  • Exelent!!! thanks For the video

  • oleksä suomalainen?

  • @TheBrandomized

  • I hear roland cube here :)

  • @mpalin11 dude I wanna fuck that guitar, is it worth the money ? btw can it do melodic death metal ? I know that it hasn't emg's in it but can it still do some tricks ? Thanks for the video!

  • @varigleridante696 haha nice comment! It isn't a superduper great guitar but for the price it's very good (I mean it's nothing compared to my ESP Eclipse, for example) and for death metal? It depends on what kinda amp you have, with an amp you can get a death metal tone and so on ... What do you mean with tricks?

  • @mpalin11 well I play guitar for like 4 years and I thought to buy an explorer, not to cheap and not to expensive but atleast a little bit nasty when its about sound if you know what I mean, when I said tricks I meant about the sound (sry idk english so well xD) yeah I know that money makes the all thing rolling but yeah as I said in the beginning just a fine guitar to play some metal. Again sorry for my shity english and thanks for the fast respond!

  • oh yeah I'm using a laney lx35r amp just a fine to practice on, I know that it is not a peavey or a line6 but shit :/

  • @varigleridante696 Dude, if you live in europe, buy the guitar from this site(I'll send you the link in personal message because you cant comment links by some wierd reason huh ), it's completely safe. Ive buyed two guitars from there, you get it like a week after order. And there's a 3 year warranty. If you live in europe, buy is here and now in a store. It's smart to try play it in a store though. Check your youtube message box.

    Cheers!

  • @Cancerholocaust thank you pal for the help. I don't know really if I'm gonna buy the guitar from their site. I already found a store that is close to me and where I can try and buy the guitar so thanks again I really appreciate it! Now that I found some different models from the ESP/LTD I'm wondering how is the LTD MH-50 ? It has same pickups (aldo some people say that those in the MH-50 are better ) and most of the stuff that the EX 50 has, but yeah this one has a tremolo, a better nut etc.

  • @varigleridante696

I have to say a word of warning: At least to my experience, cheap guitars with tremolos aren't really good. Cheap tremolo systems are more of a pain in the ass than useful. In my opinion one should buy a GOOD tremolo if one wants one.

  • @mpalin11 ok I'll keep your words of wisdom in my mind lol thanks for the info! \m/

  • @varigleridante696 No problem man.

  • @HeavyTwannieBoy Who the fuck though metallica was pop? The ignorance..

  • Great Review Thanks!

  • im looking for a nice guitar and affordable cz im a student to play metal with. im planning on putting EMG kirk hammett pickups in it. would this be an nice guitar to choose?

  • @123italiano321

First thought: Wouldn't an expensive pickup set like that cost approximately as much as the actual guitar? :D I dunno man, this is a relatively cheap guitar and it doesn't have expensive woods or anything like that. I personally wouldn't make a change like that ...

  • @mpalin11 it only would cost around 200 - 250 dollar (euro here).. so it would be cheaper then a expensive guitar

  • @123italiano321

Yes I know but I think putting expensive pickups on an inexpensive guitar is like drinking cheap wine out of a crystal glass: It surely is a bit nicer but actually it doesn't change the essence of the product

  • @mpalin11 i understand that but i dont need to sound completely like kirk hammett for example. i just want it to sound a bit like metallica and other trash metal bands like slayer and megadeth..

or could you reconmend me osmething better for maximum 750 dollar? id prefer a floyd rose and EMG pickups. I already have an epiphone les paul LE with humbuckers

  • In my oppinon the Eclipse models look cooler but the ex is pretty awesome too.

  • Last annotation redirecting to a private video :/

  • @Diandredofus

hmm I'm not the one controlling that, unfortunately :/

  • A guitar with a "don't throw with other rubbish" sign or whatever??

  • Great review, mate! Thinking about buying this guitar! That was helpful! :-)

  • is that finnish guy?

  • Whats the action like??

  • @RUNnGUNify

I think it's very nice, you can set it pretty low. I think all ESP/LTD guitars have good action - they can be set pretty low and not have fret buzz.

  • How is sitting down with this thing?

  • @HeavyTwannieBoy Yeah, just because they have sign. guitars right? Then you should play Behemoth, Dimmu Borgir, Deftones, Bullet For My Valentine, Children of Bodom and Atreyu too, just to name a few bands that have sign. guitars too. ESP is metal, metallica is pop. And you could also play metal on a Fender of whatever suits you.

  • @mpalin11 Hey, I am looking for something awesome to play , good for Metal but other styles too...oh , and a modest price.

    Any suggestions?:D

  • @MitsuMetal

*sigh* I'm getting sick of answering this question so many times :D I think ESP (and LTD) guitars are awesome, go to a store where they sell them and try them out. The guitar will pick you.

