  • The loss of someone so young, just starting out in life is hard. It is sure be the most painful for you Maggie and Bob as Sam’s parents. I am sorry for your loss. There are no words that will make this loss easier to deal with. As a parent and as a veteran I hope that somehow, someday you will be able to find some peace at the end of this long road.

  • I miss and love you Sam. :)

  • Maggie and Bob, thank you for your sacrifice and sharing Sam with all of us . . . she is a hero and so are the both of you to me!!!!

  • i am in the military...i already served in both afghanistan and iraq..i am goin back again for the second time in iraq.....she is one great soldier. i might not know her, but i have been there....Pfc Sam Huff rest in peace...........

  • On a scale of 1 to 10 , Sam was an 11. She is a true American hero.

  • What the hell was she doing in the army anyway ?

    Defending her country ?

She was so cute, so young so full of life and everything.

    That is a tragedy.

    She was younger than me.

  • When I read the birth date and the last date I realize that 1986 is the year my son was born. He graduated High School in 2005. He chose a different path. He went to University and is now a teacher. Why do things turn out the way they do? I dont know. I dont have any answers. Perhaps someday we will learn that there is a better way of solving mankinds problems.

This video is a wonderful tribute.

  • I also was moved by this video,im an Aussie soldier and to,have served in Iraq.My sadness goes out to her family and friends,Such a tragic loss of one of gods most beautiful creations. R.I.P Sam Huff, and to all my brothers and sisters still serving overseas; Stay safe ang god bless you all!!

  • several people said, well if she lost both of her legs maybe its a good thing she died.and im thinking, are you crazy? i know sam would have adjusted to her injury and i think she probably would have been a motivational speaker in that regard.but when people say things like that it makes you realize that something like this has never happened to them before and they dont know what to say.

  • she died doing what she loved and believed in.thank you sam huff for your service.

  • this video is so sad. i read her story in rollingstone magezine.

  • I remember Sam so well. She was in my company and she was my roomate in Iraq. I miss her! RIP.

  • I remember her story! this young woman was breath-takingly beautiful. she could have done anything she wanted pretty much but from the moment she graduated highschool, she enlisted the army. Sam W. Huff! we need more women like you. God Bless You! R.I.P

  • I am so very moved by this video. As a soldier myself, I understand the loss of life. You can never completely get over the loss however, we can continue to share the stories of someone like Sam so they continue to live on through us. God bless you Sam and may he keep you in his loving arms.

  • I don't have the words to describe what I feel.

  • very moving,so young and beautiful, such a waste of life with so much life in front of her,i cant say much more without getting political, this isnt the time or place for that, rest in peace sam

  • She was a blessing to all who knew her.

  • From what I read about her, she'd likely hate me for posting such comments. That's ok. I'd rather her hate me and still be alive. Women can fight/serve valiantly in combat - there's no doubt. Somehow, though, losing someone like this in this way just doesn't feel right to me. Perhaps I'm too protective. Perhaps she was too beautiful. I don't know. It breaks my heart either way.

  • I'm sorry if this is chauvinistic, but it's not rooted in chauvinism. I know Sam wanted to be where she was. We, as men, enlist and fight partly so that beautiful creatures like Sam Huff should never, ever have to suffer the same fate.

  • Such a waste of life.

  • I know how yall feel...Much Love to the family & friends of Sam Williams Huff.

  • thanks for sharing. very moving!
