Great job! This is my favorite Bad Religion song and it's very appropriate for what's happening. I'm on the west side so I'm not getting as much smoke..but it's still difficult to breath.
the first rule of holes is, if you're in one, stop digging.
but no, you came right on in here with your global warming schise, and now you're babbling that we" dont get rid of brush" when i said that it's pretty much mandatory.
you don't have to, but then you'll either get it done by the local government at a huge cost or you'll die in the fire..... picke one of the three.
please pick up your free clue on your way out, or just sit back & enjoy the pics/tunes silently.
global warming? you fool.... this is what happens when you don't let mother nature burn off the brush every few years, as the local vegetation has evolved to do, and instead let it build up fuel for 40 years or so. sooner or later it will burn, and what should be no big deal turns into a huge, unstoppable monster. it's human stupidity at it's best, so you should feel right at home.
Well what else can it be, there's millions of cars on the planet in la all that smog and smog cant be helping after all the ice is melting the bible said fires flloods and droughts.
ya, partially right Irishmale, climate change has meant desertification of Southern Cal. Any Angelinos remember the last time we had a decent rain here in LA?
We already saw what climate change fueled draught did to Australia's fire season, think it was earlier this year.
Southern California *IS* a freaking desert and has been for long enough for all the native plants and animals to living in one. it rains a bit in the winter, everything grows in the spring, then shuts down for the summer, and then starts over. many of the plants don't even germinate new seeds unless they've been heated in a fire. this area is *supposed* to burn, and it did every few years until people decided to 'save' everything by preventing fires. all that does is build up fuel.
the damage caused by the fires in Oz was mostly because the environitwits wouldn't let anyone clear brush around the buildings to keep the fire away. here in Lost Angels, we have mandatory brush clearance by late spring, or the city does it for you and sends you the bill. it's also why you can't have cedar shake roofs, and lots of other things. you live in a fire zone, you take precautions, or you die. droughts come and go. fire, OTOH, is forever.
the fires are part of the natural ecosystem in Southern California. If you don't let the brush burn every 3 years or so, things start to go wrong, and then when it finally does burn, you actually cause more damage than if you had just let it burn when it wanted to. If you don't know anything about the ecosystem, please don;t try and discuss it.
Have you ever taken the time and think that it may be just part of are climate? We may be right in the midldle of the change and everyone says its global warming.
floods, fires, droughts, big storms will happen its part of life.
