  • I found that if I do max deadlift, for a couple of days after I can't loosen off very easily to do oly lifts, so I hardly ever do deadlifts.

  • Why are you using straps? You can't use them in competition... I'm not hating, it's a good deadlift...

  • When will people realize that Broz is not Pat Mendes, when you comment on the videos? lol!

  • Oh shit son!

  • I'd love to train with you guys it's too bad I'm all the way up in canada

  • beastly lift dude I wish I could pull that haha

gimme another year I might be close

  • How come you lean back so far on your lockout.

  • pure power. respects from germany

  • I notice you hardly ever use belts or wraps or any other equipment to help you much when you lift. I don't either despite unless I'm maxing out despite all these people that recommend you should wear knee wraps or belts or whatever when you do squats to protect your back or knees. It's best to train your own body your tendons, ligaments, muscles, etc. to support your structure when you lift at least I believe it can help prevent weaknesses and in turn injuries down the road.

  • @fearfactor22 agreed

  • r u wearing a belt??? if not, why? is it really important to wear a belt with heavy deadlifts?

  • when you grip the bar i notice you grip it knuckles out every one always tells me to use one hand normal one hand reverse is there really a diffrence

  • @jersmusicrecordings yes there is. Ignore those who tell you to use a reverse grip.

  • @BROZKNOWS Just curious how come you advise against reverse grip?

  • please sir can you help me

im a bodybuilder and i have been training for a year right now

    i can lift 80kg squat

flat bench press bar 25kg the same for incline

i want to improve my power what do you recommand ? is it good to lift heavy for 4 reps to achieve this or ?? thank you for your time

  • @MrCaprice90 I'd recommend starting strength or any other basic strength program, seems like you are lacking a foundation in strength with the lifts you described, is your bodyweight around 120lbs?

  • Dude how can you lift with no blaring music?!?

  • @RjRocker87 in peace

  • @BROZKNOWS I would reply, peace is for the weak but your pulling way more than I am!

  • the fact that this is snatch grip, even with wraps, is insane. awesome work

  • *oly

  • Hey broz, how necessary would you say weightlifting shoes are? I'm just getting into only lifting and I don't want to spend more money than I have to. I use chuck Taylor's atm

  • @skyethebeast for O Lifts, try old boots or dress shoes with a heel.

  • @skyethebeast the chucks are just fine, those shoes are called adidas adistars they run about 150 to 200 bucks i got a pair and i have to say they are like putting ur feet in cement i love them! but never use like cross trainers, or like running shoes!! they will screw up your lifts.

  • holy shit hes lifting that rainbow like its nothing

  • Epic dude O_O

  • wheres your belt? o.O

  • WTF

  • @BROZKNOWS

Deads are by far my favorite lift. Any particular reason you only dead 4x/year?

  • Holy crap this guy doesn't mess around

  • there is no such thing as a touch and go deadlift its called DEAD lift becuase the bar is dead on the ground. i saw 1 rep deadlift not 4

  • @Possimpablee ok - I'll change the name to...?? dribbling with 700?

  • @Possimpablee nah he touch the ground 4 times. He's fine.

  • @Possimpablee maybe you can tell malanachev about squatting ect. if you can't appreciate the top lifters fuck off !

  • @Possimpablee i originally deadlifted in a touch and go fashion then i switched to a very strict true deadlift and now im back to touh and go, it just seems to give me a better workout.

  • do 330 jeszcze brakuje . max jest tam 300kg

  • Strong man, maybe to strong... hmmm....

  • beast

  • Broz,do you think that deadlifting positively affects the olympic lifts? I notice that the Chinese include a lot of deadlifting in their training. Whats your opinion on this?

    Thanks

  • What are youu?? D;

  • @Zlzyer

I logged on just to say that you are dumb. "does he do other exercises?" Really? Realllly? Does he do other exercises? Those videos to the right of him squatting are actually fake.

  • Jesus thats an impressive deadlift from a 20 year old! I'm 20 and I'm happy when I do 180kg haha!

  • there's nothing average about this guy, so damn strong, and 20 years old!!! that makes me want to kill myself

  • Good shit bro. I just hit 495lbs x1 on Tuesday, my new PR. Keep up the good work, this is motivating for people like me!

  • jesus christ that is fucking awesome!!!!!!!!

