  • 7:55 to 8:16 is from a famous movie, loosely based on a true story, called The Train

  • Some real geniuses commenting here.

  • Why don't they use Green Peace for the crash test dummies?

  • awesome thanks for video

  • 0:50 Holy fuck that could have crushed the guy!!!

  • loved the steam engines! butt be careful, you may get in trouble with the "The Train" footage. copyright infringement and all that BS. Good video.

  • 0:36 fail lol

  • ... next test- stick a rocket in a blue whales' ass and fire 'im @ a pack of GreenAnuses!

  • what happened between 1:00 and 1:30?

  • @EnglishWarrior500 A work crew was working on the track when some runaway boxcars crashed into there equipment.

  • @Ham549 thanks, and by the way, that was a little intense

  • Very nice video ...make more from this ...Very nice ! :)

  • @Cumbova Working on it.

  • the first part of the video.. was that a rail car that got away from a yard? and i thought the brakes were set on stationary rail cars?

  • @gizmo98550 Looks like it, the answer to your second question is both yes and no, you don't have to set all the breaks on a string of cars only a cretin amount per car for instance 1 hand break per 4 cars. You also want to set the hand break on the end facing down hill. But things happen people do stupid things that is why we have derails.

  • @Ham549 thanks for the reply.. and not being a complete turd about it.. like so many others here would be.

  • I've got an idea, how about making the ends of trains like ramps with rails so in case of a collision, one train basically rides on top of the other one. Of course, the ends would have to be very long to avoid launching one of the trains into the air, and it won't work where tracks turn, but in straight head-on collisions it would work, wouldn't it?

  • Maybe I should steal videos from other posts on here and put them up as my own.

No, wait. That wouldn't be right now would it?

  • @fordexplorer101101

Most of these videos are public domain or have already been posted by everyone and there grandmother.

  • @4:31: that is one flexible car.

  • Notice that the duration of the video is 9:11 :)

  • 1:27 idiot. don't leave you equipment on train tracks moron

  • @vistaway3008 since it was equipment for railroad track maintenance, there is a good reason for it to be on the railroad track

  • @Ham549 really? there's a good reason for it to be sitting in the middle of the tracks? what's wrong with off to the side. Sounds like you're not too smart... l

  • @vistaway3008 Uh have you ever worked on building / maintaining railroad track? The a lot of the equipment rides along the railroad track, like that track speeder (notice the word "track") that got hit first. a lot of this equipment is very heavy. It looks like your the one who is "not smart"

  • @vistaway3008 Look at the video "Rail-Track Laying and Maintenance Equipment Operators" and tell me how someone is suppose to remove that kind of equipment from the railroad track. what's wrong with off to the side? Well how is the equipment going to be used to maintenance the railroad tracks without being on the railroad tracks?

  • @Ham549 sorry, but you're an idiot and that worker got what he deserved. I have a very good feeling he doesn't leave equipment in the middle of the tracks anymore. I'm surprised you don't see a problem with that. Wait, watch at 1:27 and you will see a problem.....

  • @vistaway3008 - those were runaway cars numbnuts - it's not like a freight train went plowing into a bunch of MOW equipment on the tracks. Runaway cars from a spur further up the track.

  • @ 5:01 Groundcontrol to Spacetrain, we have a liftoff. The bird has left the ground...

Thats a train tryin to fly....

  • What exactly occured at 1:06? It looks like it was taken on a cell phone camera.

  • YouTube is mindless. Nevertheless, many of these tests and incidents were highly instructive, even if crude and pioneering. I was impressed and relieved that the modern locomotives generally overran the freight cars.

  • i wanna have the strength to stop a train with raw strength

  • love it

  • WHOA 2:06 those couplers just disentegrated :b

  • 1:25 WTF THE STUPID AMERICAN TWAT IS PISSED OF BECAUSE ALL THE EQUIPMENT AND DONUTS HAS BEEN TAKEN OUT BY THE FRIEGHT TRAIN WHEN THE DRIVER OF THE TRAIN MUST OF DIED

  • @pu99u You're an idiot. Let me guess, you're a European who believes the stereotype that all Americans are fat and stupid? Here's a good dose of stupid for you, learn to at least make your sentances in English make sense before trying to bash anybody for being poorly educated.

