Well I do play at a nice field in Chesapeake VA. I'm sure I can find someone to help me if i want to put upgrades in. Overall though how durable internally is the SR12 and how long should it last me with all stock parts. Also back to the 550mm barrel thing, Are you 100% sure I don't need any upgrades to run that barrel? I don't doubt you, I just don't want to ruin my gun the first time I shoot it y'know?
Dang I wish I was comfortable with gearbox work haha. I've heard some people have problems with their wire connections on the motors coming lose. Is that a common problem? I hate opening the pistol grip because I am never sure if the motor height is right after I put it back together.
@Airforceguy664 Kwa motor connecters are on really well lol I've never had mine slip off ever and if you have a buddy who is good with internals work he can help you build the gun too
@Airforceguy664 If you were to put in those upgrades you would get around 540 to 565 fps average depending of bbs used and also an average accuracy range of 230 to 240 feet maximum
Hey sorry to bother you again but i have like 3 more questions. First, when you said that the tenergy battery put out 22-24 rps, was that confirmed with a chronograph? Also i can't find a 3600mah model of the tenergy, only a 3800mah. Lastly which would you recommend, a Tenergy 9.6v 3800mah or Intellect 9.6v 3600mah? How do you think they will compare performance and lifetime wise?
@Airforceguy664 Yes it was chronograph confirmed and mine did 22.6 RPS with a 9.6v 3600 mah from Tenergy and the reason why you can't find the 3600 mah is that Tenergy quit making them last year and I got mine from their sale when they were getting rid of them. Also I would recommend personally a Tenergy 9.6v 3800 mah because they are cheaper are also they do just as well as intellect does with a higher mah. =)
@DeltaWinters88 Okay one more question haha. I saw something on a forum online that I would need a bore up kit to run a 550mm tbb in my sr12. Is this true? I don't see how considering I'm only lengthening the barrel by 41mm.
@Airforceguy664 Actually tell you the truth the difference between a 550mm tbb and a 509mm tbb is so little in performance that the 550mm tbb could actually be less effective than a 509mm tbb due to the bb touching and bouncing all around the barrel for an extra 41mm might give a slightly worse accuracy theoretically. Also no you do NOT need a bore up kit. Use these parts:
Systema Type 0 Cylinder NON BORE UP
Madbull cylinder grease (its black) and rub into cylinder o rings and
@Airforceguy664 also rub into piston head o rings and inside of air nozzle
Also it seems like you are going to use the SR12 for a DMR build maybe? If you are a G&G M140 spring with a systema type 0 cylinder, madbull grease, and a EDGI 6.01mm tbb gave me 565 fps on average with the hop up off and as high as 571 with airsoft elite .2g bbs Now with KSC .2g bbs I only averaged 541 fps but this is due to the fact that AE bbs are 5.98 in diameter and KSC bbs range from 5.95 to 5.94mm
@DeltaWinters88 I am planning on maybe using it as a DMR. I was kind of hoping I didn't have to do any internal work though. I don't have much experience with it and don't want to mess up my new 400 dollar gun. So do you think the stock kwa barrel will be about the same as a 550mm 6.01? Also will trying the 550mm I have hurt the gun if i don't install the parts you mentioned?
@Airforceguy664 Ahh I see but the stock Kwa barrel will not be as good as a 550mm 6.01 tbb but I personally would put a 509mm because putting on a barrel extension "mock silencer" onto the gun makes the SR12 even longer than most L96 bolt sniper variants... Also please purchase a EDGI 6.01mm tbb due to the specific design of the 2GX hop up unit because it may not work with other barrels. With just installing the barrel itself will not hurt the gun =)
@DeltaWinters88 Dang. I've heard intellect was a little better than tenergy so i should for sure get atleast 20rps which is all i need for what I'm doing. And you chronoed that correct?
@Airforceguy664 Yes the quality control on Intellect is better but from experience I've had 3 tenergy batteries and 1 intellect... My other 3 tenergy batteries are still running for over 1 and a half years and the intellect... one year and it can't hold a charge anymore
@DeltaWinters88 HOLY BAJEESUS! Are you for sure? I was asking because i saw some review earlier today with a guy using an Intellect 9.6v 3600mah and the rate of fire was slow for a kwa (prolly 17-18rps). Maybe his battery was almost dead or something. But did you say you work for kwa?