  • Pat Mendes is an outrageous human being

  • People can't diss this guy because majority of us normal people can't even deadlift that :L

  • Damn, that's awesome! That's some serious weight.

  • that was beast !! speechless........

  • Do you know what your standing vertical jump is?

  • @sconny09 30+

  • What do you mean by "doesn't look big"? He weights more than 120kgs.

  • Impressive weight for guy who doesnt look big :)

  • @kibetsu he's not a bodybuilder

  • Holy shit. And perfect form!

  • how does pat breath when he lifts? is he using the valsalva maneuver?

  • @lThundaShock i believe he's holding hid breathe to keep his core tight to put less strain on the lower back.

  • I'm sure he could do well in strongman competitions.

  • imagine what grip he has. dunno if the straps help anything at that weight. even if yes, you must have extremely strong grip to bear that weight.

this man is a fucking pro, strong as hell!

  • Some of the best lifting I've seen on youtube. Keep up the great work.

  • that looks like he's putting a lot of strain on his back, I was taught to go a bit lower and engage with the legs more on the initial drive

  • @kundis90 pretty sure he doesn't need a lesson on form. just saying...

  • Does he deadlift at every workout?

  • @TurkishHardcore no. only about 4x/ year

  • @BROZKNOWS gotten sooo strong that you can only do it 4x per Year

  • @Mr0Beast can? no, only.

  • @BROZKNOWS How the heck does he do that weight if he doesn't train his lower back? Or does he do other exercises?

  • What are Pat's recent training PR's in the snatch and C&J as the olympics are getting closer?

  • nice nice

  • Hi Mr. Broz, do you think it would be possible to make videos teaching the form used in the lifts? Unfortunately I don't live near Vegas to visit the gym.

  • @NateandAustin The new website will have over 20 technique videos. stay tuned.

  • Are you doing the hook grip?

  • @slipknot9821 straps.

  • @BROZKNOWS

Ohhh now i see... But it's still awesome :D

  • What is his 1RM? Wouldn't be surprised if it was this +30kg or more.

  • @raxq didn't try. prob close to 360 at the time.

  • @BROZKNOWS thanks for the info, is Pat going to compete somewhere in Europe? Would love to see him do this crazy sh*t in real life.

  • Props John, to both you and Pat.

It's great seeing olympic lifters deadlifting. It's come to the point that some think of it as taboo or detrimental, to deadlift while practicing the olympic lifts, which is a shame.

  • @kariido1 There is a time and place for everything. Must stay openminded.

  • why do people throw theyre shoulders back after the positive rep????????

  • Wow! you´re f*****g strong man! Amazing!

  • lol i was like "deadlift 330 4 times? i can do that!" then i realized it was 330kg's

  • I just watched this again. Makes my palms sweat just watching this dude. Haha.

  • Raw!? Thats sick!!!

  • fuckin beast!!! great technique brother

  • classic old school big super strong guy that doesn't seem to be on anything, fuckin awesome...I'm good for around 500 once MAYBE at 186lbs If I go berserk and warm up right, Big Pat Mendez REPS! In the 700 realm, that's the strength of a Titan, with no tricks, for real...never stop Pat, you're only In your 20s, take it slow and don't hurt yourself, one day you may be repping 1000!!!!!!!!! ...Power level...Over ONE THOUUSSANNNNDDD! ...=/

  • once i deadlifted half his weight and i was so happy with myself lol

  • Geez Broz, just tell Pat that he can't clean 330kg already. He missed it 5 times!

  • wonder what this guys max is. Ronnie Coleman did 800x2 almost right after his competition this guy is close to Ronnie's strength amazing.

  • @broskiskunk He's stronger

  • @beeee2meegood yeah well he is using straps so the grip isnt an issue:P the deadlift is impressive though:)

  • If you wonder why that barbell in the back isn't unracked of its weights, it's because that is their warmup weight :P

  • @BROZKNOWS I think futuremarine2013ify meant 315 lbs not kgs

there is no way in hell 16year old could deadlift 727 and if there is someone who could, I will be on the way to see that!

  • That is almost unpossible, impossible (:

  • 726 pounds x 4 is superb

  • if he were to lose his extra body fat, would his lifting strength suffer?

  • @HILARIOUSKID33

    ofcourse, yes!

