i only knew WHAS as a radio station in louisville. 84 on the AM dial.

Yes WHAS 11 was a CBS qaffiliate from 1950-90. I think they regretted the switch with WLKY 32 because the latter's ratings started to really  flourish with the CBS affiliation.