@Airforceguy664 I do not work for Kwa but I am one of the Kwa USA Forum Specialists =) and I have personally tested a 9.6v 3600 mah and have gotten 22 to 24 rps which was nearly the same from running a lipo out of my gun =) Remember voltage only plays a partial role in determining battery strength and the amount of mah does also. For example a standard Kwa will do 17-18 rps on a 9.6v 1400 to 1600 mah battery where as Kwa will do about 21-24 rps on a 9.6v 3500 to 4200 mah battery =)
@Devildog1591 Mmmm not quite. The Sr12 features a 20 inch barrel system and a 12 inch free float ras system where the SR10 has a 16 inch barrel and a either a 9 or 10 inch free float ras system.
@thegameturtle Gun was completely stock and brand new when tested meaning straight out of the box literally with no break in time at all. No tightbore barrel, Madbull .2g white bbs
@gotgoth9 Yep its true! This is a good thing to! Whoever the hell invented the "Plastic hop ups suck cause they are make of plastic" deserves to take it up the arse xD This hop up unit provides literally one of the BEST air seals in the airsoft industry and has been proven to have a better airseal AND consistancy than most metal hop up units! Trust me bro this hop up unit is the LAST thing you want to change out on this gun!
@fallen1archer No the mags actually are feeding with no problem at all lol I even shoved this Kwa mag into my 34 RPS Tokyo Marui HK416 custom build and fed the whole mag minus 6 bbs at the end without a single misfeed or double feed. =D
anyone else wonder why people do "accuracy tests" of airsoft guns when.... its like a freaking tornado outside?!!?! your whole test is instantly disregarded after i see wind... my tokyo marui high cycle stock internals (24.65 rps) with an 8.4 at 260 fps with terrible matrix .2 bbs reaches torso accuracy at 155 ft... not impressive. dont get me wrong this gun is beast and kwa is my fave, but do the rifles accuracy justice!
lawl dude.... Wow you do realize that the wind out there was EXTREMELY high. I later found out that day that the wind was clocked at 25 mph according to the weather channel. I myself own a TM and they freakin SUCK SOOO BAD with this much wind it can't even shoot straight. This gun was performing on SEMI (if you listen closely, you'll hear semi was hitting 100% accuracy) This gun has gone through extensive field tests and games, and at a game, I got a 227 and a 208 feet kills (Confirmed)
that exactly what im saying... with this much wind you cant shoot straight... meaning that the test does give us an even remotely accurate accuracy test... that gun is killer accurate, but because of the wind it does not show it... hence the reason i dont get why people do "accuracy" test when the results will never do the rifle justice
hey does your handle/bipod work very well because i was thinking of getting on but it would be to far forward for the bipod to help at all. is this true?
DELTAWINTERS88 i have a question for you. im like a stealthy kind of guy and im getting this KWA KM16-SR12 as kind of like a automatic sniper and im getting a ghillie suit with it. i was wondering if this gun is really loud or soft and do you think you can hear it from 150-200 feet away??? o yeah 1 more thing, if i was trying to snipe with it would it give away my position????
I was in your position before, me and my SR12 with a ghillie suit =D This gun already has a sorbo pad material pre installed so that it really is quite as long as you don't dry fire, the you'll hear the pop, but at 200 feet, you won't hear a thing except for a small burp xD Tell ya the truth I've scored a 250 confirmed kill with this thing!! Beast mode lol If you are going to go snipe with this gun and do semi only, I would recommend you buy a EDGI 6.01mm tbb =D
@DeltaWinters88 like how u said u were in my position.....well now im in a even worse position.....ehh my friend convinced me to get the SR-10 when i was going to originally get the SR-12 and now ive been waiting for a month to decide and im doing like a survey to all my friends and isk which one to get. i talked to KWAUSA customer service and they said that the range/fps/performance is all about the same but the SR-12 has a longer barrel and is a little tiny bit more accurate. help me!!!
Also the gun may sound loud to you, but all the gear noise is disperesed to your left and right, not to your front or back, so all the enemy hears is a small pop. My camera here makes the sound really loud cause of the sensitive microphones but in real, its pretty soft.
love the KWA videos. I did plan to get a KWA M4 RIS in 2008 but i ended up getting a Marui M4A1 RIS. Causing to upgrade it for more FPS. But once i get my G&P WOC M4A1 RAS GBB Rifle. I'm making the rifle to a DMR type M4. With the Bi-pod, 4x Scope, and others.
