We are Harry Potter's Horcruxes, because a part of Harry will always live inside us until we die. Like Voldemort, Harry Potter cannot be killed until all his Horcruxes are destroyed. So while we live, us, HP generation, Harry Potter will never die.
No idea why, but that song reminds me on Narnia (especially on the war o.O) however, beautiful soundtrack to an amazing movie, based on superb books :)
The movies first came out when I was.. lets see about 2 or 3 years old, and I can't believe I hated these books until i was in 4th grade. It's heart breaking for me to see it all end. I wish I had been able to grown up with the charactors, but it will always stay in my heart. Harry Potter will live on FOREVER and we will pass this story on to our children and our children's children. (If they don't want to read it, I'll force them to). I cried during the whole movie (Deathly Hallows Part 2)
@beamahjoub i'm just like you :'( , i was 3 when the first movie came out , and i didn't like it , until 4th grade too o: . know , when i'm hearing this i just want to crie cause it's over :c
Its never the end:) Harry Potter will live through this generation, and onto our kids. Hogwarts is made now and that will be there for a very long time. Like alot of people I grew up with Harry Potter and I SOBBED during the last one, I'm just going to make sure I continue to write fanfiction, and force my children to read Harry Potter:)
I've grew up alongside harry ron n hemione too :( i was 3 when they started harry potter n im now 14 :( Im soo depressed now dh part 2 is out, i saw it the 1st night it was out n i cried all the way thru it :( Harry potters my life. There is some sadness in leaving the theatre and knowing you'll never return for another HP premiere, but there is also a great sense of relief, and achievement in knowing that we've done it. We've done it all. We took the journey, read the books, saw the movies, and now they will always be there for us, because we have earned them, as loyal fans. No more waiting or guessing. The world of Harry Potter is ours, forever, whenever we want now.
Harry Potter is not over on July 15th. If you are a true Harry Potter fan then you will listen to the great words of Albus Dumbldore; 'I will only truly have left this school when none here are loyal to me...', 'To the well organized mind, death is but the next great adventure.' The Harry Potter phenomonon is not going to die, but move on, away from the actors. It is sad, but we still have the themepark, pottermore, and hey, she might even write more books? ;)
When I grow up, I'm going to revisit all things related to Harry Potter again and tell my kids, "This is the best movie ever." And pass all my Harry Potter books down.
@andyscotger Mundungus is someone who's part of the order, but he's a coward and a thief. Mad eye is also part of the order, but totally the opposite of mundungus. They're two quite different characters :)
@SweetAngell1234 So that there would be another villian to consider later on for Alastors death and the whole battle that caused it. Plus he's convenient to lead to the locket horcrux.

@TheBatboyofdarkness But at least you can avoid complaining like a bitch like you we're doing: "the movie sucked buffalo ass" "desplat is a hack" "yates sucks!" "the only Potter composer is Williams!". That's being rude and annoying. It's better to say "I don't like it" and that's it.

