  • Roger uses his skills as the Negotiator to convince Angel to let people keep their memories, (which represent self-awareness) as Big Venus slowly approaches. Big O and Big Venus then walk into and pass through one another, and Roger is able to confront Angel as the Director. Big Venus may be a command version of Big O's model, as it is seen overseeing the Big-type megadeus rampage in flashbacks of The Event.

  • The ending has me stumped. :/

  • one of the best anime giant robots ever

  • You know, I'm not sure if I'm satisfied with this climax.

P.S. Part of me thought that Angel would've appeared with Roger and Dorothy next to that hourglass. Oh well. :)

  • wtf is going on?????

  • big o BFG

  • So, Paradigm City is actually a virtual world?

  • @SMAXZO Maybe it's virtual, or maybe it is our world periodically altered by Big Venus, and all life is a stage.

  • Ya know....he could have just moved out of the way.

  • how did i miss him i shot him point blank thank you lucky wristbands XD

  • Is it Dorothy and Roger singing the song in the credits?

  • HOW THE HELL DID HE MISS?

  • Dats another way to kill 1,000,000 people WITH DA SUPER DICK GUN

  • Lol I got your arms ^.^

  • This was a confusing ending but its opening to interpretation so heres my opinion when the reality is set back to the pliot i think it symbolises what the title says the show must go on even if its from the beginning again i think that it refers to the human existance that we have to and will keep going on even without a past or future no matter what happens to our own universie even if 2012 happens well come back and jus keep moving forward that is if we hav the will to do it

  • @ShinobiPXO Interesting interpretation. However, back when a third season was being considered, it was going to be revealed that, during the big "reset", as I have come to call it, something didn't go right and Roger, Dorothy, and a a few others were supposed to fix it. It was going to borrow a lot of elements from Dark City.

I would have really liked to have seen that.

  • @ShinobiPXO interesting take on the ending.

  • That is a DAMN big laser, but it's just too bad it can only be used once.

  • You must be on drugs not to understand this shit....

  • Gundams make Big O looks like douche.

  • @camcuber Other way around. :P

  • I suddenly understand jack shit.

  • Looks like a weaker version of Jehutys vector cannon.

  • Am i the only one that heard Dcotor OCtagonapus....BAAAWWWWWWWW

  • so do the other Bigs have their own final stage?I kinda want to know what theirs coulda been

  • You son of Bitch, look what you did to Dorothy.

  • quick question can anyone please explain to me what the fuck happened at the end becuase I get lost when roger pops up at the end in his Bentleyesqe car tell everyone the same line he said at the beginning of the series

  • so was angel controlling Big Venus and also how did roger smith get to her that quick?

  • @prodeyj1 um i checked it out in Wikipedia and apparently in the japanese version it was explained that all of paradigm and its people were nothing but a vr so venus could be a iteration of angel specifically created to restart paradigm from the beginning and erase everyone's memories so roger showing up was just him following thru with what he promised gordon and asking angel to not take away the memories or what ever did anyone ever follow the plot

  • this is just my opinion, but i think that rogers life was an alternet reality to a play and or movie that angel wrote and were everything seems to lap over to the beginning is where we begin with the actors of the play and or movie, hence "we have come to terms". but that is just my opinion.

  • @pawstone

    Could very well be!

  • No one man should have all that power.

  • the first time i saw this anime thought it was batman

  • @subarux56 I thought the same thing, but realized it was far better and far far more confusing as hell.

  • What song is playing during 4:37? >.<

  • @rexplosi0n copy this into youtube, it should be the first video The Big O (THE ビッグオー) - Apologine (Breecker Street)

  • am i the only one who is confused by this anime. i seriously dont get it

  • so...i guess this happens every forty years.....

    WHY?

  • Wow... always knew that Beck was retarded... but that makes the joker look almost sane!

    1:01-1:03

  • I think this the only anime ever made to have a postmodernism style story line, and I guess unless you understand postmodernism and its style, the ending is kinda trippy

  • THE most epic attack of any mechanical giant I have ever seen, ever!

  • Ok, Roger just tore the city a giant new 50 mile long asshole as a result of that attack but hey, the bad guy ALMOST got killed!

  • if you comparethe tone in rogers voice from act 1 and the ending hes voice tone is very soft at the end and we see dorothy and angel together so who is he going to negotiate with cause if you remember first episode he is going to negociate dorothy with some guys so yeah i think he didnt lose his memories or at least no the important ones

  • Sigh do you think its possible for a season 3?

  • @TheLolfatal i wish

  • @jkw906koz Why not?

