaven lol

  • Such a difficult thing to explain why, but it's amongst the best movie endings of all time... I remembered since the first time I watched this movie, I couldn't really understand if I even liked the ending, but I could never forget since.

Wonderful!! Peter Sellers you will be forever missed...

  • Drop acid not bombs! Genius = Kubrick

  • and wouldn't you know it, he wasn't actually supposed to do that... XD

  • haha this is exactly something family guy would reference

  • @NHDrummer93

With no offence in mind, I would like to award you with a hearty "Fuck you, sir", for even mentioning something as horridly shitty and retarded as Family Guy in this context.

  • @Vesuri

Hahah, I'll throw a loving fuck you right back at you. Was just making a point. Family guy is the worst show to come around in years and I was just mentioning that this is exactly something they would reference.

  • @NHDrummer93

Ah, well in that case, I must retract hostile words, and state my apologies, for you are a man of reason.

But yeah, anybody who actually likes Family Guy (or doesn't get clinically depressed after watching that shit for longer than ten seconds) should be executed with a three foot rubber cock. IMHO and so forth.

  • That Vera Lynn part at the end with the bomb explosions is scary to me

  • I still wish they'd added pie fight ending...

  • If there's an Oscar for Best Use of Stock Footage, this film should've won it.

  • @rerite2 Bullshit!! Unleashing the bad dog out of the basement should win every year since it has kept the peace for over 40 years. (youTube site: Minuteman Launch 0:32 sec).

  • He has returned

  • no. we most certanly won't meet again.

  • dr. strangelove ending - a doomsday device goes off, killing all life on earth.

2001 ending - aliens enlighten mankind, creating world peace.

  • @CHAOSin8bits I heartily 'BOOOOH!' your take on the 2001 ending. Also, quit spoiling shit, fucker.

  • Peter Sellars incredible performance playing the three roles of Dr. Strangelove, The President and the British Officer should have garnered him an Oscar. How many actors could have played all three roles convincingly?

  • @DrMarianus Agreed Peter Sellers was fantastic in the three roles! He will as remembered for his great performance in this picture

  • Life's a bitch. just when you find out you don't need a wheelchair anywore, the whole world blows up.

  • I dont know why but every time I see this I die a little inside... Not that it's a bad ending god no. It's magnificent... It's just so beatiful...

The contrast between the beatiful music and the terrible creation... One has maybe little influence but such joy and hope while the other has major changes but is a symbol of hatred and destruction. How could we we create both of these? I know what I say may sound stupid but, well I thought I should share it with others...

  • Oh god, why did we stupid humans create something horrible like the a-bomb. Should have took time and invent a love bomb.

  • 17 people are from Nevada, Bikini Atol, Hiroshima, Nakasaki, or somewhere like that...

  • kubrick shot the moon landings.. this is more proof... also its explained in allegory in the movie Shinning.. watch it.. 2001 hellllo

  • Well, Doomsday supposedly begins at 6 PM Tonga time tomorrow, so, it was nice knowing everybody... : )

  • "Mein Fuhrer! I can walk!" + "We'll Meet Again" playing as the world blows up = Genius!

  • I cried a little :')

  • Stanely Kubrick = best director ever

    R.I.P.

  • @theMissJackson101 Agreed. I cannot think of anyone in Kubrick's orbit...Hitchcock is in the game, but how about living? Terrence Malick comes closest.

  • @KellyGreen5555 Don't forget David Lynch (he's my second favorite director). His movies are insane! lol

  • Can someone explain the ending please?

  • @cj766961 Its the end of the world as the Russian doomsday device goes off. Those are the nuclear weapons on both sides being activated. The song is supposed to be a stark contradiction to the fact that the human race is being almost completely wiped out.

  • @cj766961 : The overarching theme of the movie is that citizens (be it Russia or US) place their trust in the stead of every day bureaucrats, who, incorrectly have placed their trust in a concept of game theory (Mutually Assured Destruction) that was incompetently organized (in that the power of "MAD" is that the other party is made aware it exists & thus avoids final confrontation). To that end, we have no power to control the destiny of the very leaders we elect, & must learn to "not worry".