Let's hope she gets the urge to continue writing...
@cheetos482 It will never be the end, Harry, Ron and Hermione live in all of us in our memorys, in our hearts. In a way they are immortal, as long as we remember them and read Harry Potter to our kids and grandchildren. You just have to remember one phrase. Always until the very end.
@TheBatboyofdarkness Everyone has their own opinions. Personally, I think this is the best HP movie yet. But I guess I can't say that until part 2 comes out, since I can't judge Deathly Hallows from Part 1 alone.
@TheBatboyofdarkness I hated what he did to the 5th and 6th movies (worst Harry Potter movies IMO) but I think he did a great job with this one. This one's my favorite HP movie now. You have to admit, this one's a lot better than the last 2 movies
For me, the worst one will always be Goblet of Fire by Mike Newell. I loved fifth one, very well done and sixth one, well, it could be better. But seriously, GoF was shit.
@nastyplot555 Excuse me? Order of the Phoenix was the worst one of the lot!
Are you a fan of the books or films? Because Ootp movie is an insult to an amazing book.
But I can agree that GoF wasn't up to scratch. For me, that film will always be known as "The Emma Watson Eyebrow Saga" which is a shame because I do love her.
Not to mention - cutting out that ridiculous chase scene in the first task they could have had the World Cup, and Krum could have had more than one line in the film!
I suppose you're one of those Ootp haters, but if you read the book again and watch the film, you will see it's a great summary to an overrated trama. That fifth book was the most boring of the saga. What did Yates leave in the movie? The hospital scene with Lockhart? Yes, I consider myself a huge HP nerd and trust me, fifth one was really well done.
@nastyplot555 Ootp was a garbled mess, from cinematography to script. Not only was the film comprised of multiple montages, a majority if the book (which was one of the best books) was left out or changed.
The prophecy, Cho Chang's role, quidditch - there is only so much I can type with limited space.
The fact that the film was turned more into a shallow comedy, with hints of melodrama is just an insult.
Whether this is because Kloves was not involved or because of Yates I do not know.
@AussieEvanescenceFan Kloves didn't write "Phoenix" since he was exhausted from the work on "Goblet". In an interview, he repeatedly turned down "Phoenix" after being asked several times, and then Heyman went to Michael Goldenberg. Goldenberg was writing the script for OOTP before Yates was hired. I liked Goldenberg's work on OOTP, it felt fresh and true to the spirit of the novel (despite the numerous cuts). Then Kloves came back for the last three movies... :-(
@TheBatboyofdarkness I'm sorry but Yates has already made both Deathly Hallows films. Also, he tried to brought Williams but he couldn't because of War Horse.
@TheBatboyofdarkness Oh, I forgot. Williams barely used more the Hedwig's theme in POA (fully used in Lumos! Mischief Managed!, and the winter transition scene with Hedwig flying, and hinted in A Window To The Past and Secrets Of The Castle), than Desplat in DH (counting the CD release, and the movie, there's like six hints of the theme).
@TheBatboyofdarkness One more thing. Hedwig's theme doesn't make a score great. If could have used it more, but if he do it, it would have ruined the movie, and the score could have been, a score inspired by Williams, not a Desplat score. Like what happened with Debney's Predators. What makes a score great is its own themes and identity, and how well overall it is written and performed. If you don't like it, okey. It's your problem. To me, it's the best non-Williams Potter score
@TheBatboyofdarkness By the way, Desplat said that he really loves Williams's music, and there's a lot of references of it in Deathly Hallows. Bathilda Bagshot and Destroying The Locket sounds like Williams's War of the Worlds. Sky Battle, Fireplaces Escape and Rescuing Hermione sounds like Williams's action music. And Farewell To Dobby is like Williams's A Window To The Past, but much more heartbreaking