Thanks! My TM is having quite a few problems now, cracked a gearbox shell 3 weeks ago, and this morning wrecked a spur gear, piston and a sector gear. Speaking of a M4 GBBR, you might want to wait a few months on the all new Kwa KM4A1 GBBR =)
Dude, my friend has the second generation standard M4, and its accuracy is not too bad but is noticably less than the SR12 when put head to head. If you want accuracy but still have a compact frame, you can always get a Kwa KM4 RIS with a 509mm TBB and a silencer, like the madbull blackside silencer and you will have better accuracy because it has the same barrel lenth and bore is even tighter resulting in better accuracy. You will need to change the cylinder to a type 0 cylinder
Not at all!!! Trust me I am a Kwa USA specialist! Tests have been done and you can even use a 14.1v lipo if you want lol. I would recommend buy a 9.6v 3800 mah, which I am using right now, i was using a 10.8v 1600 mah but the ROF wasn't too good. With the 9.6v 3800 mah, I get around 25 RPS!!!
oh ok i gotcha. ive heard not to go over a 9.8 on a stock gear box. right now im shooting a echo1 g36 with a 9.6 1600mah and im not really happy with it. the rof is pretty good but the vlocity isnt there. could you send me a link to a good battery? i was looking around at airsoft gi and planning on ordering it off there.
idk if u got this wrong or not, claiming ur a Kwa USA specialist but.......anyways mah stands for how much energy is stored in the battery and Volt stands for the output of energy....so it would mean that the 10.8 has faster rof or rps and the 9.6 would have less but be able to last longer. Just pointing that out!
Lol you can go look on Kwa USA if you want. Anyways voltage really isn't the main contributing factor, and the proof is why do you think some people achieve higher ROF on an 8.4v battery than a 9.6v battery? Mah and Ampage actually are the main contribution factors of how much energy there is to be released. Voltage, is a contributing factor, but has WAY less of a contribution when compared to Mah and Amps. It is not correct to say that a 10.8v has faster ROF than a 9.6v with higher mah ;)
Trust me on this topic, my friend is an electrician =) The equation to see how much output a battery truly has you have to multiply the mah x amps x voltage and having a higher mah vs having a high voltage, its better to have higher mah and ampage vs having higher voltage, do you see what I mean? The reason why people experience higher rof with a higher voltage battery is cause with higher voltage usually comes higher amps.
But with this in mind, you gotta see that some 11.1v lipo batteries actually carry the same output as a 9.6v 4200 mah battery. As in conclusion voltage really doesn't matter all that much at all. With my 10.8v, I get WAY slower ROF than my 9.6v 3800mah and yes the difference is VERY noticable in ROF.
dude haha so i got the gun and my team and I owned since i didn't have enough time to buy a scope i just put on an acog and it worked fine but now i am looking into the scope and wondering how yours has held up and if you suggest any thanks deltawinters
Its the Tasco Real Steel 3x9 by 50mm with my homemade scope shade and it works amazingly!!! Its 100 bucks online but if you go to wal-mart, i got it for 35 bucks!!!!!!!!!!! It was their last one in stock too so ya better hurry to see if they have any left!!!!!!!!
why do people test shoot on windy days? in every video it is "its really windy out today, so..." just wait untill a calm day to test, it will achieve better results.
New AEG line besides M4/M16 varients, AK47, a ton of other stuff ;) and Gas blow back rifles (M4A1) :D Time to go beast mode... There is so much more, just can really tell ya
are there going to be any internal differences? also, i have $410 to spend on a gun, is there anything in that price range that you can think of that's better than this?
Just grab the standard M16 and put on your rail, BUIS, and gas block of choice. Thats really the only thing that the SR12 has special. The SR 12 has a set of KAC and PRI styled sights, KAC 12 in RIS and VLTOR gas block. If it were me I'd prefer a Larue set because it has QD sling points in the RIS and some Troy battle sights. But hey thats me. The SR12 is perfectly good if you're a KAC fan boy. And Winters is definitely a KAC fan boy.