  • @gibb1991 and ur a twat...... lol m8 its not a sterotpye that all americans r fat its fucking true go on the internet and look at the statistics and if u dnt believe me look at the film supersize me u fat cunt..... u fucking wanker.....and how u knowwhat proper english is u knob when ur american they use a diif type of english..... ur prob writing this whill easting a burger ur prob eating a supersize meal int ya fatty..... so shut up u fat fucking retarted fucking cunt

  • @pu99u I'm pretty sure "you're" is internationally recognized for "you are," not "ur." Statistics show that Americans weigh, on average, 190 lbs for men and 120 lbs for women. I am 180 lbs and six feet tall, perfectly healthy and normal for my size. Go get an education, retard.

  • boring

  • LOL at 0:44

  • at 2:23 lightning strikes, look closely.(i know its really the camera)

  • Trains take forever to stop my ass! Teachers dont know jack shit

  • How is this video flagged?

  • at 2:11 , talk about deep penetration haha

  • what was the 2nd to last one from

  • wow

  • nice vid

  • Most of these were tests.

  • BORING!

  • @Ralphc1000 How much did you watch the first part is boring but as the videos go on it get's better ending with a 100mph train crash.

  • i ought to do this for a living.... you know get to trash stuff in life.... Xi want to do the works like : Planes train and automobiles! :D

  • :43 ...wow that suks lmao XD

  • at 1:14 the guy filming is worries about the equipment..you would of thought, maybe hope no one got KILLED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! fuck the equipment!!!!!

  • @eromnoops1 No one was on the tracks or equipment, and I think they might have gotten a heads up about the runaway boxcars.

  • @eromnoops1 100000000000 percent thourough commert best comment in the world thank you

  • first crash train looks like a tram

you know the ones that were on san fransisco

  • @trainwreckmaster

    u mean a trolly

  • @Vodka069 in australia they are known as trams and in america they are "trollys" so you are both right. to me a "trolly" is what u use when u go shopping.

  • Excellent!

  • 7:56 on the left guy running for his life

  • Comment removed

  • wah?

  • Look at the filmer in 0:54

  • what happend to the first train

  • looks like a run-away carraige?!!?!

  • 0:17 Nice K5LA or which ever....

  • chooo choo

  • 2:23 lichtning!!

  • AHHHHHHHHHHHH!

  • !!!!!

  • A few of the remote control crashes look like the Metrolink crash here in LA a year ago

  • What the hell? Don't any of these trains have drivers?

  • 0:18 The switch threw while the last car was over it?

1:33 Looks like a good couple to me. Alright, pull away to see if the knuckles caught and if they did I'll hook up the air hoses.

2:42 Another good couple... Hell, that was so good we don't even need to hook up the air.

5:02 I'm not even gonna say it.

7:58 How they used to clear the wrecks in the old days.

8:02 Crap, didn't work. Ok bring in the next one guys.

    8:14 Thanks guys.

  • 4:00 perfect parking :)

  • Sounds to me lke they need 2 be re"train"ed.

  • 2:04-2:55 F*** ME!

  • He doesn't say,"I'm fired" he says, "On fire...done..."

  • so freight cars are just resting on the wheels?

  • No they are slow motion the force the engine hits the cars is so great that it breaks the bond that keeps the wheels and the car together.

  • There is not much that is holding the wheels to the train, it mostly is gravity.

  • @crapper1: If I understand your question, they aren't just simply resting on the trucks. They're attached via the center plate on top of the trucks, if I'm not mistaken. However, like Ham549 says, gravity is doing most of the work to get it to stay put.

  • 0.43 oh no oh nooo ohhhhh nooooo lolololololololol

  • i wanna see stuff blow up

  • cool vid, man

  • 1:29 is quite humorous when the guys says "I'm fired". No kidding buddy.

