  • I was at this event Bart Vale was the promoter - Herman and John were both instructors for Barts' school - Shamrock was at this event as the main draw. Would love to see that match again he was just starting out.

  • no wonder theyre useless if vale was their coach

  • theyre both useless but interesting to see how mma has evolved.

  • @billysue2 point shootfighting with a weird ruleset is not a good reflection of anything fool.

You comment often on fighters being useless yet your comments dont reveal any greater knowlege on your part, funny that.....

  • @wondeboy12 its not point fighting, its full contact but both are useless so it looks like light contact at times. The rules are the same as those used in pancrase before 2000.Its pretty obvious they arent able to throw a meaningful strike, have zero wrestling and no groundwork at all.Any experienced mma student can see that. These guys and vale knew next to nothing about grappling at that time but unlike vales japan fights, this fight is real.

  • @scarred10 It is point based otherwise a decision wouldnt be able to be reached in the advent of the time running out, shoot fighting has a winner where early pancrse just decalred a draw.

It's full contact that doesnt allow strikes too the head.....that there means they cant throw a meanigful strike & with the lack of certian strike, it makes it much harder to grapple, especially seeing as how these guys are kickboxers who are not aloud to punch to the head....

  • @wondeboy12 I thought you meant point fighting as in semi contact, thats what it usually means. They are allowed to strike the head with open hands not punches, bas rutten did fine without punching the head in pancrase.Anyway that actually makes it far easier to grapple since its harder to land open hand shots and prevent the clinch.Whatever the rules you can see these 2 are useless grapplers and kickboxers. If bart vale had anything to do with them im not surprised.

  • @scarred10 One of the worst traits human beings have is assumption.Palm strikes are legal in shootfighting?Odd because they are every bit as effective as a fist, possibly moreso with the harder uninterupted surface & less lilklihood of breaking them. They used to have a point system in pancrasse if you did a rope break, closed fist strik or certian other moves it counted as a"lost point"lose 5 & you lose.Useless is an overstatement, it's obvious they never trained for the comp, they have basics.

  • @wondeboy12 i just said open hands were legal. They are far harder to land because they havent the versatility of punches and are more suited to hook shots not straight. If you watch old pancrse fights you can see that really only bas had much success with them against far weaer strikers. These lads are terrible, ive seen white belts in bjj with twice the skills and understanding on the ground and junior high wrestlers with better takedowns, they are woefully bad.

  • That is my sensei, great fight Sensei John.