  • lol

  • LMAO people thinking 330kg is 330 lbs...how ignorant can people be on youtube.

  • i subscribed just for pat mendes

  • I would think his dead be well above his squat been an olympic lifter.

  • How much can you upright row??

  • Funny how people jump on here and say you should have done this and you should that.... The guy just DEAD LIFTED 330kgs --- 4 fucking times... UNREAL. Top effort mate!!!!

  • play football?

  • impressive ! x)

  • This is amazing for his age, but hes using the stretch reflex by bouncing between reps...

    Still nice though!

  • fucking beast

  • he could beat most of the powerlifters (and with a much better technique). this is amazing! how many years does pat train?

  • Is this guy going to be lifitng for the US in London? I've been watching his videos, and his lifts are just incredible.

  • Hahaha Its funny when people mix pounds for kgs.

I was doing neck schrugs with 100 dumbells for reps

So thats 2x100 dumbells. And this guy (around 40), he was doing dumbell chest right next to me with 2x40pounds.

He was like " WTF dude 200kgs?!! thats impressive shit!" and I said " its not kgs its in pounds, 200 pounds is around 91kgs" The face he just made was hilarious!

I just saw a disapointment in his face, as he just found out he was benching 35kgs instead of 80kgs lol ><

  • @Rhulken GHAHHAHAHAHAHA OMFG SO FUNNY U MADE MY DAY DUDE OMFG

  • @Rhulken hahaha, funny story :) Thanks :)

  • @Rhulken that's weird, how could he not feel what he was benching... unles it was his first day

  • @tungstenlion either that or the 16 year old guy weighs about 385 lbs. Either way he is sad

  • sick

  • Hell yeah, very badass.

  • how old are you pat?

  • Pat is a beast!! He looked good at Nationals this year too!

  • I just came from his 800lb squat video...whats his max DL at? I thought DL was supposed to be a fair bit higher than squat (I know 1 vs. 4 reps is not fair comparison, but still feels odd).

  • @openaccessuser

As an Oly lifter, I'm guessing Pat trains squat 10x more than deadlift (if he trains deadlift at all). Also, if you check out his DL form, he's lifting with his hips low more like a clean pull than a powerlifting deadlift. Many powerlifters have bigger squats than deadlifts. This is particularly true with geared lifting. Cheers....

  • Most I've deaflifted was 500 x 1, 495 x 2, 19 years old, 6 foot, that's 2.2x my bodyweight. It was one of the hardest things I've ever done.

This guy is a fucking pro. Over 2.5x his bodyweight for REPS. ANYONE putting this guy down doesn't see fucking dedication, skill and hard work when it has 100k views.

    Fucking egos these days.

  • @RippinSkullz I agree about those commentators having egos, but then so does the weightlifter in the video. No one would go that far in weight lifting if it wasn't for ego and attention seeking.

  • @IAM18YEARSOLDANDOVER Maybe people go that far because they love doing it?

  • @IAM18YEARSOLDANDOVER Pat is an olympic lifter. Representing your own country, the USA, in olympics would be a great honor. Let alone if you won something (and it looks like Pat is going to win something if he continues this way).

  • @IAM18YEARSOLDANDOVER thats a shitty comment man, some people actually enjoy challenging themselves mentally and physically unlike you obviously

  • @IAM18YEARSOLDANDOVER He's not training so he can turn heads at the gym, he's training for competition, as in, he gets paid to lift heavy weights. Kind of like your job flipping burgers, except a little more exciting.

  • @062112a lol

  • @RippinSkullz Do you stikll lift? My DL max is 545. Which is 2.369 times my bodyweight (230lbs). And I'm also 19. I'll be nineteen for 6 more months trying to hit that 85 before i turn 20. I am only 5'9" though so i have a litttle advantage. Was your lift raw?

  • haha i love your responses i always lol at them:D

  • This dude is super strong, what a great feat of strength and i expect by now he is lifting even more. Whats even better is that the technique was safe and the range of movement was correct. Having seen his 360+kg squat atg on another brozknows video his strength is unquestionable. Fair play mate.

However if you are one of the dicks who love to post comments saying ''I'm 16 and lift 300kg easy" please shut up. No-one cars/believes you. Post a video or don't claim it!

