  • I used to run a piece of tape on the snares themselves, learned that in Band. Course you couldn't throw it to a tom....

  • Thanks for posting. I had bought a snare drum for my son and it was ringing like crazy. Your toilet paper tip worked great for us.

  • my o-rings tend to vibrate because they don't cover all parts of the drum. It leaves me with an annoying buzzy sound when hitting fx my floortom. Is there any way to fix this issue or are my rings just generally bad? Btw the o-rings im using are called aquarian studio rings. Help!

  • @Jakelikesxbox your problem is most likely an issue of your drum surfaces being too vertical. Try tilting them so they are more up and down. But that's for you to decide. If the rings are also bent or creased at all that may be it as well. If that doesn't work, try retuning your skins. Hope that helps, it's hard for me to diagnose without seeing them.

    Cheers

  • @kesihua2 thank you very much for your reply. I think that you are right, because my snare drum has the o-ring on it and it doesn't cause the buzz sound like my toms do. I will try it out tomorrow.

    Cheers

  • I put tape on mines. And my moongels are old so I just taped em on lol. But, why not duct tape? That's the one that I love to use :o and how much are o rings? Are they like cheaper e mads (Evans)?

  • @JeserNoob I avoid duct tape because it leaves residue and can damage the skin if left on for extended time. I also wash moongels with soap and warm water to make them stick like new. O-rings can be bought for around 7 bucks a pack.

  • @kesihua2 oh thats awesome! i actually removed the old tape i had on my head and i removed the moongel to see how it originally sounded and then i saw that the moongel was sticky again so yeah. i ll upload a video pretty soon. and ill look into those o-rings. are there any good brands on o-rings or are they just like one brand?

  • @JeserNoob There are tonnes of O-ring makers, they're all the same. It's just plastic rings. You can make them yourself out of old skins if you want.