@TheBatboyofdarkness Maybe the fact that the theme doesn't fit anymore in the series? And also, that when Hedwig died, her theme died with her? Besides, Desplat is a Harry Potter fan, so he knew how to use the Williams's theme in the film. And his score perfectly captures the spirit of the book
How did you choose where to quote the famous Williams theme?
"David Yates and I chose to quote the theme at very precise moments, when Harry is slowly, but surely, drifting away from his childhood, losing his innocence. And when another major character gets killed".
@TheBatboyofdarkness Yes, the Hedwig's theme rendtion at Polujuice Potion it's on the film. It's when Hagrid said that when he broght Harry to Privet Drive he was as small as a bowtrunkle, and when Harry let Hedwig out of her cage. The rendition of the theme in The Will, doesn't sounds in the movie. That would be when Scrimgeour is talking about the Gryffindor Sword.
@TheBatboyofdarkness In the CD it's in Polyjuice Potion (min. 3:08, 3:20), Sky Battle (1:51, 2:02) and The Will (2:17). Desplat, unlike Williams, doesn't throw the themes on our faces. He want us to discover them. mcjwserenity is right. And by the way, Hedwig's theme was used in the score during the scenes when Harry is losing his childhood. Also, there's a lot of reference of Williams's music on the score. Especially in action tracks like Sky Battle, Fireplaces Escape and Rescuing Hermione.
people SHOULD reconsider their reviews(or final thoughts) of this soundtrack of them saying that there is no continuity in it when there certainly is!!! people, he DOES have the hedwig theme in there, it's just hidden!!
@SpiderBoy992 It's true. Desplat is a very subtle composer. He's not the kind of composer who wants to throw the themes at someone. You have to find out of them.
I swear, i have not been this moved by music since John Williams. The last film score will be so powerful......I don't have words to describe what I'm feeling right now.
@Harleyite So DID I... but now I have bad news for you: John Williams DON'T compose the score for the second part!!! Desplat will do it again. I red it at a Harry Potter-Page... So no Williams for Harry Potter 7.2!!!!!!!!! I'm sorry...
This is the cue for the news of the death of Mad-Eye Moody...I can see Tonks and Lupin arriving at the Burrow, and Bill and Fleur, too. Mrs. Weasley and Hermione are crying. They all look to the sky in remembrace of the great Alastor "Mad-Eye" Moody. Bravo Desplat.
The fact that Alexandre has referenced John Williams earlier Harry Potter themes, the true classics of the entire series IMO, shows how he not only respects John himself, but respects the film series identity with the themes that John Williams wrote, especially the theme that became the sound of Harry Potter: Hedwig's Theme. He understood that John Williams wrote the soundscape of Harry Potter and that in order to serve the film well, you needed to reference these earlier themes, well done!!
@doublemgprod completely agreed and the fact that Alexandre Desplat is actually collaborating with Williams for the final film (part 2) is going to be epic
@CaptainPriceLives I don't think it was WB I think it was themselves. Any self respecting composer makes sure in a series he doesn't mess up the style and tone of the movie. Doyle didn't reference much to Williams and personally I'm glad he did one film - Hedwig's theme (The theme of the series) only appears once with Doyle and its not at the beginning, its right place. Here Desplat really references to HP3 in some places but he does also refer to Doyle and Hooper which I'm glad to see and here.
I absolutely love how he alluded to music from earlier in the series. I think that recognition is what will take this movie from great to exceptional.
Although I think's there's some New Moon-ish characteristics to this (sucks) I think there are some tiny references to previous Potter soundtracks, listen closely to the first seconds..
Now that I'm listening to the whole soundtrack again I keep finding these tiny references to Williams' scores, which I think is just perfect!!! Can't wait