  • This kid is a beast.....what's he going to be lifting at 25? Sure he doesn't have some gorilla DNA in him somewhere?

  • @beeee2meegood overhand grip with straps is even easier that using a mixed grip.but overhand grip without straps requires you to have balls of steel.

  • God damnit... I'm as old as he is and I can barely lift 290kg for 1 rep in a proper form. This is very impressive. Keep it up! I hope to be this strong some day.

  • 21 y/o ?! o_O holy shit he is going to be a legend .. no doubt

  • @beeee2meegood double over hand with straps is stronger than mixed by far

  • pat should be in the olympics

  • @beeee2meegood 21/290

  • broz u think its ok to deadlift on oly shoes?because others say dont do it cause of the elevation.is it making the deadlift more quad dominant?

do u suggest me buying oly shoes if i dont do oly lifting but just atg squats deadlifts overhead presses etc?

  • @kwstas67 I love the Adidas lifting shoes. We use them for everything, including going shopping. lol

  • @BROZKNOWS :D lol do u suggest this brand?

  • @kwstas67 i lift in bare feet, never had a problem

  • monster

  • u gon snap some shit up man

  • -holy shit-

  • Out of curiosity, is he doing the deadlift because it translates to an Olympic lift or is it just because it is an awesome exercise and builds strength everywhere?

  • fucking animal!!! nice work!!!

  • @TheSilverDolfin I'm not certain his knees weren't locked but I just thought I'd let you know that starting strength isn't the end all be all...

  • i need your number.... incase my car ever breaks down you can just pick it up and take it to the shop for me :p damn your fucking strong man good work!

  • out of curiosity, what does this guy eat and how much? I mean this dude is hulk without the green color!!!

  • dude im 16 and 175 and dead lift 315 u can def do more

  • @futuremarine2013ify Hey Forest Gump- you lift 1.8x your bodyweight 1 rep and he did over 2.5x his bodyweight for 4 reps. Looks like you can "def do more". Personally I don't think that you could even load 727 pounds on a barbell by yourself.

  • @BROZKNOWS I think you enjoy this :D

  • @BROZKNOWS

I don't think the poor retard realises theres a difference between 315 pounds and 330 kg.

  • @BROZKNOWS i think he read the weight in the title as lbs and not kg

  • @BROZKNOWS That's crazy bro. I can rep 550lbs twice but my form isn't all that great at that weight. 700+ is amazing!

  • @BROZKNOWS I think this douchebag is talking pounds not kilos.

  • @BROZKNOWS

I think he misinterpreted KG for Lbs/Pounds..

  • @BROZKNOWS the dude does not know the difference between pounds and kilos

  • Lol, why attack him? He believes you can do more? What's wrong with that?

  • @BROZKNOWS You'd have to be dumb AND blind. Who could even look at that bar and think it was anywhere close to 315lbs? Could be he was just sayin "u can def do more"...as in...showing respect.

  • @christiantjr possibly, but the reference to his historic lift casts doubt as to a positive response.

  • @futuremarine2013ify You do 315 pounds you mean! This is in KG. Thus 2.2 x 330 = 726 pounds. This guy was prob deadlifting 315 as a newborn.

  • @futuremarine2013ify KILOGRAMS u STUPID SHIT

  • @futuremarine2013ify

...buddy, this is 330 kilo, not 330 lbs. BIG difference.

  • @futuremarine2013ify These are kg's kid. read the description. 727.5 pounds

  • @futuremarine2013ify im 15 215 and when i was 14 i maxed out at 415, your a beast kid

  • @futuremarine2013ify Ur probably thinking bout Pounds more than kilos lol

  • @futuremarine2013ify your an idiot, he dead lifter 330 kg which is like 700 lbs. a lot of people can dead lift 315 lbs

  • @futuremarine2013ify It's kilograms, not pounds(sigh).

  • @futuremarine2013ify its in kilograms not lbs 33kg is about 728 lbs

  • @futuremarine2013ify im 16 too, and i deadlift 400pounds for 2 reps :) ha-ha

  • @futuremarine2013ify Just like to interject to the little yank, he is lifting 330kg not 330lb. And if you think you can deadlift 315KG I'd love to see a video of it. And just so you know... 315 is about 140kg, so he deadlifts more than double what you do and for reps.