  • @TheLolfatal cuz adultswim is retarded

  • @jkw906koz sigh smh they needa

  • when a mech has to ANCHOR ITSELF DOWN to use a weapon, yuo KNOW you're completely screwed...

  • @BlitzkriegOmega ROFL!! Fucking epic statement

  • Well if there was any other form of life Roger just got rid of it.

  • Big O! Final Flash!

  • BIG O,FINAL STAGE!!!

  • i remember watching this show...then the ending came, and i felt very confused, but its was an EPIC confusion....very awesome finale

  • lol, reminiscent of FINAL FLASH.....energy wave destroys the entire city, but only blows off HALF of Big Fau

  • what a dumb attack...get rid of the arms for one attack...srsly

  • @MonoEdge They were probably meant to fly right back after drilling through Big O. It's called a Rocket Punch or more specifically, a Drill Rocket Punch. Invented as the simple Rocket Punch in Mazinger Z and then upgraded into a drilling move in Great Mazinger (Drill Pressure Punch), it's highly effective. Of course, when the story calls for the robot to be disabled, they can conveniently malfunction leaving the firing robot defenseless as happened here. :p

  • haha i thought she said Big Penis...

  • One thing that boggles me is why Roger was posing like a cross before he merged with Big Venus?

  • Climax scene was indeed touching, it's a shame season 3 never got made.

  • @mysticcrimson Now we will never know What actually happened 40 years ago :(. I wish someone would continue this series.

  • Ok...Roger's VA is fine...but god damn, Dorothy! EMOTION!

  • @wingedswordslayer Actually, it makes sense with Dorothy. She's a machine, remember? machine's don't have emotions. Okay, she does have emotions, but not in the expressional sense. That part's actually up to viewer to know what she's feeling.

  • @StarforceOnAir What's funny is that when Dorothy was with Professor Waynewright, she acted quite human, but around Roger and everyone else, she acts like a machine. In fact, she almost seems to delight in pressing Roger's buttons over her artificiality from time to time. It might having something to do with her programming but I think it's more of a defense mechanism. She'd rather project herself as a cold machine than expose her feelings and risk being hurt.

  • @wingedswordslayer Well, she is playing an android ya know...

  • I miss the show :( I wish is a animate movie and a new event :(

  • dont forget mugen from samurai champloo lol

  • The voice of Rodger Smith is also Spike from bebop, i believe

  • Seriously, when I first saw this ending I literally put on a WTF Face

  • I have figured out what is going on. Big O is about a show that is a re-imagining of Metropolis.

  • are they going to make another series of this?

  • Do any of you guys know where to buy the complete second season boxset?

I am looking to complete my collection of this wonderful show.

  • @WerdyA Amazon.com

  • Wtf? Is this just one giant trip dream or what?

  • Okay, I can't figure out where on Big O that panel at 2:34 is. Any ideas?

  • @TheCrimsonChao i think its on his back because in the same frame i think i see the shoulder panels aswell

  • @TheCrimsonChao it's part of the recoil and venting system for the cannon, and it's his back.

  • WTF GOING ON tv in tv? is this real what what ? what? what WHATS GOING AHHHHHHHHHH AHHHHHH

  • Gundam ain't got nothin on Big O!!! O_O

  • 6:19 The Big O poster on the wall behind Roger.

...Goddammit, this show makes even LESS sense to me now. God do I still love it.

  • @piccorotto O.O wow this is trippy

  • the whole world is a STAGE :)

this anime is one of my favorites may it live forever in our MEMORIES :)

  • this anime ACTUALLLY has good voice actors! best anime eva!

  • Refering back to the hobo roger episode hes just a crazy hobo who reads to many comics

  • I need drugs to understand this shit.

  • @SyCo888 dude even with drugs this wouldn't make sense you would just be to stoned to notice

  • @origialtych Yeah, I tried it, didn't work.

  • @SyCo888 good just making sure you knew though i think it did say something about all of the show being nothing more the a VR Simulation so I guess if you think about it from that perspective what happen was the program just restarted

  • One of the most confusing and infuriating finales of any series.

  • i have no fucking clue what happens in this show anymore, i always miss a few episodes.

  • @wiersandlines Basically the whole thing is, in fact, just a show. The big hint, besides the episode where Roger sees the real world to find that his world is just some anime series, was Roger saying "Big O, SHOW TIME" every episode.

The 'lost memories' from 40 years ago were just the events in the series being repeated every time. Once Roger saves Angel, the whole world just resets back to the first episode. To put it plainly: The whole thing is literally an anime series inside an anime lol

  • @MagatsutheCalamity ....... my brainz hurt now :C, thanks tho :D

  • @MagatsutheCalamity It all makes sense

  • whats the name of the song that starts at 2:12 ?