  • He says the stuff is on fire not that he is fired. that accident was not there fault.

  • @Ham549 ur such a d*ck people are just joking around so let them

  • He says "on fire" not "I'm fired"

  • WTF happened from 1:02 to 1:29?

  • @MossyOakRcn42 i think that there was a caboose on the tacks or the kids did something

  • @MossyOakRcn42

Looks like a train plowed through a Maint of way crews site, Happens in Britain constantly. (This is US Though.)

  • be careful out there my railfan friends

  • 4:10 Crappy russian trains

  • OMG THE TRAIN HAD PEOPLE IN IT!

  • what happened at 0:47?

  • A car full of wood chips or grain tipped over

  • Holy hell that was Harsh

  • on 3:45 it is specail railroad test

  • 3:45 epic fail lol

  • That was epic win the nuclear fule container stayed intact.

  • where is this fuel container?

  • Average loaded train traveling at 55 mph can take up to 2 miles to stop, and that is in dry weather. Some trains hae gone past the 2 mile mark, but average is up to 2 miles. Amazing isnt it?

  • Amazing? No. Totally erroneous. Yes.

What's an average train? Is it loaded or empty? 4000 tons? 2000 tons? 12000 tons?

The 2 mile figure is far too long. 1 mile for a very heavy train maybe.

  • 50 sec in lucky mother fucker lol

  • At the fourth clip did the train drive away from the..well i dont remember what its called, but its full of sand, and did the train drive away from it?

  • It was grain and yes and no a train takes time to stop so it kept moving even after the car tipped over. When a train comes apart the emergency breaks automatically come on so the train wouldn't have gone very far

  • It's woodchips. Those are open top chip hoppers.

  • did somone die

  • Don't think so.

  • I say the CGB do another test and let greenpeace be on the fucking train

  • @heyya2k8 thats right,,, ohh yea,, heard.

  • I was once a total Greenpeace believer..but their extreme methods and willingness to reach past rationality have turned me away.

They may have good intentions, but they have lost their grip, and are now just a bunch a wailing extremists...

  • ...and the (news) report in the UK refers to the "CEGB" the old state run "Central Electricity Generating Board" which used to run all power stations in the UK.

  • hmmm , what's the relationship with the 10 last seconds audio comment "Greenpeace vs CGB" ?

whasn't it about corn or wheat?

    Thx

  • They were testing if a container carrying nuclear fuel could withstand a full on train crash, and it did. Greenpeace said it didn't believe it was set up right and it was a hoax.

  • What was that war movie clip near the end? I saw that movie once a long time ago on the History Channel, but have no idea what it was called. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

  • I think it was called The Train and yes it did use real train crashes.

  • in the 2nd one what happends

  • The last train car had it's last set of wheels jump the switch and head down the track of the train that this was being filmed on, causing the car to "drift" into the stooped train.

  • they always seem to be the same train :O .. im scared

  • Uh 1:04 anyone care to explain that? It looks like they were working on the tracks, and a train came along, but I thought the tracks were closed when they were being worked on.

  • They are closed, but lose runaway boxcars can't read

  • holy nigga

    0:49

  • Whats that in the first clip? is it something on a runaway flat, because it looks more like a shed on wheels than a train.

  • Yes they were flat bed cars that hit a derail set on the track (and as the named implies it derails trains) and well derailed and stopped.

  • 0:36 I ain't cleanin that up!

  • To actually hear such an accident from a distance, I would say that it sounds like the worst continuous thunderstorm you've ever heard, And it's over with in seconds... terribly noisy to say the least and you can feel it shake the ground.

  • 03:45

    lol rocket bed

  • 2:25

"there goes the car, took out all of our equipment"

Here's a hint, dont leave it on the railway tracks.

  • Where the hell do you expect railroad track maintenance equipment to be DUH! that was a MOW crew working on the tracks the equipment was so post to be there.

  • Oh year, you can tell it was supposed to be there, right up until it gets HIT BY A TRAIN.