  • @cj766961 Another point to add is that Dr. Strangelove walking again is a metaphor for the re-emergence of the Nazi ideas.

  • @cj766961 No.

  • Peter Sellers in one of his best movies of all time!

  • A quintessential masterpiece of depicting the funniest in the most horrible.

  • @davidmjeong926 isn't the most horrible when things are the funniest?

  • Comment removed

  • @monstergodking The same dumbshits who gave Bruce Willis and Julia Roberts their careers.

  • Veraaaaa, Veraaa, what has become of you?

Does anybody else in here, fell the way I do?

  • @alexstore1 Actually, she's STILL alive. And, in 2009, she showed she STILL has that World War II antifascist spirit by suing the British National Party(BNP) for using her recording of "White Cliffs of Dover" without her permission. Vera Lynn lived through the threat of fascism and still knows it when she sees it.

  • @alexstore1 I've got a little black book with my poems in!

  • @alexstore1 Epic reference

  • I was the last line to be my ringtone. HOW DO I DO THIS?

  • google "Operation Paperclip" and you'll know what and who (and HOW MANY OF THEM) Dr. Strangeloff is a symbol of.

  • fucking love this scene

  • @noobcrusher141 To make rothchild, morgans, rockerfellers, shiffs, and the warburgs rich. If you look through history not only through your school text books, you'll see how the banks are involved and how much control they have. You don't have to make me sound like an idiot. I do know what I'm talking about.

  • I love the fact that Strangelove is so disabled, and crippled, but it doesn't stop him from blowing up the world!

  • @20thCenturyVole2 What? He doesn't cause the world to blow up

  • Dennis Markuze AKA David Mabus: Stanley Kubrick visited me in a dream last night. He was standing next to Jesus. Jesus complained that there were no custard pies and Kubrick said, "Let there be pies!" and Jesus got smacked with one. Then Jesus smacked Kubrick with a pie.

Jesus said, "I hope Dave quits linking this video on his stupid rants about the end of the world."

  • It is incredible that a song that was intended to be entirely optimistic, inspired so many great minds (Kubrich, Pink Floyd, Johnny Cash etc.) to use it in the most depressing ways.

  • Kubrick set out to make a serious film. But more than half way through, he and Stoppard (co writer) realized this was so serious, one had to laugh. There was no way they could tell this story and ignore the ludicrous nature of the madness of nuclear war. He's not poking fun at the U.S. military nor the governments of the U.S. or U.S.S.R. He is poking fun of human beings and our very consistent naivety and hope in all situations, even nuclear war. Hence the title. The film is a masterpiece.

  • FUKUSHIMA

  • Boom!

  • this movie was great for so many reasons. it was able to be funny while at the same time make a point about the tension between the US and the soviet union durring the time when the cold war was in full swing

  • 'Hitler' an Avatar of Devil or 'Satan' himself! Whatever was he, he left a legacy to be 'Debated' and mostly against against him (99.99%), was definitely a 'Character' which are born once in a Century. Hitler was born in 1889 and Laden in 1957.

  • If you are a BSG fan. Gaeta's death is an allusion to this scene.

  • is dr. strangelove's body part imperialist stooge?

  • Jurassic Bark.

  • @adzman1000

    from futurama?

  • thank you rockafeller, rothchild, and other elite families that make wars to keep us occupied, while you get rich. Many thanks.

  • GENIUS. contrasting the devastating bomb with a gorgeous smooth song.

  • Oh god I love you SSD-chan ;____;

  • Greatest movie ever made.

    Hands down.

  • Hahaha, General Buck 'Turgidson' talking about a 'mein schaft'?

  • I want more cowbell!

  • 14 people have infected bodily fluids.

  • This is the most halarious thing ive ever watched.

  • Comedy right?........whenever I see those things I feel sad.....humans - the best and worst things on the face of the earth.....not funny.

