  • I'll be watching this a lot! You are so amazing! Beautiful and expressive and animated! I strive to be as talented as you. Thank you for posting this.

  • OH MY GOD!!!!! I am blown away by your ASL abilities! You are outstanding! I am a regular education elementary school teacher and last year I started an ASL Choir called The Sign of the Dolphins. I took ASL in college by am pretty much learning as I go. We did Man In The Mirror last year and it was a blast. We are doing The Rose this year and I was also thinking about doing Unwritten...which is why I ended up here watching you. You're a true inspiration!

  • Cool work Micki! How do you sign 'unwritten'? is there a particular sign or do you is it signed with open interpretation?

  • @adihrespati you can sign "to write" followed by a negative possesion sign such as "dont have" dont know" or you can "written" "not" know", or "U" "N" and "write"

  • Freaking outstanding... A true Gift

    Nice Job Miki

From an old Friend Mike... Moon

  • WOW, so amazingly talented, you so inspired me to continue learning sign language (;

I wish i understood some of the signs you signed, so it can help me sign a song for my project. Awesome job!!

  • this is amazing...i love the interpretation. i wish i had the asl gloss. great job =]

  • Thank you for your kind words! I'd be happy to send this gloss to you, just give me your email address. Remember, there are as many ways to sign a song as there are interpreters! :-)

    Mick

  • Thanks for your kind words. I'm happy to send this ASL gloss to you, just give me your Email address. And remember, there are as many ways to sign a song as there are interpreters! :-)

    Mick

  • Beautiful.

And how did you manage to lip synch the words in english and still sign in ASL. I CANNOT do that. I gloss what I'm saying with my lips. My mind won't let me speak two languages at once.

  • I could not agree more.

  • Thanks so much for your encouraging feedback! And you CAN lip the English words while you sign the ASL, it's called "muscle memory" and all it takes is time and practice.

    Mick

  • Beautiful job!

  • Thanks! You do a great belly dance, too!

  • thank you

  • WOW!!!

  • Thank you for the beautiful ASL!!!

  • Way Rad! always love when I click on an "ASL" video.. and get an ASL video!! Way love your interpretation.

  • Wow! What a great true ASL interpretation.

You were even able to keep great timing, sing along and sign ASL. I aspire to be that good! I just started a year ago. Maybe with time and practice...

  • Great job! I love that your signing is an interpretation of her words rather than SEE. I also love this version of the song.

  • u are so good! expressions are right on point. I need to work on this. I laugh when I sign cause I get nervous

  • This is great! Loved the interpretation!

  • I am a CODA and I have to say that u ROCKED this song, never leaving true and traditional ASL. You stuck to using the comprehensive meaning behind the lyrics. Iam so proud of u. It brought a tear to my eye.

  • Thanks so much for your sweet comment! I'm trying to establish myself in the concert arena but can't seem to convince the "powers that be" to stop using a terp with no credentials (or ASL knowledge) just because they can pay half of what I think the jobs are worth. Keep a good thought and thanks again for taking the time to make my day!

  • This such a great song. I really liked the idoms.

  • Thanks for that fun feedback! Mick

  • I teach ASL and conversational sign classes... I hope you don't mind that I share it with my students? They need to see that you don't sign songs word for word. Thanks!

  • I'm honored that you'd like to share it with your class! In fact, if you'd like to have the lyrics and my ASL gloss of this great song, I'd be happy to send them to you. "We're all in this together!" Thanks! Mick

  • Great! I would love the lyrics and your ASL gloss!

    Thanks Mick.

I look forward to seeing more of your artistic interpretations.

  • sorry to disturb you mick i was wondering if i could have the asl gloss sent to me so i can teach my siblngs how to do more asl signs.

    thanks in advance

    briana rivera

  • Hi Briana ~ I'm happy to send you my gloss for this song. I don't know how to do that here. What's an E-mail address I could send it to? Mick

  • I love how your soft style matches her voice! It's very nice. I'd suggest one thing though-- get rid of the english mouthing... it would be easier to watch the signs!

  • Wow! Very interesting point, I'll try that the next time I tape this. Thanks for your kind thoughts! Mick

  • Micki,I loved it!!! You're always an inspiration to me. Can't wait to see more!

  • Thanks, Michelle! It's folks like you who keep me wanting to do more! That inspires me,too!