    (P.s, like the video)

  • Yeah those were railroad workers working on the track there was no train those were runaway boxcars (you can tell because there is no locomotive pushing or pulling them) IT WAS THE BOXCARS THAT WEREN'T SOPOST TO BE THERE. and again where would you expect to find railroad track repentance equipment but on the railroad tracks. see the link I sent you.

  • see this video watch?v=vWhXKHby03k

  • kk.

  • 1:00-1:30 Holy Shit indeed! Those were railroad maintenance equipment that were struck by a fast moving train.

  • 6:45 lmao !

  • i worked on cleaning up a derailment before, kinda cool to see how they piece everything back together..

  • Poor old EMD T-2's. Makes me think of post WW2 when many of the old bombers were chopped up for scrap. Alot of history lost there...

  • In another light, though, these crashes hopefully taught someone, somewhere, the effects of a potential crash and what could happen to a train. That's not to mention as well as teaching the locomotive designers as to what to try and protect the crew against...

  • HOLY SHIT!!!!!!!!! at 1:47 the couplers completely shattered!

  • Awsome!!! :)

  • Wicked I want moe

  • Watching some of the slow motion video it looks like train wheels aren't even bolted on. The ease at which they separate from the train is pretty spooky.

  • I don't think a lot of cars (freight mostly) actually do have wheels bolted on. I think they're held in place mostly under the weight of the car on top.

  • Train wheels are not bolted on the train sits on top of the axles using the sheer weight of the train. When the train needs new wheels its simply jacked up and a new axle set iis rolled under it and let back down.

  • 1:48 is slow motion for 1:41

  • it willbe better if some game company make a train grash game where everuone can grash theyre favorite train =)

  • What the fuck is a grash ?

  • I would like to know, too... LMAO, WTF of ppl we have here!!

  • Would like to know what?

  • Read what hotabich2008 (above me) said. Then read cornflakes002's comment. Now match them with my comment and you'll see where's the sense of my reply! ;)

  • yh lol

  • lmao young destructive mind you have =D

  • You can crash in Microsoft train Simulator

  • 0:17 wasn't a crash test, it seems like the fore cars simply derailed. So, who the hell would do test crashes with HUMANS???

  • Toot fucken toot, looks like they're tryin to bring the Dukes of Hazzard to rail... Love the ol steamers lets play chicken with trains... ;)

  • thats a song ( I play chicken with a train) i think its by coybow troy?

  • 6:47 - part of the intro scene for Railroad Tycoon 2!

  • Comment removed

  • holy crap

  • Holy Crap! 1:00

  • good!! i hate slideshows

  • at 6:08 do the windows even break?!?! in the cab...

  • what is the usefulness? I can't understand... why to waste some cash?

  • Extremely useful from the data they got from 1:37 and 5:54 they were able to make a safer train cars.

  • Thank you for exhaustive answer!

  • could somebody explain me what are those tiny flashes of light or electriticy or i dunno what that can be seen at the slowed versions of test crashes right after the collision? i'm relly curious of that!

  • Strobe light which appears to indicate precise moment of impact.

I do not know if they are triggered by movement (acceleration), or what.

  • hey, thanks a lot, I was thinking of something like cumulated electricity or heat or something like that, but they just didnt work somehow, i mean the ideas, i knew i was wrong... thanks again

  • its a lightbulb set there on purpose to flash upon impact, so you can see exactly when it makes contact

  • Ham549 is a LIAR.

This waste of time is mostly Real Train TEST crashes.

At beginning, runaway hopper car derailing at a switch or DERAIL?

  • But they still are crashes none the less.

  • whats really scary is how easily that Amtrak car was destroyed...holy shit

  • 2:18 total desturtion

  • 1:35 fail!

  • Can you provide any information about the first clip. Specifically was it a test, a true accident just caught on tape, what's the story if there is any behind the first clip?

  • the clip at 0:47 was shot on the Central Oregon & Pacific railroad in the 90's and i know the guy who shot the video two
