  • I have read a few of the negative responses and I think you are all wrong. If what you are sayin was true. I dont think the little people in this world would have the respect they do get.

And his life was not a waste. And if you really feel the way you say you do get up off your ass and make this world a better place.

  • Peace on Earth to All of Good Will.

  • I think this version was used in the third movie, "Billy Jack goes to Washington".

  • This isn't bad, but I think the original has more emotion poured into it, it just isn't fancy in any way. And I mean the one this is a cover of, not the one this band did of this same song before. Don't get me wrong, this is really well done, it just, for me personally, doesn't carry the same amount of emotion, s'all.

  • I also feel this is the best version. Glad to finally found it after listening to all the other ones.

  • This is the best version (in my opinion) . I'm a drummer and this version has a very tasty drum track. Wish I knew who it was.. Anyone know? Someone told me a young Jeff Porcarro was involved. anyone know? wouldn't suprise me a bit

  • no after the Vietnam war was over..the powers that be decided this peace =people =earth movement was done...so they did the slick willy to us..and we fell for it line and sinker..now instead of a clean planet..a happy healthy human race..we have this...

  • a good song with a good lesson to bad no one seams to be listening

  • love this song. i first heard it at summer camp many years ago.

  • I love both Coven versions of this song(the one from Billy Jack is fantastic!!)..but under headphones, this one does sound a little rawer and more rockin' and less orchestrated!!Jinx's voice is absolutely the best!I love everything she does!!Coven rules!!

  • imo this is the best version of the song. Gotta give credit to the band that did it first though "The Original Caste". I don't know how or why so many people got to record the same song at the same time.

anyway Jinx is one of the greatest singers ever and the bass and horns in this version are better than the others because these musicians are superior imo.

  • She sounds more pissed off, and there subtitle horn differences too

  • Original Caste ftw, but this is good too.

  • i like the Original Caste version but this is more Rock \m/ better drumming too..

  • OMG! This is it! THANK you for uploading this! I haven't heard this version in 35 years!

  • I gotta agree with you, boyjohn. This has always been my favorite version.

  • Suitable for the Christmas season?

  • The 1973 MGM version of "One Tin Soldier" by Coven didn't make the Top 40 reaches.

  • @heine71 Peaked at #79 in the summer of 1973

  • @boyjohn Then in 1974 the original Coven "One Tin Soldier" was recharted and ranked low its second time (or third time if you include the 1973 re-recording that charted).

  • Never heard this version. Sounds good, nice change of pace over the previous version but still get to hear Jinx's great voice!

  • Ditto ... This is the best version of this song. Both the singer and drummer are inspired here, where the original is a bit slow and subdued. Punchy.

  • I like this version the best as well. It sounds better rocked up a bit and love those horns.

  • Much prefer this version to the original.

  • @mongoose636 This version sucks compared to the original. The vocals are too "forced". Original Caste rocks forever!!

  • @36028 He may be comparing this version (as I mention in the notes) to the original Coven version on Warner Bros. (from the Billy Jack movie), not the "original" original version from Original Caste, which is hardly known in the U.S.

  • @36028 What do you mean the voices are too forced?

  • @heine71 The vocals from Original Caste are "smoother" than that of Coven. It's just a great song with two versions. Had I heard Coven's before I heard Original Caste, I would definitely agree with the Coven camp.

Punchy is a better description than forced. Forced implies bleeding vocal cords.

  • @36028 Jinx Dawson's vocal is more emotional. I'll take Coven every time.

  • @demonhoopa And Megadeth ,Slayer, and Skinny Puppy, too. DEATH METAL RULES!

  • @handinside Isn't Skinny Puppy "Industrial"? Either way, I like all those bands (not sure what they have to do with Jinx Dawson but what the heck. :D )
