Chi! There were manga books made on Chi in a series called Crobits. I've recently read 6 out of 8 of them and I've loved them (I wanna know what happens at the end!). I didn't really like using Illustrator to make line art. It has advantages I suppose but I don't really like it. I suppose I perfer Photoshop now - thanks for this video! ^-^

I'm sorry, but do you know how to alter the thickness of the lines, the color to?

when you use the pen tool and trace over it, all that is traced over it is the paint brush you have selected with the brush tool

just change the size of the brush and change the color, and then try tracing over your lines. This should change the thickness and the color.

Thanks. Sorry for the music, I happened to finish downloading an IOSYS discography that day. I couldn't find one of their songs anywhere, so I ended up downloading their 10 gb discography, most of which I had no use for. Which is why some of it ended up on this video. Just to let you know.

This video actually helped, you just have to know the basics of the pen tool. You can't watch this without any prior knowledge or you'll be confused shitless.

Anyway, if you didn't like it, why not just press the back button and look for a better tutorial instead of bitching about the "point of the video".

I'm pretty sure I picked a regular circle brush, I think it was either 3px or 5px. Then choose the simulate pressure option.

It's an IOSYS song. If you want, you can private message me and I will gladly upload the song and give you the link for it. I would tell you what its called, but I don't know how to translate Japanese to English.

Actually, let me correct that. All of them are IOSYS songs (I forgot that I put more than one song). If you want the first song, I will gladly upload it, etc etc. If you want any song after, I would have to search through all 300 of their songs since I don't even know what they're called (again, I don't know how to translate Jap -> Eng). You could download their discography and look yourself (look on some torrent trackers, braw), but if you get vanned by the RIAA, that's your problem.

When I scan my pencil art(on A4 paper) and open it using photoshop it's so small that when it comes to using the pen tool the lines are not smooth. How can I fix this problem? Someone please help. Thank you :)

how small, exactly? If its not that small, do what I did and enlarge/zoom into the image.

Although whenever I scan images, the result is usually a very large .png... maybe you should play around with your scanner settings? What are you doing/using to import your scans?

it's 6031*1206. I know this isn't small but when I zoom into the page and use the smallest size brush it's still too thick to make outlines of the face. I just scan save as JPEG and open with photoshop. Thanks for the reply anyway.
