Because as you just said, its only a concept car (fancy name for "it will never reach production"). That engine weights a massive 670lbs and needs additional rooftop cooling for normal driving.

They also built a Biturbo V10 (RS8) and it completely burned down to the ground, because in a central-engined car extreme overheating problems do manifest in deadly ways.

Anyways, if you have the cash, what the hell. Ask Audi themselves to build a diesel R8 just for you.

It needs to be able to go through deep mud, and go offroad, all while towing a trailer that I use as mobile office/living quarters when I have to be on site for 1-2 weeks at a time. That audi has an environment-friendly euro4 engine, has a respectable fuel consuption, and by the way this is a luxury car, so you have everything that makes the driving easy and entertaining, but your neighbours don't get a heart attack, when you start the engine and rev it a lil bit.