  • @mpalin11 Thanks for the response .

  • i am thinking of getting one and it will be my second guitar would you recomend it?

  • @ilike2eat66

*sigh* This is the most common question that I am asked :D That's why I made the video in the first place. In the video I told you what I like about it and what I don't like about it. It's quite good but I don't know what level of quality you are looking for. Watch the video and make your own decision.

  • Very nice. I own a jackson RR3 and a fender telecaster '72 deluxe reissue. I'm thinking about getting the ex-50 in white as an upgrade/muck around guitar. Your accent makes everything sound so metal btw! Makes me think of alexi laiho lol.

  • I got me an EX-50 in Metallic silver recently. It is waaaay better than my LTD M15.

  • @mpalin11 what about the ex-360

  • @TheJdmman2 I haven't tried that guitar that much, but I believe it should be somewhat better than the ex-50.

  • would u recommend this guitar for a 2nd guitar?

  • @TheJdmman2

Hmm why not. It has its good sides - in general I quite like its tone, the clean stuff and so on. It depends a litte bit on what kinda stuff you are playing. It's well worth the money at least.

  • Oot vissii suomesta. Joo ei mtn ite ostamas LTD EX 401fm mallii. Ja hyvä arvostely. Jag gillar näin ruotsalaisittain. Itse siis suomalainen :D

  • damn the dist sucks :S i hope it sounds good otherwise :)

  • Hey,can you tell me which is better for a second guitar??LTD-AX-50 , EX-50 or V-50??Please reply..

  • @adityaluvsmuzik

I'm sorry, I haven't tried the AX or V models, but since they are all of the 50 series, they should at least be quite similar in build quality and so on. AX and V seem to have 24 frets, so if that's something you want, go for them - but on the other hand, I KNOW that the EX-50 is pretty good (for its price) so you couldn't go wrong with that, if 22 frets is enough for you.

  • @mpalin11 oh kool thanks man :)

  • Should i get this in silver or black?! i cant decide!

  • is there room in the electronic compartment for a battery, because if i get this im gunna put duncan blackouts in it

  • @pieinaboxproductions

I don't know much about the wiring things and such, so I can't tell for sure ... but the electronic compartment is pretty spacious...

  • @pieinaboxproductions Dude, I have a black one. I put a Blackout in the bridge with no problems at all. I got it installed by a professional at the guitar store I bought it from. It sounds really good I'd reccomend it :). Hope I helped.

  • @Douchkovinator cool thanks man

  • Love the shape of that guitar. :D

That's why I'm saving money for it! :D

  • Mie meinaisin tämmösen ostaa, suht halpa ja hinta-laatu -suhdetta on kehuttu muuallakin. Ihan komia pelikin tämä ois :D Suositteletko itse tätä?

  • this or epipone xplorer gt, anybody?

  • @darusgn lol this is quite a funny because about one week ago i asked my self the same question explorer gt or esp ltd ex 50 and i chose this due to better hardware and sound and although i havent actually felt the explorer gt my self i have heard and seen on you tube that it is a very small guitar and the scale length is smalller than a strat so i chose this but its obviously up to you.

  • @iV3GAS

thanks, i guess i might go for esp too after summer

  • @darusgn this by a long shot, sorry this is a brilliant guitar (i own one) and ive played the GT, believe me , you want this :)

  • i love this dude's accent

  • @amarantnraz Really? Thanks :D I'm from Finland!

  • @mpalin11 Finland make some of the best metal music

  • @mpalin11 Finland = Metal ;D

  • so you an esp man? if you are than you have my respect. esp forever

  • metallica songs sound badddddddd =/

  • Thanks for the great Demo!

  • Everytime i see an explorer i think of metallica

  • Jeah Metallica ^^

  • I liked the Metallica :D

  • Killer sound, what kind of amp do you use?

  • @wesclev83 I said it in the video, if you didn't notice... I used a Roland Cube 30X, and mainly the clean channel and the Dyna Amp.

  • it is supposed that all 50 series of LTd are the same right?

the only difference would be the body and in some the number of frets right?

  • @ApathethicJustice hmm well I wouldn't think it like that. I see it as a very affordable range of guitars. I guess there are differences in the build quality and the country where they make 'em, but on paper they are very similar.

  • @ApathethicJustice number 50 means that it's the cheapest model. the higher number, the better guitar.

  • @MrBrownstonee i know that, i was asking if all the 50's where the same -.-

  • can u install a whammy bar?

