  • Really was a hell of a singer. Frank and Back to Black are great albums. If only she'd had a manager to deal with her personal issues (not that I'd want the job for any amount of money).

  • she will live through her music she was a really great artist

  • I'm glad to have her as part of my generation.

  • "Do you see yourself as a sex symbol?" "Only to gays" lol what a crackup!!

  • miss you girl :(

  • the supremes do not touch amy winehouse

  • the way she sings moody's mood for love is orgasmic at 22:06

  • isnt the piano guy the scientist from independence day??

  • What a great documentary about her work. wow what a true artist she was!

sad that she's gone. I'm so grateful to have had a glimpse of her brilliance. I think she will be one of the legends of the future people will wish to have witnessed.

    hope I said that correctly:P

  • This was a balanced, unbiased and even understated account of what could very well be the greatest musical artist EVER.

And while I've said something THAT superlative, I have honestly exercised extreme caution before doing so.

    Amy was THAT talented.

    And, sadly, most missed it.

    Beautifully done.

  • What a bloody shame that she had to meet that rat Blake!

  • Thank you - for sharing this wonderful documentary of Amy's timeless gift of music

  • -❤-

  • thanks for uploading this :)

  • I loved her voice the first day I heard her. I thought she was from America, the way she sings, then I heard her speak, I'm like, "Oh, she's from England." (Amazing) RIP Amy. Best female artist I've ever heard in my life.

  • Excelent !!!! I can't believe There are only 70.000 visits. You have to promote this video in a manner that everybody should see it, to learn more about her. I didn't know most of the stuff they say about her.

I have just put it on my fb.

    Thank you so much !!!!

  • When she did her album "Rehab", I didn't take the time to listen it and I was saying "I don't like Amy Winehouse" shame on me. 2 days before her death, I listened some music and I was thinking "Damn I love her voice she's so nice and the lyrics are so real !" ... Now I regret her, I should listen earlier... love u

    R.I.P Amy

  • we lost her creative voice

  • Maybe Amy was the rebirth of Billie Holiday....

  • 5 months......i still can't believe it :( miss her so much .

  • I liked this bit. The people commentating definitely knew their music history, personalities were not too likable but was nice to hear their interpretations of her music and its connection to past music icons.

  • also that guy with the glasses seems really pretentious, does he really know anything about music? Amy covered the song valerie, she didn`t think about playing with sexuality by keeping the lyrics as they were, she just was respectful towards the original.

  • the supremes NEVER could`ve pulled off back to black! Sorry but amy was beyond them, easily. The Supremes wouldn`t dare to write anything as dark as that.. oh sorry the supremes didn`t write anything

  • pq noe stá en españolll?

  • LOL I agree on what the first black dude said

The first time I heard Amy, I thought it was an old school MoTown legend or somethin

but then I seen her, I was like DAMN, THAT'S TALENT

but too bad when she was alive my mind was trapped in the mainstream world

thank the lord jesus, i freed myself from that dungeon a long time ago

  • Never mind - The buzz cocks. Looks interesting. lol!

  • YES weove her even with her "silly bee-hive" shes the best R.I.P. <3

  • i love the bald guy with the spectacles.. muah..

  • BRILLIANT! TY xo

  • i'm glad i quit music when i did.i lived her life to th note-alcohol poisoning til near death destroyed immune system, heroin addiction,a drug over-dose to flatline-death-and back, stupid adoration yet hatred & abandonment by so-called loved ones, etc.i hated yet was driven by music.i know her soul.she back home now..Rockin In Paradise, she was JUST ON LOAN BY 'GOD" & PPL FUCKED HER-ROYALLY

  • I have so much respect for Amy. She was a proper singer-songwriter, not a mass produced puppt pop star. R.I.P babygirl. :'(

  • The best documentary I've ever seen devoted to any performing artist's work. Many thanks.

  • These Brits, that were interviewed in this documentary talked so much shit! They didn't know what a gem Amy Winehouse, was. She was the best thing out England since the Beatles! Amy was wasted on them! She had All American soul!

  • @tubebitch12 Are you shitting me? Granted, she's a talented singer and a wonderful talent - but I doubt she's better than the likes of Radiohead, Belle and Sebastian, The Chemical Brothers, or Coldplay. And that's only to name a few bands that have come after The Beatles. You can appreciate her without overestimating her quality because of her death. I suggest you do that.