  • @southsidesman yes, it is comedy, and that's the 'moral', if moral's the right word. The movie makes fun of nuclear weaponry and its purpose.

  • I love Kubriks musical irony. Great director.

  • De lo mejor de Kubrick junto a A Clockwork Orange!!!

    Groso!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @lamcola65: You seem to be an expert when it comes to the word "gay". Please share your special knowledge with us!!!

  • gay

  • 14 people wish they had a doomsday device

  • Masterfully synical...

    the male chorus give chills.

  • this is one of the funniest and best movie endings ever

  • 15 people dont belive in mutually assured destruction

  • Funny thing? I'm 16.The firs time I watched it I was 14...and I sang along :)

  • @ixxykissoxo

    YOU SO SPECIAL OMG

  • @ixxykissoxo That's the point. You're supposed to. That's the brilliance of Kubrick. This song was played more than any other during WWII in Great Britain. It spoke of hope and positive outcomes no matter what. Kubrick too it to the limit, as in, the end of the world, doesn't mean the end of the world! ;)

  • Mein Führer! I CAN WALK!

  • @pseudotruth Oppenheimer actually misquoted the original text in translating it as "death" instead of "time"...but for the situation I think death sounded, more significant, maybe even magnanimous.

  • Robert Oppenheimer upon seeing the atomic bomb quoted from the ancient text the Bhagavad-Gita: "I am become death, the destroyer of worlds."

  • @pseudotruth And then he started slapping at his own hand, which suddenly tried to choke him ...

  • I keep pushing my friend to dress up as Dr. Strange love for Halloween. But I would have to be the Russian Ambassador.

  • @TheObsidianhunter Haha why can't you do it? I want to be Dr. Strangelove for Halloween because he's probably the coolest looking movie character ever. I'd have to by a wheelchair though.

  • Best movie ending ever

  • @AwesomeNstuff this, and holy grail's ending.

  • I bet you the Soviets did have a doomsday weapons system, and still do.

  • @VideoGameNerd777 Well they would...if there were still Soviets.

  • @neviusprime Now it's probably in the hands of some ultra-nationsalists.

  • Comment removed

  • "Mein Fuhrer! I can valk!" LOL!

  • @JixYt Goes without saying, but I will anyway: Peter Sellers was a genius.

  • @KellyGreen5555

Too bad he couldn't play Major Kong as planned.

  • Gentlemen, you can't fight in here, this is the war room!

  • what’s the scene supposed to be? did they fire warheads and then instead of a solution they all just land and blow up?

  • @jeobeahon

They couldn't stop the Soviet Doomsday Device from activating, so the upper class went underground to escape the radiation. The montage is supposed to show the world baking in nuclear radiation. The song is just a Black comedy.

  • @jeobeahon : Just watch the movie. Its great. Its about the surreal situation of cold war. And it may raise this strange love for the bomb....

  • War, War never changes.

  • Gentlemen! You can't fight in here this is the war room!

  • Obviously 14 people meant to hit like, but were so overwhelmed by the epic win of Dr. Strangelove that their brains went DERRRRP.

  • One of the greatest endings ever! I can't think of any other movie scenes that so perfectly combine hilarity, irony, horror, cynicism and sadness like this one ... except maybe "Nashville." Perfection, both of them.

  • Mein Führer! Ich kann gehen

  • My fuhrer! I can walk!

  • The biggest Like in Universe!

  • It would be so awesome if they put this song in the next Fallout game!

  • This song should be in Fallout

  • @XOniMajoraX That's exactly what I was thinking.

  • @XOniMajoraX or bioshock 0.o

  • @XOniMajoraX Mark Fuhrman?

  • @XOniMajoraX I swear it is ...

  • Nope...this song was just perfect especially if you saw the movie... Go with God Peter Sellers...

  • i don't understand the ending??????????

  • @WWEinvadesTNA8

Wait till your older. If you're oldish, wait some more.
