Point sparring is very useful if you know how to adapt it. There are several great point fighters on the NBL circuit that have done full contact also and beat the crap out of their opponent. Why? Because they know how to adapt their footwork and techniques to full contact. Matter of fact there really isn't to much to change except hit hard and omit some techniques. Instead of a back fist use a jab. Simple changes but adaptive point fighting is very effective in a real fight.
@MSKSk8r1210 Well, on less experienced people and to avoid killing our partners, we use control anyway. Ditto on the point sparring being a failure. I hate that game.
They are training for point sparring, which is a game of speed only, to a bunch of white belts. It's a game of martial arts tag. It teaches speed and accuracy only, it's not fighting. However, if you think kajukenbo's a joke, you got another thing comin'.
@taxiquoter Than why do I punch a LOT harder, faster, and more accurately than every boxer I know? They do PUSH the bag farther than me, but they rather to hit each other than for me to get a shot in on their gut. I'm not saying boxing is bad.
@ThePresidentFreeman You should be boxing and making MILLIONS OF DOLLARS! My guess is that you will wonder into a REAL boxing club and then be force fed a heaping helping of HUMILITY. What these people are doing is sport and that's perfectly fine but don't delude yourself into thinking that you can swap punches with a REAL boxer. It appears all of these people are having a good time, getting exercise, learning to respect themselves and possibly respect others... and that's great. Peace
we get it karate is gay and that slip punch??? wtf is that do they know nothing of angles always follow the center line and dont give up your back especially after a weak body shot like that
