@bradzack100 dude nobody cares how bad yours are where you live the buildings in ct are made for the type of winds that tornadoes produce. thats why the damage in bpt stratfoprd and in other towns where tornadoes hit did get it bad because they arent brand new and built sturdy
yea microburst but CT isn't known for getting tornados so this was a big thing and it left bpt pretty bad. Brad don't look at the storm and compare it to yours cuz that's not the point. Like i said before its rare for CT to get tornados and we just had another one lol...wtf is going on
@bllumipanta I agree , its the same like when people in Florida get 1/2 inch of snow. Its a big thing. Tornadoes in the N.E. are very rare . We had one in the Bronx NYC last month and although it was only an F0 it was a big thing.
It was a microburst with a tornado somewhere in that storm but you recorded the microburst part of the storm. It could get a bit terrifying,I actually experiienced an even stronger microburst then what you recorded here. What I witnessed was horizontal winds of at least 120mph!!!! straightline that took out the queens mall roof!!! and hundred yr old trees in rego park.
Nasty stuff. I filmed a bad storm in CT back in 95 at night. Only saw close lightning but Great Barrington, MA was hit hard from a twister. Part of me wanted to get the hell out of there, but it was kinda exciting too lol.
I thought someone opened up a Jumanji game when the storm was over.......trees and debris everywhere.....I had no power for 27 hrs and I was lucky....some still have no power and several lost everything....very sad for my city but hopefully we'll come together {CT} and REBUILD!!
it wasent as bad at the norwalk hurracane i was there and my car almost tipped over from the wind and power was out for a week and ther was no school for a week it was pretty bad
Yea it was crazy...wish I stayed out there recording. The wi nd picked up and I just had to get out lol. The flag pole looked like it wanted to snap. Thanks guys for the comments and it was an incredible storm lol
@cdgunzz97 They came in on TV and radio with a severe thunderstorm warning and showed the forward motions of the storm cells at 50-60 mph (not winds IN the storms, but how fast they were moving thru CT)...they showed the lines of storms coming- there was warning...but if you were working at the time you may have had no idea. There were no tornado watches or warnings posted, as far as I know. What a quick, ferocious storm.
@striach The most amazing thing about New England tornadoes is that they normally don't hit when a tornado watch or warning is issued. It's usually in the severe thunderstorm warnings.
@snhtown9 we often get Tornado warnings here in Bridgeport Actually. There was one just before this storm moved in. Problem is people dont pay much attention.
@TheXion13 Yeah, people are mostly complacent here in New England because we don't get the monster killers like in the midwest. Then again, people out there get complacent too because they figure they survived one, they'll survive them all. I watched video of the one that hit Billings, Montana and it showed people just driving past a big one like it was nothing, and I mean right past one directly next to the freeway!...Crazy!!
I live in Meriden, was watching Animal Planet and then the State Emergency Broadcasting system came up beeping, and said "tornado warning" and thats pretty rare for up here, and right then and there i knew something was not right. Bridgeport looks like they really got something.
@bllumipanta heh well I cant complain, I got a front row seat anyway! I live in Marina Village right by downtown Bridgeport. After the storm passed a went for a stroll through Downtown, damage everywhere
this storm was really scary i mean i was like at least a few miles away frum it n i was freaking out cuz it was the first tornado ive seen in bpt.