  • @robbyrueful You have your opinion and I have mine! I stand with my statement! Amy's appeal speaks for it's self.

  • @tubebitch12 Fair enough.

  • @robbyrueful First of all it's all personal taste but, personal taste is educated by breadth of experience and time. If you think the ones you mentioned are better... fine. My opinion is that your ears need countless years of education. Winehouse had the makings of one of the centurys great voices and the loss of it is a colossal waste. BTW I've been listening to music for over 50 years.

  • @mrfester42 I agree with the idea of subjective preferences when it comes to musical taste, we experience it every day. However, I find that 'taste' being 'educated by experience and time' is but a milder way of saying, 'I'm older, and I've listened to much more music - so naturally I must be better at distinguishing good from bad in these terms.' The point is a ludicrous one to make if you revisit your first statement.

  • @mrfester42 I'm aware that Back to Black has been one of the most successful Brit albums in the noughties; and she properly set a standard for female artists at the precipice of her career (2006), but she shat on all that when her dodgy lifestyle topped her priorities. I see it the way a lot of football fans do. The makings of a legend come not as a result of two or three years of hard work and popularity, but a career's worth. You need consistency and dedication to remove all doubt.

  • @robbyrueful How would you know? From the looks of your channel, you don't seem to listen to music. Or watch anything else. You're a prig, from your pissy, juvenile views, and a child, from your assumption that life's a football game.

  • @newaccountdebzbd How would I know? I'm not claiming to know anything. I'm expressing the way I see things and it is up to you to agree, disagree, praise, or disparage my opinion. The notion of judging someone's character through a page on the internet is pathetic. Building on that, and having taken a gander at your channel, it does seem quite hypocritical of you to call me a pedant when you define your influences as 'You wouldn't recognize them. I was a lot smarter than you'll ever be.'

  • @robbyrueful My channel comments are jokingly -- but so clearly as to make mistake all but impossible -- ascribed to the medieval Italian philosopher Giordano Bruno.

  • @newaccountdebzbd And at what point exactly did I say that life is a football game? I said you can measure the relative success of artists much like football players, which doesn't completely restrict itself to the sport of football - but of any. I just chose football because it just so happens that I'm a lover of the sport. I can never understand how people like you feel compelled to insult others when you don't seem to provide much to this conversation besides your judgement and pretension.

    She was a fine musician.

    A queen among artists,

how could we let her escape?

The songs she has left us are genius.

    Excellent documentary.

    Thanks.

  • ..... music was in the early days. They say: there will never be another Elvis, There will never be another Beatles, There will never be another Jim or whatever.... Well, guess what... There will never be another Amy!

  • Just watched the whole thing and absolutely loved it! This is the way I always thought about Amy! She was so talented and absolutely the real deal. It couldn't get more honest and real. She will always be one of my favorite female singers.

Thank you so much for uploading this. So wonderful and fresh to see the above instead of all those nasty videos with even more nastier comments.

It's a shame my generation didn't recognized their own "Icon" and talk about how much better.......

  • robbie. did you have to add those comments? couldn't you just let us watch the video?

  • interviewer-Amy do you feel different than male singers? Amy- only when im having my period. lol god i will miss her

  • it is wonderful to hear these people dissect her songs and style in such a technical way and with so much respect and placing her quite rightly in a place that anyone who only knows her from pop tv shows or the radio and tabloids will be supprised to see. it is finally reinventing her memory and taking it; in fact back to what it always should have been--a true talent of the highest standard.

  • 1:25:50 to 1:15:25 - Reverse I mean - off course.

  • What a wonderful Girl. Once I see that Bastard from 1:25:50 to 1:15:25 by her side

I could puke, what a human Disaster. And one can see how she loved this Cripple.

  • i adore amy more than anything, i still cry whenever i hear he sing or see her clips. what an absolute musical genius, the most amazing female vocalist of our time & times to come. and she is an absolute goddess & stunning angel! i love you amy xx

  • I also heard illuminati killed her because of the norwaign killings

  • The black guy is funny haha

  • We lost a godess, an angel with a voice and a mind of great knowledge. It's so sad it was her time to go no one will ever take her place, especially in my heart.

  • the guy playing the piano is so annoying...

  • @RottenZombieChick

i KNOW! he's such a know it all! hahahaha!!!

  • @RottenZombieChick LOL!! why do you think the guy is annoying, lol?

