Disappointed with Cantrell. I wouldn't let that cocksucker, Hetfield, breath my air. Alice in Chains has had only a single hit since Layne died, or exactly one more than Metallica since 1992.

I've listened to countless people cover this (James Hetfield obviously, Phil Anselmo, etc), and I must say...no one even comes close to Layne. They do a good job of paying tribute, which is what it's about; not "OMG LAYNE STALEYS BETTER THAN PHIL" or whoever. Layne was truly a one of a kind voice.

i love AiC to death but i can't help but think that Jerry is kissing too much hollywood ass. From going to the awards shows after they dishonoured Layne to constantly getting high profile singers to cover the songs ect.. I actually like Duvall he's not as bad as everyone makes him out to be, must be hard trying to make people like him since alot of are/were diehard Staley fans (me included). Hetfield and metallica -rob are assholes anyway.

@486255 Simply, Hetfield didn't understand Layne at the time.It was a huge mistake to do what he did and I think he perfectly knows it. Paying this tribute, he wanted to have the opportunity to show his admiration to Layne and the fact he was wrong, closing with the past. All changes in life and it's important to admit your own faults.
