I think that so called "fifth generation" of video games, the console era of the Nintendo 64, Playstation and Sega Saturn (and Dreamcast) was the best generation of video games. There was just so much out there for each console.

lol...its funny because back when this game cam out....temco wasent even thinking about having clones made.....and all the extra things going on in doa 2-dimensions....lol this game was like a trial game to see if people would buy it....and when they did temco had to come up with sumthing better each time...so they kept adding to the story plaot...

I always thought DOA was the best ver on ps1becuase most of all 3D fighting games had more success on ps1, but i bought the xbox DOA2 ult package and they talk about how wonderful DOA is in the book manual that came with the package, that is the Sega saturn DOA?

Well i always thought Saturn was the king of 2d fighting?

Does anyone have any thoughts on this?

It's pretty obvious they did some editing on this opening, because Ayane was in the original intro.

Ayane wasn't in the original Doa 1 she came in the PSX version this is the original Doa1 in Ultimate so no editing

Yep, Doa came out 1st in the arcade's then Sega then PS1 Ayane was introduced in the PS version DOAU1 uses the original Sega version

Yes Ayane was in the 1st DOA game. She was a special bonus character you get to fight if you did really well through out the game. I got her several times when I played it.
