yes it is a matter of classification. an 848 is middleweight riding when a 1098 and 1198 are in the heavy weight sector. a higher engine capacity = more demand form the driver including senses and physical ability. if your just a street rider out for a bit of fun and a bit of head turning then if your bank balance can stretch go for the 1098. but personally i would just go for the streetfighter ducati.
I need a suggestion,I want to get a bike but, i don't have a garage to put it in, will be it fine throughout the season in New Jersey? Where can i keep a bike? just against the wall of my house with a cover?
Are you asking if this bike is good for all year round or you need a suggestion for a bike? BTW a cover will keep some but not all of the weather off the bike. A few years under a cover the bike will still rust. I kept my quad outside for the winter under a cover and it rusted in some areas.
those 600 make only 10 horse power less not to mention they have more low and high range power they have four cylinder compared to the l twin that ducati favors dont get me worng (ducatis are my fave) but thoses 600s are a chalenge for the 848
I've owned several different bikes and the Ducati service is no more expense than if you take a harley in for service. Valve adjustments every 6200 mile and belts every 12000miles. Its my understanding that Ducati has reduced maintenance cost on all new model. JMO.
That is like asking which one is better between a yamaha R1 and the R6. They are in a dif classes. I say dep on your riding skill and your wallet.

If you really want a dry clutch, it can be done. Not very difficult either.

I just wish it had the dry clutch...

My S2R1000 Monster had a dry clutch. I traded in for an 848 with a wet clutch. I prefer the wet.

does it matter? It's not like you can push any of them to their limit. Just pick a damn color.