The prophecy, Cho Chang's role, quidditch - there is only so much I can type with limited space.
The fact that the film was turned more into a shallow comedy, with hints of melodrama is just an insult.
Whether this is because Kloves was not involved or because of Yates I do not know.
AussieEvanescenceFan 1 year ago
@AussieEvanescenceFan Kloves didn't write "Phoenix" since he was exhausted from the work on "Goblet". In an interview, he repeatedly turned down "Phoenix" after being asked several times, and then Heyman went to Michael Goldenberg. Goldenberg was writing the script for OOTP before Yates was hired. I liked Goldenberg's work on OOTP, it felt fresh and true to the spirit of the novel (despite the numerous cuts). Then Kloves came back for the last three movies... :-(

Ha! Right! Now all the Yates haters must shut their mouthes
nastyplot555 1 year ago 3
@TheBatboyofdarkness I'm sorry but Yates has already made both Deathly Hallows films. Also, he tried to brought Williams but he couldn't because of War Horse.
yonythemoony 1 year ago
@TheBatboyofdarkness Oh, I forgot. Williams barely used more the Hedwig's theme in POA (fully used in Lumos! Mischief Managed!, and the winter transition scene with Hedwig flying, and hinted in A Window To The Past and Secrets Of The Castle), than Desplat in DH (counting the CD release, and the movie, there's like six hints of the theme).
yonythemoony 1 year ago
@TheBatboyofdarkness One more thing. Hedwig's theme doesn't make a score great. If could have used it more, but if he do it, it would have ruined the movie, and the score could have been, a score inspired by Williams, not a Desplat score. Like what happened with Debney's Predators. What makes a score great is its own themes and identity, and how well overall it is written and performed. If you don't like it, okey. It's your problem. To me, it's the best non-Williams Potter score
yonythemoony 1 year ago
@TheBatboyofdarkness By the way, Desplat said that he really loves Williams's music, and there's a lot of references of it in Deathly Hallows. Bathilda Bagshot and Destroying The Locket sounds like Williams's War of the Worlds. Sky Battle, Fireplaces Escape and Rescuing Hermione sounds like Williams's action music. And Farewell To Dobby is like Williams's A Window To The Past, but much more heartbreaking
yonythemoony 1 year ago
@TheBatboyofdarkness Maybe the fact that the theme doesn't fit anymore in the series? And also, that when Hedwig died, her theme died with her? Besides, Desplat is a Harry Potter fan, so he knew how to use the Williams's theme in the film. And his score perfectly captures the spirit of the book
yonythemoony 1 year ago
@TheBatboyofdarkness It's what Desplat said:
How did you choose where to quote the famous Williams theme?
"David Yates and I chose to quote the theme at very precise moments, when Harry is slowly, but surely, drifting away from his childhood, losing his innocence. And when another major character gets killed".
yonythemoony 1 year ago
@TheBatboyofdarkness Yes, the Hedwig's theme rendtion at Polujuice Potion it's on the film. It's when Hagrid said that when he broght Harry to Privet Drive he was as small as a bowtrunkle, and when Harry let Hedwig out of her cage. The rendition of the theme in The Will, doesn't sounds in the movie. That would be when Scrimgeour is talking about the Gryffindor Sword.
yonythemoony 1 year ago
@TheBatboyofdarkness In the CD it's in Polyjuice Potion (min. 3:08, 3:20), Sky Battle (1:51, 2:02) and The Will (2:17). Desplat, unlike Williams, doesn't throw the themes on our faces. He want us to discover them. mcjwserenity is right. And by the way, Hedwig's theme was used in the score during the scenes when Harry is losing his childhood. Also, there's a lot of reference of Williams's music on the score. Especially in action tracks like Sky Battle, Fireplaces Escape and Rescuing Hermione.
yonythemoony 1 year ago
@TheBatboyofdarkness He used "Hedwig's Theme" in the score several times (he also used Conrad Pope to orchestrate). Let me list them for you.
1) A slightly dissonant version of "Hedwig's Theme" appears as the WB logo emerges from the clouds.
2) A fragment is heard when Harry looks under the stairs (also used when Dobby dies).
3) It's heard three times during the Seven Potters sequence/sky chase.
Desplat didn't use Hedwig's Theme often, b/c the trio isn't at Hogwarts. He'll use it more in Pt2.

Who would consider that Alexandre Desplat would be an excellent alternative for Howard Shore if he couldn't return to do "The Hobbit" Pts. 1&2?
If he could recapture the spirit of John Williams he can do the same for Howard Shore.

and i thought Hans Zimmer was the best composer..it turns out that i am wrong after listening to all of HP7 soundtrack!!!
Theshosho77 1 year ago
people SHOULD reconsider their reviews(or final thoughts) of this soundtrack of them saying that there is no continuity in it when there certainly is!!! people, he DOES have the hedwig theme in there, it's just hidden!!
SpiderBoy992 1 year ago 2
@SpiderBoy992 It's true. Desplat is a very subtle composer. He's not the kind of composer who wants to throw the themes at someone. You have to find out of them.

He understood that John Williams wrote the soundscape of Harry Potter and that in order to serve the film well, you needed to reference these earlier themes, well done!!

davedirector7 1 year ago
@doublemgprod I agree, but Hooper did that as well, and so did Doyle, I think WB makes them.
CaptainPriceLives 1 year ago 2

Can't wait
