It could be a 2002, as the 51 plate registration year ran into the next year (2002). just because it says (51) doesn't mean its a 2001.

what this guy did not say was in late 2002 Ford replaced the Ka's 1.3 Endura-E (59bhp) with the 1.3 Duratec (69bhp).
Significant difference in performance and with the KA's power to weight ratio it is actually slighty quicker than e.g. clio 1.2 16v.
