DiCaprio tried to have this and his Orico Card commercial banned from being shown outside of Japan because he was on some kick about being a serious actor and not "selling out" at the time. He even went after the webmaster of the Japander website with his lawyers for putting those commercials up on his site. This is before YouTube, though.
It's because it showed him being hypocritical in two ways: one in that he starred in a fluff advertisement in which he made $4 million for a 30 second spot in Japan while he's doing interviews in America saying that he won't sell out for an easy buck (when asked about doing action movies or comedies) and two in that he was also acting as an environmental champion, attending rallies and being one of the first celebs to own a Prius.

It still goes against his stance. The Prius does have a combustion engine, and I never said it did, but it's still more green than the Wagon Rs he didn't want people to know he was hocking in Japan.
God get a new brain ! He always loved nature but he was not an ecologist as he is today. And he was very young back then and very immature. Intelligent persons grow up with more convictions :)
Before you even try to rip on someone's intelligence, I suggest you don't have the grammar of a 5th grader. Looks like you learned how to write from Kanye West.
And FYI, he was an outspoken critic of global warming even back then. He bought the Prius as a statement.

Dude, the Prius has a combustion engine; it's not 100% electric. And the Wagon R is so tiny it probably gets similar fuel mileage.