  • @k00la1d1 Ööh... I don't know anything about installing a whammy bar to a hard-tail guitar. In theory, you could of course, but you'd have to carve some material out and I can imagine it can be quite tricky and the result won't be as good as with pre-installed whammy bar guitars. What a silly question...

  • @mpalin11 There are no silly questions, only silly answers ;)

  • @k00la1d1 i have one, and i installed a whammy bar on it, it's possible and is't sounds good, you just need a good luthier

  • I'm going to get one of these, but can't decide between the black or metallic silver! :(

  • Was it neck-heavy with a strap pin in the original position?

  • @king666nothing Sorry, I don't know :S We got it second-hand.

  • @king666nothing I've got an EX-50 and yeah...it's neck-heavy, but it's a cool guitar either =)

  • @king666nothing I've got a EX-50 and yeah...it's neck-heavy but not too much =)

  • im getting one of these tomorrow i cant wait!!!

  • @Teebonesky how is it dude? mine arrives monday :)

  • can i play only metal on it???cant i play rock?

  • @25536467 I believe I played some rock-style tones here, too... And yes, you could play rock with this, of course :P I can't see why not.

  • @mpalin11 and pink floyd stuff?

  • @25536467 :D

what is it with you... If you didn't notice, I believe I even played some Pink Floyd stuff on this video... For single-note leads this guitar is very cool but I wouldn't describe the clean tones as "amazing".

  • wats its price?

  • @25536467 I can't tell the prices on your area, bro... And you COULD use Google by yourself... At Thomann it currently shows 275 euros.

  • @25536467 In the US, New woul range from 1400-1800. But you can get one at guitar center or an online EG dealer for maybe 800 or so. The reason for the News to be expensive is the pick ups. I mean HEY, who don't want EMG's.

  • nice metallica!!!! cool guitar too!!

  • Hi is emg-hz pickups better then the ESP LH-150?

  • @MissMetalfreak

hmm, sorry, I'm not too familiar with emg-hz pickups... The guitar of a friend has them but ... But I have to say for the LH-150s that I quite like'em in the bridge position for heavy metal, gives a nice sharp and bright tone.

  • Comment removed

  • @mpalin11 So the Lh-150s are good for heavy metal xD? But what about other musicstiles? And what do you mean with the bridge position for heavy metal?

  • @MissMetalfreak

Bridge position = the mic closer to the bridge (the "back" mic).

I like the LH-150s with distortion, and as for clean tones, they are pretty good but not "amazing". My current favourite clean tone is by the EMG 60 for my ESP Eclipse. I think it is amazing.

  • @mpalin11 Ive heard that emg's are really bad for clean music

  • @MissMetalfreak i got emg 60 and 81 on my guitar, and if i turn off the tone and use both pickups... its an amazng clean sound!

  • If it was white i would buy it

  • Ah! Thank you for having the Silver one. I needed to see how it looked. Me likey.

  • So let it be written! So let it be done! to kill the first born pharaoh's son! I'm Creeping Death!!!

    METALLICA!!

  • hey, wots the clean tone like on this?

  • @dbyo88 I believe I played some clean stuff on the video ... I think it's pretty nice :P I dunno what else to say...

  • @mpalin11 yh lol just noticed, it's a good guitar i guess, keep rockin.

  • Hey, Im thinking of buying this guitar, and replace the pickups to EMG 81/60

    Like in the EX 400

Do you think its a good idea?

  • @236987451 Well, the combination of EMG 81/60 is my current favourite configuration, I have it in my ESP Eclipse

  • @mpalin11

    cool..

So youre saying that i should buy the ex 50 and replace her pickups to 81/60?

  • @236987451

hmm don't let my comments affect your decision :D

All I'm saying is that I personally quite like that configuration.

However, switching from passives to actives is a procedure I know nothing about.

So I say you should think about all this...

  • @236987451

Upgrading to active pickups is always a great choice, but this guitar is made of Agathis... I think you will not get the best of the pickups with this wood (with a Mahogany body you should be melting faces). Still, your EX-50 should sound pretty badass with the EMG's ;) (I'm planning on getting one of this guitars too)

  • hey man maybe u can help me with this

I want to know which one is better a dean vmntX or a ltd ex-50?

I know both are economic guitars but one of them must be a little bit better

    THanks!

  • @megadeth55555 Hi there! I don't believe I would be the right person to ask because

    1) I haven't tried the latter one

    2) It's a matter of personal opinion anyway.

BUT: I think the Dean has Grover tuners, which I think are pretty good ... So, my answer is: go try 'em and see how you like.

  • @mpalin11 no problem, man thanks for taking the time to answer! I think Dean is the best choice

  • seemed like the pickups were a wee bit flat for my liking, but as usual good vid man.
