Really was a hell of a singer. Frank and Back to Black are great albums. If only she'd had a manager to deal with her personal issues (not that I'd want the job for any amount of money).
What a great documentary about her work. wow what a true artist she was!
sad that she's gone. I'm so grateful to have had a glimpse of her brilliance. I think she will be one of the legends of the future people will wish to have witnessed.
I loved her voice the first day I heard her. I thought she was from America, the way she sings, then I heard her speak, I'm like, "Oh, she's from England." (Amazing) RIP Amy. Best female artist I've ever heard in my life.
Excelent !!!! I can't believe There are only 70.000 visits. You have to promote this video in a manner that everybody should see it, to learn more about her. I didn't know most of the stuff they say about her.

I liked this bit. The people commentating definitely knew their music history, personalities were not too likable but was nice to hear their interpretations of her music and its connection to past music icons.

Thank you so much for uploading this. So wonderful and fresh to see the above instead of all those nasty videos with even more nastier comments.
It's a shame my generation didn't recognized their own "Icon" and talk about how much better.......
it is wonderful to hear these people dissect her songs and style in such a technical way and with so much respect and placing her quite rightly in a place that anyone who only knows her from pop tv shows or the radio and tabloids will be supprised to see. it is finally reinventing her memory and taking it; in fact back to what it always should have been--a true talent of the highest standard.
i adore amy more than anything, i still cry whenever i hear he sing or see her clips. what an absolute musical genius, the most amazing female vocalist of our time & times to come. and she is an absolute goddess & stunning angel! i love you amy xx
We lost a godess, an angel with a voice and a mind of great knowledge. It's so sad it was her time to go no one will ever take her place, especially in my heart.
yeah yeah, she has got serious issues with alcohol and she wasn't the perfect person (a little twat sometimes) but her talent was out of this world. Amy was supposed to be the new Aretha
It's funny that the one woman said she didn't think Amy's tattooed, beehive look wasn't sexy. HELLO it was crazy sexy. Totally hot.! Great documentary though. Thanks for posting
this is a tragedy, the only talented new artist of the 2000's in my opinion. People should start looking into whats real and whats soulless about music and pick their choice based on what is truly genuine. She was real and I'll miss her music ={
@susomelotube Voy a tratar a hacerlo. No se si va a salir muy bueno porque mi primera idioma es ingles. Y no crees que use google para traducer este. (:
it makes me soo angry how when people say " oh, did you hear about that singer who died in England?" i want everyone to know about her. she was an amazing genius and thats what she should be known for. I love you amy!!
i miss my amy. to most people she was that crazy girl that had those old songs and died. But to her true fans who followed her since the beginning she was truly an icon and LEGEND. Without her words i dont know if i would still be here, shes really gotten me through darkest days. I will forever rock my black liner for her! RIP babygirl!
@Foxlocke thank you! i only wish i couldve seen her live here in america. she is honestly one of the most beautiful honest open and inspiring artists of my generation. It was always about her music for me, i didnt give a damn what everyone said about her. Beautiful woman through and through.
@m0sas however, she wud hate to be refered to as,ICONLEGEND.that messed her up.music is like oxygen.its only here in the 21st (2nd?) century that artists r hounded, persecuted yet worshipped.its a savage double edged nitemare when all she was doing came as naturally as urinating.the LIMELIGHT isnt a wonderful place for most 'deserving' of it
@Xenobia10 i disagree. amy said in many interviews singing was one of the things she KNEW she was the best at..ppl could tear her down in any other aspect of her life & she didnt care but when it came to music, no one could touch her. Her fans didnt mess up the publics perception of her, the haters did. Im sure she was aware of that. I refer to her as a legend/icon due to her musical genius & influence. Im sure she'dve had no problem bein a called a legend by those who love/supported her.
Thank you for posting this, its nice to watch something that does not focus incessantly on her drug problems, it is easy to forget that she was super talented and touched a lot of people with her music. altho, her drug problems should not be whitewashed, it halted and shortened her career as well as catapulting her to stratospheric fame. if she had remained that sweet sassy well proportioned north london chick, she would have come and gone in a flash and dismissed as boring.
very impersonal documentary. I was hoping for stories about Amy, stories about her life, interviews with family, friends, maybe some old interviews that Amy did in the past etc... This documentary is just so called music experts disecting her music and giving their opinions about what they think she was thinking..... Thumbs down
@374624 theres dozens of personal docs about her, ones even from her own dad. This one focused on the music which is what her career SHOULD have been all about. I find it refreshing.
only 6140 views thats criminal, this is a great amy and musical documentary...what a voice, great lyrics and she sounded really witty, what a shame, r.i.p amy we will always have your music....thanks for posting...
I am 44 years old.. First time I heard her was 12 years ago... I was in love with here ... and I still am!!! My sweet heaven.. whAT A LOSS......Also my son, he is now 11 years old knows her since he was beginning.. She was once in Holland and I didn't got the chance to see her then.. She is in our hearts and will always be there... She had the greatest talent and had an amazing sound!! We will never forget her!!! Love you Amy!!
wow! it's amazing to hear intelligent discussion about music and the artist process. beyond the sensationalism that surrounded her life there is a real show of her appreciation for the history of music and and talent for songwriting. thank you for uploading this.
DAMN IM STILL CRYIN SHE WAS THE SHIT BEAUTIFUL AND TALENTED! SHE WAS MUSIC THE PURPOSE OF MUSIC SHE IS WHAT ALL MUSIC SHOULD BE REAL UNSCRIPTED SHE WAS A ONE OF A KIND INSTRUMENT! IM MAD AND HURT, AND JUS....UGH PISSED MAN IN TEARS TYPIN THIS SHIT!
@robbiec82 First of all; I VOW 2 U!!! Thanks for posting this :-) I'm doing a research on British culture references on music. Can you recommend an article on Amy's lyrics or a part of this documentary that deals with such topic? Because she must be quoted. I mean she was marvelous and troubled but her lyrics go far more than that. Thanks. and again thanks for sharing this video :-)
@robbiec82 yes it's quite hard to me hear english people because they speak so fast and I only can understand some sentences. In addition understanding Amy or Blake for me is imposible mision due to they have a very peculiar voice. However if I see written language isn't a problem for me. My native language it's so different from english
@robbiec82 no need to be rude. most english people speak rather muffled and quickly because they are all used to it. Here in america we're like "wait, whaaatt?" Im sure people in the UK feel the same way about us!
When will I cease to grieve for this great loss! It's unspeakable! As time goes on the world will continue to learn of her talent and more of what her message really was. She WAS and IS brilliant and I'm beyond devastated!
I love her! my brother introduced me to her music years ago when she first came on the scene. As a brit living in the US she helped remind me of the UK and love how you could relate to her even if her life was crazy at times... followed everything she did ever since I first heard Frank.... I was like who's that girl?! made me feel like home when I heard the news this past weekend, I felt like I lost a good friend. I did.
@dlberke@hoodrockho88 yeah she was loved like mad over in the UK its just the press & her drug/Alcohol issues that overshadowed her amazing talent, at age 12 she only want to sing so people could forget there problems and that shows what sort of heart she had she was very caring person, brutally honest but obviously didn't think alot of herself which is sad wish she was still here, I was a big fan so I'm kind of cut up about it but you know this is jus a distraction from those norwegian murders
If you're an Amy Winehouse fan, you will love this documentary. If you watch this documentary and you're not an Amy Winehouse fan, you will become one.
@dlberke thats exactly what i was thinking halfway through this. I wish i could just throw a dvd copy of this in all the peoples faces who have talked so horribly about her bc of trivial things like her style or private life. The focus should have always been on her music, which was nothing short of GENIUS! xoxo
Really was a hell of a singer. Frank and Back to Black are great albums. If only she'd had a manager to deal with her personal issues (not that I'd want the job for any amount of money).

