In France and Italy, I've seen elevator buttons, if you push them a second time, they go unlit. Like a switch on/switch off system. It's not very useful, but what the hell, why not have them.

Good catch!

Here's why: Elevators in some buildings only go up halfway, then another elevator-bank goes up the second half of the way. It avoids long waits.

This was filmed in a REAL elevator; usually films just have an obviously fake elevator with cheap little closet-doors.
