I believe these problems may be attributed to the 89 mm bore and 92.4 mm stroke that this 2nd-gen OM603 uses, as opposed to the original OM603's 87 mm bore and 84 mm stroke.
my 300SDL does the same just under the turbo-manifold connector tube. Mine is very quiet but can hear whenever im at a drive through. What causes this problem? i thought it was a valve..

It could be a bad valve.

you have to replace your headgasket cause there is a leak in the oilhole in the headgasket.