  • @shorty1ification cause he's horribly pompous and basicaly uses the interview to show how talented and knwoledgeble he is T_T

  • ''she's a rare beast who is that good''..........''she's briliante!!!'' she was briliante indeed. R.I.P Amy

  • дерьма кусок этот Blake

  • That Lucy O'Brien chick is an idiot. Don't understand what she was doing on this documentary..

  • Slightly chubby???? That guy's a noob!

  • @catwomanandharley ppl like this guy are why girl's spit up food.

  • yeah yeah, she has got serious issues with alcohol and she wasn't the perfect person (a little twat sometimes) but her talent was out of this world. Amy was supposed to be the new Aretha

  • who is the blond woman with the short hair?

  • Thank you for posting this incredible insight ! When was it made? Was it screened on British tv?

  • Excellent documentary, thanks!

  • Thank you soooo much for this vid!! Amazing and great quality!! xoxox Rip Amy baby!!

  • She would be 28 today, happy birthday girl

  • Amy était vraiment inténse et génial.R.I.P ma chérie...

  • It's funny that the one woman said she didn't think Amy's tattooed, beehive look wasn't sexy. HELLO it was crazy sexy. Totally hot.! Great documentary though. Thanks for posting

  • this is a tragedy, the only talented new artist of the 2000's in my opinion. People should start looking into whats real and whats soulless about music and pick their choice based on what is truly genuine. She was real and I'll miss her music ={

  • por favor¡¡¡¡¡ quien sepa y pueda poner subtitulos en español . gracias

  • @susomelotube Voy a tratar a hacerlo. No se si va a salir muy bueno porque mi primera idioma es ingles. Y no crees que use google para traducer este. (:

  • Amy Jade was pure genius! She was the best female vocalist of her generation, and then some! RIP Amy Winehouse!

  • it makes me soo angry how when people say " oh, did you hear about that singer who died in England?" i want everyone to know about her. she was an amazing genius and thats what she should be known for. I love you amy!!

  • I just refuse to believe she's gone. Because she's not and she'll never be.

  • You will never be forgotten Amy, and I will document your life in my heart forever <3

  • tear .... all i have to say

  • one of the most beautiful girls inside and out, RIP

  • i miss my amy. to most people she was that crazy girl that had those old songs and died. But to her true fans who followed her since the beginning she was truly an icon and LEGEND. Without her words i dont know if i would still be here, shes really gotten me through darkest days. I will forever rock my black liner for her! RIP babygirl!

    Thank you for posting this!

  • @m0sas thats why i posted it up because real fans would appreciate it :) x

  • @robbiec82 :)

  • @robbiec82 thank you :)

  • @robbiec82 ~ hey Robbie...where did this documentary come from?? I was so surprized to see the length of it....thx you for sharing........cheers.

  • @m0sas

    What a beautiful sentiment.

I love her. So much soul...Her music touches me.

  • @Foxlocke thank you! i only wish i couldve seen her live here in america. she is honestly one of the most beautiful honest open and inspiring artists of my generation. It was always about her music for me, i didnt give a damn what everyone said about her. Beautiful woman through and through.

  • @m0sas however, she wud hate to be refered to as,ICONLEGEND.that messed her up.music is like oxygen.its only here in the 21st (2nd?) century that artists r hounded, persecuted yet worshipped.its a savage double edged nitemare when all she was doing came as naturally as urinating.the LIMELIGHT isnt a wonderful place for most 'deserving' of it

  • @Xenobia10 i disagree. amy said in many interviews singing was one of the things she KNEW she was the best at..ppl could tear her down in any other aspect of her life & she didnt care but when it came to music, no one could touch her. Her fans didnt mess up the publics perception of her, the haters did. Im sure she was aware of that. I refer to her as a legend/icon due to her musical genius & influence. Im sure she'dve had no problem bein a called a legend by those who love/supported her.

  • Thank you for posting this, its nice to watch something that does not focus incessantly on her drug problems, it is easy to forget that she was super talented and touched a lot of people with her music. altho, her drug problems should not be whitewashed, it halted and shortened her career as well as catapulting her to stratospheric fame. if she had remained that sweet sassy well proportioned north london chick, she would have come and gone in a flash and dismissed as boring.

  • very impersonal documentary. I was hoping for stories about Amy, stories about her life, interviews with family, friends, maybe some old interviews that Amy did in the past etc... This documentary is just so called music experts disecting her music and giving their opinions about what they think she was thinking..... Thumbs down

  • @374624 theres dozens of personal docs about her, ones even from her own dad. This one focused on the music which is what her career SHOULD have been all about. I find it refreshing.

