I have used my hd4870 since it was released granted it cost 170€ but it can still play almost all games at 1080p with 60fps. And I will be able to use that gfx card until the next generation of consoles comes out then I invest another 170€ and buy a new more powerful one.

I can't even afford to get a new console early. I didn't get my Xbox 360 until last year, before that I was playing on my N64.

Well at least in Finland a new pc game costs 38€ when console games cost 55€. I guess thats because in Scandinavia Pc gaming is so mainstream unlike in America everyone plays on consoles. And processors aren't that important so you can manage 7years with the same pc only changing gfx cards.

Hmm I am not sure. Valve named the first Source engine Source Engine 7. Like Half life 2 and so on. When the Orange Box came out it was Source Engine 14, and now Left 4 Dead is out, it is Source Engine 37 for some weird reason. Well anyways, there should be a Source SDK Beta coming out or something soon :D
