@BlaPascWameOdum First and foremost purchase your cattle from people in business for some time. Second when picking your cattle to buy visually appraise the animals on their correctness of feet and legs (make sure they dont stand under themselves etc.) and ask to see the animals parents sire and dam if possible. If purchasing a group of cattle make sure that they are all the same body type with less variation from animal o animal. Third is the animal's EPD's. Hope this helps. thanks

@bateleon Actually this old bull has bred 40 cows naturally every breeding season since we started with him seven years ago on 1500 pound cows. We hand pick our biggest cows for natural service with him. Most all of our other mature bulls arent close to this guy in size, but we cant keep the weight off of him unless we were to starve him and as you know it wouldnt be good either. Man, that is a big white-faced bull. He's a nice one too. We had herefords for a while back in the late 70's and early 80's. Had calving problems with several different bulls, however. @marchetta67 Some bulls are very dangerous, but Hereford cattle are generally the tamest of all breeds. Our cattle are especially gentle as they are treated well. Any animal however has to be treated with respect and this one is large enough to kill ya in one swipe. You have to know the animal to know whether your life is in danger and definitely stay away from their horns and back legs. Thanks for the comment.