Lol no I don't recommend getting a 60.1mm barrel lol but yes I do recommend getting a EDGI 6.01 Tight Bore Barrel Kwa edition 509mm long barrel. 60.1mm is a little too bit for an airsoft bb lol
The scope is from wal-mart and its a Tasco 3x9 50mm for like $31 dollars and I made my own scope shade out of a arizona tea jug, and also the magazine inside the gun is the stock Kwa Generation 2 magazine with new finish.
lol there is so much room for the 10.8v 1600 mah inside the stock that, if I wanted to, I can shove in part of my hand and still have room to have the battery wobbling around everywhere. The maximum it can take is a 9.6v 4200mah or a 10.8v 4200 triple stick type battery.
Yeah lol it was pretty hella windy and I didn't even need to adjust the gun to the wind, the bbs just keep going straight xD and they were only madbull .2g bbs too
just ordered the gun

Not at all!!! Trust me I am a Kwa USA specialist! Tests have been done and you can even use a 14.1v lipo if you want lol. I would recommend buy a 9.6v 3800 mah, which I am using right now, i was using a 10.8v 1600 mah but the ROF wasn't too good. With the 9.6v 3800 mah, I get around 25 RPS!!!
DeltaWinters88 2 years ago
oh ok i gotcha. ive heard not to go over a 9.8 on a stock gear box. right now im shooting a echo1 g36 with a 9.6 1600mah and im not really happy with it. the rof is pretty good but the vlocity isnt there. could you send me a link to a good battery? i was looking around at airsoft gi and planning on ordering it off there.

idk if u got this wrong or not, claiming ur a Kwa USA specialist but.......anyways mah stands for how much energy is stored in the battery and Volt stands for the output of energy....so it would mean that the 10.8 has faster rof or rps and the 9.6 would have less but be able to last longer. Just pointing that out!
jnguy3n95 2 years ago
Lol you can go look on Kwa USA if you want. Anyways voltage really isn't the main contributing factor, and the proof is why do you think some people achieve higher ROF on an 8.4v battery than a 9.6v battery? Mah and Ampage actually are the main contribution factors of how much energy there is to be released. Voltage, is a contributing factor, but has WAY less of a contribution when compared to Mah and Amps. It is not correct to say that a 10.8v has faster ROF than a 9.6v with higher mah ;)
DeltaWinters88 2 years ago
Trust me on this topic, my friend is an electrician =) The equation to see how much output a battery truly has you have to multiply the mah x amps x voltage and having a higher mah vs having a high voltage, its better to have higher mah and ampage vs having higher voltage, do you see what I mean? The reason why people experience higher rof with a higher voltage battery is cause with higher voltage usually comes higher amps.
DeltaWinters88 2 years ago
But with this in mind, you gotta see that some 11.1v lipo batteries actually carry the same output as a 9.6v 4200 mah battery. As in conclusion voltage really doesn't matter all that much at all. With my 10.8v, I get WAY slower ROF than my 9.6v 3800mah and yes the difference is VERY noticable in ROF.

why do people test shoot on windy days? in every video it is "its really windy out today, so..." just wait untill a calm day to test, it will achieve better results.
stickydude1 2 years ago
The gun performed amazingly even in heavy winds so thats why I didn't do a redo on a nice day :D

big line of guns like what??
Darkstar2520 2 years ago
New AEG line besides M4/M16 varients, AK47, a ton of other stuff ;) and Gas blow back rifles (M4A1) :D Time to go beast mode... There is so much more, just can really tell ya
DeltaWinters88 2 years ago
are there going to be any internal differences? also, i have $410 to spend on a gun, is there anything in that price range that you can think of that's better than this?
abcdfghijlnopqrst 2 years ago

DeltaWinters88 2 years ago
does the 10.8 volt battery fit in the stock completely
kicker1491 2 years ago
lol there is so much room for the 10.8v 1600 mah inside the stock that, if I wanted to, I can shove in part of my hand and still have room to have the battery wobbling around everywhere. The maximum it can take is a 9.6v 4200mah or a 10.8v 4200 triple stick type battery.
DeltaWinters88 2 years ago
You wanna try my R/C car batter? Its a little bit bigger than you 10.8. Not sure about the MaH though.
shift9303 2 years ago
Sure!! Bring it to school tomorrow!!! xD
DeltaWinters88 2 years ago
Shit, I think I broke it. It said do not discharge past 5.8V and I just checked and it only read 4.0V....
It really big though, the cells are huge.
shift9303 2 years ago
Wow, just checked up the battery model, appearently its only a 7.2V....
I think I'm going to use it in my G&G SCAR. Its gonna have super low discharge rate, but it'll last for ever!
XD