  • 1:07:21 ....what the fuck is with this guy?....chill the fuck out.

  • only 6140 views thats criminal, this is a great amy and musical documentary...what a voice, great lyrics and she sounded really witty, what a shame, r.i.p amy we will always have your music....thanks for posting...

  • Brilliant doco...thanks for posting.

  • she looks like streisand in that last picture

  • I am 44 years old.. First time I heard her was 12 years ago... I was in love with here ... and I still am!!! My sweet heaven.. whAT A LOSS......Also my son, he is now 11 years old knows her since he was beginning.. She was once in Holland and I didn't got the chance to see her then.. She is in our hearts and will always be there... She had the greatest talent and had an amazing sound!! We will never forget her!!! Love you Amy!!

  • wow! it's amazing to hear intelligent discussion about music and the artist process. beyond the sensationalism that surrounded her life there is a real show of her appreciation for the history of music and and talent for songwriting. thank you for uploading this.

  • DAMN IM STILL CRYIN SHE WAS THE SHIT BEAUTIFUL AND TALENTED! SHE WAS MUSIC THE PURPOSE OF MUSIC SHE IS WHAT ALL MUSIC SHOULD BE REAL UNSCRIPTED SHE WAS A ONE OF A KIND INSTRUMENT! IM MAD AND HURT, AND JUS....UGH PISSED MAN IN TEARS TYPIN THIS SHIT!

  • @Gelli555 I know how you feel :(

  • @robbiec82 First of all; I VOW 2 U!!! Thanks for posting this :-) I'm doing a research on British culture references on music. Can you recommend an article on Amy's lyrics or a part of this documentary that deals with such topic? Because she must be quoted. I mean she was marvelous and troubled but her lyrics go far more than that. Thanks. and again thanks for sharing this video :-)

  • @FrankieInParadisco will do as soon as I have moment free frankie :)

  • subtitles please

  • @olengova if you can't understand english people speaking there own language makes me wonder

  • @robbiec82 yes it's quite hard to me hear english people because they speak so fast and I only can understand some sentences. In addition understanding Amy or Blake for me is imposible mision due to they have a very peculiar voice. However if I see written language isn't a problem for me. My native language it's so different from english

  • @olengova sorry about ignorant I will try get subtitles for you my friend...I was having a bad day yesterday sorry again

  • @robbiec82 gracias por al menos intentar poner subtitulos :)

  • @robbiec82 no need to be rude. most english people speak rather muffled and quickly because they are all used to it. Here in america we're like "wait, whaaatt?" Im sure people in the UK feel the same way about us!

  • Absolutely beautiful piece about her life and the way She was...Will miss her terribly..

  • Such a poignant and insightful documentary. This is so good.

  • Brilliant young talent... Gone too soon.... Never forgotten !

  • Such a good documentary. I will miss Amy so much, still so sad that she's gone. I hope they do release some other material. Love you Amy

  • When will I cease to grieve for this great loss! It's unspeakable! As time goes on the world will continue to learn of her talent and more of what her message really was. She WAS and IS brilliant and I'm beyond devastated!

  • Thank you

  • I love her! my brother introduced me to her music years ago when she first came on the scene. As a brit living in the US she helped remind me of the UK and love how you could relate to her even if her life was crazy at times... followed everything she did ever since I first heard Frank.... I was like who's that girl?! made me feel like home when I heard the news this past weekend, I felt like I lost a good friend. I did.

  • @dlberke @hoodrockho88 yeah she was loved like mad over in the UK its just the press & her drug/Alcohol issues that overshadowed her amazing talent, at age 12 she only want to sing so people could forget there problems and that shows what sort of heart she had she was very caring person, brutally honest but obviously didn't think alot of herself which is sad wish she was still here, I was a big fan so I'm kind of cut up about it but you know this is jus a distraction from those norwegian murders

  • If you're an Amy Winehouse fan, you will love this documentary. If you watch this documentary and you're not an Amy Winehouse fan, you will become one.

  • @dlberke i agree, i saw this documentary for the first time two years ago, and i fell in love

  • @dlberke thats exactly what i was thinking halfway through this. I wish i could just throw a dvd copy of this in all the peoples faces who have talked so horribly about her bc of trivial things like her style or private life. The focus should have always been on her music, which was nothing short of GENIUS! xoxo