  • @561inurface Sure Promise.

  • @561inurface That song is called "Sure Promise" by Toshihiko Sahashi.

  • roger smith, definitely sexy just like Spike Spiegal

  • "wat happen?"

"someone set us up the mindfuck."

"we get deleted. main screen turn on."

  • That ending pissed me the fuck off.

  • @Arias987 why?

  • I never understood the crazy plot of this show. Everything just starts over again at the end. Didnt stop me from liking the show though :D

  • @josh18230 thats the best part about it though.

  • Damn right Dorothy.

  • Roger Smith is the defining role for Steve Blum.

  • He's a firin his lazarr!!

  • Hands down the best story line of an anime and also the most badass music

  • @daman1239 Yes, a good story indeed.

  • @daman1239 tengen toppa gurren lagann's storyline was better but not by much compared to Big O imo. But I think this is some of the best music ive ever heard in an anime.

  • Better than Iron Man's unibeam, that's for sure!!

  • They call him Big O and the O stands for Ohhh SHIT!

  • you know you're screwed when the guy that's attacking you has to chain themself down from the power they're generating

  • It's still absolutely HILARIOUS the way Big O surfaces @ :52. Like a salmon trying to swim upstream.

  • i still don't get how we got back to where we started with this show.

  • @mythghost Basically, the entire Big O series is on a loop, it continues as long as the wielder of Big Venus, Angel, wishes it to. She is the director, in a way, of the series. At least, I think that's what's happening. XD

  • @MaoukaMasaki777 bingo

  • What's the soundtrack called where Roger talks to Angel about memories?

  • @Kairadragon The track is "Apologine - Bleecker St"

  • SHOOP DA WHOOOP!!!

  • Big O! It's Showtime!

  • aggh.. The big.. OHH!

  • Seriously the voice actor who did Roger Smith is the sex!

  • @OmegaDude22 You mean Steven Bloom.

  • @ObjectionableHero It's Steven Blum.

  • @OmegaDude22 Steve Blum FTW!!!!!

  • @OmegaDude22 Steven Jay Blum aka The God of Anime Voiceover works

also did Orochimaru from Naruto, Wolverine from Various X-Men Media, Spike from Cowboy Bebop...Just to name his few if not over 200 dub roles.

  • @OmegaDude22 I think it is the same guy who did TOM from Toonami....

  • @OmegaDude22 Just like Spike Spiegel baby, Yeah. :)

  • @OmegaDude22 Stephen Blum. He's also the voice of many other anime character (Ergo, Spike Speigel from Cowboy Bebop)

  • @OmegaDude22 Steve Blum

  • This episode was the end of the second season. The third season from what I have understood is that Roger Smith finds the memories of the people of Paradigm City, but it leaves a catastrophic image and action in Paradigm City. Paradigm City is also known as New York. In case you did not watch the first season.

  • @DragonKiNG411

There isn't going to be a third season.

  • @5haow5

I know! And that's so sad! Cause this show rocked!

  • oh meh god, big o gots super mode!!!

  • man, i finaly figured out the ending, i think it restarts like that becuse towards the end Dorothy and roger says somethin like when big venus lost her wings she turned back ito what she was before she had them sowhen she walked into rogers big it restarted every thing befor that all happened or somthin like that

  • I don't think any Super Robot finisher can compete with The Final Stage. I love Gundam but Big O will FTW...

  • Love the sound affects when Big O is bringing out that gun. Epic. xD

  • What is the title of the music playing during Roger's big speech? I can't seem to find it on the OST.

  • @V2Gundam Apologize by Toshihiko Sahashi. Track 8 of the OST.

  • Actually I found it. It's "Apologine Bleaker St." off the second OST.

  • this is so confusing

  • I wonder what he meant by Argg..The big o

  • Maybe because when the Final Stage is pointed right at you, all you see is a "Big O" and then you're dead?

    Just a guess.

  • "I don't have a single solitary memory about myself, but I don't believe anyone took them from me. I most likely erased them of my own free will. I was the one who made that choice, I made it for myself; so I can live in the present and the future, because I must go on believing there is a me!"

    Roger Smith. Badass.

  • @Darkmage1293 Well said.

  • @Darkmage1293 I don't believe that people believe there is a me, I believe that I believe that there is a ME!

    I'm Roger!

    I'm ROGER THE NEGOTIATOR! -facestab-

  • @Darkmage1293 Indeed.

  • @Darkmage1293 Indeed. One of the gr8est lines of all time.

  • @Darkmage1293

And THAT, my friends, is negotiation.

the giant robot is just backup.

  • Cool.
