I must say these pre combustion cats sound good. Ever thought of a straight pipe? I heard they aren't that loud and the jakes hardly make noise either.
Those C500s are tough trucks. We have them over here in Australia. KW has made a new C510 over here which is tri-drive twin steer with a K19 Cummins (there's a photo on one of my vids). We definately don't get that kinda cold over here!
You don't see a lot of low, side exhaust dischage like that, I first thought it was a bad exhaust leak at the final 90 degree bend on a normal-height exhaust stack.
The exhaust final 90 degree was removed because the exhaust was in way to be connected with the dump body for heating purpose. The work was not finished.
This is my father's truck, he lives 310 miles from here and I do not plan to visit him before july holidays. But at this moment, if I can, I will do that. Each time we visit him, I always take the truck and give a ride to my sons.
The only thing special is the great sound without any exhaust and the age of this engine. But sorry, these kind of engine will not start without glow plug nor ether below -30 here. Sure your engines are differents or maybe your battery set? Anyway, this is for the pleasure of the ears. Thanks for your comment.

how long did it take you to start it up on there and get it to move
allenjanoch 4 years ago
Less than five minutes, excluding pre-drive inspection.
sdfromsth 4 years ago
how fast can it go and what it is max rpm on it
allenjanoch 4 years ago
It can ride at about 110km/h (68 mph) and max RPM is 2200 rpm but we should never go over 2000 rpm.

KENWORTH makes some great trucks and C500 has to be their thoughest but it ain't as pretty as a w900.

Your Right W900 are the best looking kenworth Tractor. Looks like a Freightliner Classic too. Classic and W900 ar My Favorite Trucks

Reminds me of an old Freightliner we had, had a 5.9 cummins, it would smoke like that everytime you started it, cold or warm.
greentltbronco 4 years ago
?????? It must have been a pretty small freightliner to have a 5.9

The truck was not plugged, no heater. We open the door after a -20°C night and turn the ignition key. You can ear and see the results.

Hey dude, we do that all the time here in Finland. And in the worst case up to -30 to -40 C. I don't see anything special in this clip..?
