  • There was an interesting, on-topic by Markos Moulitsas Zúniga comment in The Nation from June 2006 mentioning YouTube at:

    http://www.thenation.com/doc/20060703/zunigq

  • thanks LV, i'll be sure to check it out!

  • we're going to be in the Nation one day

  • "Sensible Americans opposed to national-security endangering war are extremists?"

What the ambassador ~meant~ to say was that more than 80 percent of Democrats, and 60 percent of all Americans, oppose the war. And Loserman responds to his primary defeat with an ludicrous construct: that the majority of Americans--and all the Dems in Connecticut who voted against him--are, his words, ~extremists~. The old bag of tricks is empty.

  • thank goodness! it was a heavy bag!

  • Thanks for the links, LiberalV.

Progressives can make headway by describing Loserman as an extremist out of step with 60 percent of Americans who are against the war. 60 percent of us. Sensible Americans opposed to national-security endangering war are extremists? I don't think so. I say we're patriots.

  • more to come!

  • Erm. Oops. Er. I see how the posts go up now. . . .

About the review for Crashing the Gate--great job skinnychef. I'm waiting for my own copy and getting ready to help out this fall with gotv efforts in Denver.

In the meantime, we need more--MORE, I tell you--culinary comedy, composting, and activism tips from skinnychef.

  • skinnychef. You made that cereal from scratch, right? Are you gonna post the recipe?

  • sorry, honey, secret recipie

  • Quentin Tarantino!! THAT GUY IS Quentin Tarantino!! OMG! THAT'S SOO COOLLLL!

  • Maybe the chin perhaps? But nothing else right?

  • You wish, Evan!

  • shhhh. don't tell everyone about my famous boss.

  • That's so cool! I still don't trust you.

  • thanks MrCook!

  • Niles Crane Hey hey.Looks a fun place to work.

  • So does your boss look as much like Niles Crane in person as he does on YouTube?

I haven't read that book, BTW, but one prob I have with the ideas of the DailyKos guys is that they haven't yet translated into votes (e.g., the Howard Dean presidential campaign had the internet, but didn't have the votes).

    Thanks for the video! :-)

  • Hey LV...I read the book, and it is more about the use of the blogosphere to organize. It is quite effective, but of course we need to get over the divisiveness of correctitude, and work rather on the principal of Political Compatability. Lets face it, the Party has failed us, and we need to fix it to create change.

  • merrykite,

I'm not sure "the Party has failed us" is fair. In a democracy, we generally need to look for blame for stuff like that in the mirror.

I haven't seen a lot of good leadership from Democrats lately, though

  • Um. Yeah, but. Ned Lamont.

  • Hooray for Ned!

Now if se can just get that divisive jerk, Joe offa the ticket. What a schmuck, didn't he ever learn to part with grace? Who does he think he is? The Fidel of Conneticut?

  • Hey! Someone yanked a post, making "Ned" nonsensical in the thread now.

  • paxr55,

Yeah, Ned Lamont shows a win in a PRIMARY, farther than the internet took Howard Dean. Maybe it will take Lamont thru the general election, too. I saw the head of MoveOn.org discussing it on Colbert at

    http://www.comedycentral.com/motherload/index.jhtml?ml_video=72807

    and at

    http://www.comedycentral.com/motherload/index.jhtml?ml_video=72538

Hope YouTube didnt insert spaces in those URLs

  • I don't look like Ned Lamont

  • I am not David Hyde Pierce so just stop this crazyness!

  • evanaetor,

This video was my first realization that David Hyde Pierce looks a lot like Quentin Tarantino. Thanks for that ;-)

  • Me too LV.

  • love your vids by the way. Maybe we can be in one?

  • I do what I can

  • You'll agree that this medium is all a work in progress, there is a need to jump in and organize in a collaborative manner. because the republicans sure do. and they can raise some funds and influence because of it. the progressive movement is crippled by in-fighting and self righteousness. it is up to us to get the party working again, for us and by us-- and never let them forget it!

  • Very funny! And you hit the nail on the head re: why I didn't stay employed in work related to progressive politics. I got tired of living on burritos, not being able to afford a car, etc.

I thought you were crazy to put sangria on cereal, but then I thought I should be more open-minded. Looks like my first instinct was the right one!

  • yes after a long night in the ER the doctor told me that sangria and cereal in combination form a fatal or in my case near fatal reaction. I guess it depends what near fatal means because I did have a near death experience. Oh well anything for a good shot.

  • it was nasty!

  • You crack me up! :) Thanks for the review. I love how you're pointing out that we all need to start asking for what we're worth! You could probably do a whole string of things about this.

  • don't worry, pal, I will!

    thanks for your support!

  • who is that gorgeous guy? I can still smell the Sangria

  • he's a good eater...

  • who knew he was such a ham!
