i just bought a little red siamese fighting fish and my other one fight threw the glass... Its funny and at the petstore their siamese dnt have heater or filter for christ sakes ppl. Siamese fighting fish are fine in a smallish area not too small but the fish here have plenty of room.

It's not unusual to house fighting fish like this. They flare up when they see each other for a little while, but they grow accustomed to it very quickly and it's not stressful for them.

If anything, when I had mine separated they lost their colour and were not eating properly, but when I put them in a tank like this their colour brightened up, they ate more and were making lots of bubbles (which means they're happy and healthy) :)

This in fact lenghtens their lives. Flaring increases the heart rate and make the blood to increase to enhance their colours but if you havent noticed that they dont flare all the time, only sometimes

Those tiny tanks are for showing/displaying, they are not intended for the fish to live in. Minimum tank size should be 5 gallons with a heater, water temp 78-82F.

You keep the male and female in separate containers to keep from physical contact, but allow them to see each other to build tolerance. In the wild, there is enough room and obstacles for a female to hide from a chasing male. Eventually the male accepts the female and they breed. Research more to find out :D
