Nice review! Gradius is always fun to play through. The first thing I always go for is the speed power-up, then the option, missiles, etc. Makes life a lot easier dodging those bullets.
Try harder man. I believe in you. You have the power!
Anyhow man, good video. Beat this game so many times. I have to ask you something. Are you just buying ass loads of games off eBay like all the time? Chill out man lol. Beat the games!
I've been gaming since 1979 and collecting since about 1996. Some of them are original purchases from when they were new. I just started doing the review thing though. Most of the games I have beat at some point in time though. If I've never beaten one I'll usually mention it in the review.
I rarely use Ebay, too much overpriced stuff. I'll hit thrift stores or the occasional online store if they have the right price. All in all I might spend between $20-80 a week on games.
Well, gaming since I was 4. I'll be 34 soon. I got my first system (an Atari 2600) in 79 and have been gaming steady since.
I'd like to put up a collection video, but it's really unorganized at the moment. I'm looking at buying a new house soon, and setting up a dedicated game room in it and would probably show a video of it when it's finished. Right now it's just giant stacks and boxes of games and systems.
You forgot to mention the arcade version is available as part of the Gradius Collection on PSP.

Nice review. Nemesis/Gradius is a timeless game (just like it sequels). I always put it on par with Zanac that other timeless shooter.

How does that system still work? Mine gave up the ghost 10 years ago.

I replaced the 72 pin connector inside it. Those are usually what quits on an NES.

1979? So you have been gaming since you were 3? Can you please make a collection video? That would be awesome.

I freaking loved this game when I was a Kid... never got to play the second one... only the kinda sequel, Life Force

Gradius II was a Japan-only Famicom release for the home consoles. The arcade version may have snuck into Europe though.
Life Force review coming soon!