This was a balanced, unbiased and even understated account of what could very well be the greatest musical artist EVER.
And while I've said something THAT superlative, I have honestly exercised extreme caution before doing so.
Amy was THAT talented.
And, sadly, most missed it.
Beautifully done.

I find it refreshing.

wow! it's amazing to hear intelligent discussion about music and the artist process. beyond the sensationalism that surrounded her life there is a real show of her appreciation for the history of music and and talent for songwriting. thank you for uploading this.

@olengova if you can't understand english people speaking there own language makes me wonder
robbiec82 6 months ago
@robbiec82 yes it's quite hard to me hear english people because they speak so fast and I only can understand some sentences. In addition understanding Amy or Blake for me is imposible mision due to they have a very peculiar voice. However if I see written language isn't a problem for me. My native language it's so different from english

@robbiec82 no need to be rude. most english people speak rather muffled and quickly because they are all used to it. Here in america we're like "wait, whaaatt?" Im sure people in the UK feel the same way about us!

I love her! my brother introduced me to her music years ago when she first came on the scene. As a brit living in the US she helped remind me of the UK and love how you could relate to her even if her life was crazy at times... followed everything she did ever since I first heard Frank.... I was like who's that girl?! made me feel like home when I heard the news this past weekend, I felt like I lost a good friend. I did.

@dlberke @hoodrockho88 yeah she was loved like mad over in the UK its just the press & her drug/Alcohol issues that overshadowed her amazing talent, at age 12 she only want to sing so people could forget there problems and that shows what sort of heart she had she was very caring person, brutally honest but obviously didn't think alot of herself which is sad wish she was still here, I was a big fan so I'm kind of cut up about it but you know this is jus a distraction from those norwegian murders

If you're an Amy Winehouse fan, you will love this documentary. If you watch this documentary and you're not an Amy Winehouse fan, you will become one.

@dlberke i agree, i saw this documentary for the first time two years ago, and i fell in love
hoodrockho88 7 months ago 3
@dlberke thats exactly what i was thinking halfway through this. I wish i could just throw a dvd copy of this in all the peoples faces who have talked so horribly about her bc of trivial things like her style or private life. The focus should have always been on her music, which was nothing short of GENIUS! xoxo
