  • I wanna see Kenny G play one of these!!!!

  • as notas estão socadas o som desse instrumento é aveludado ....n socado...é uma ferrari sem piloto.....................

  • Sorry but that is not a very pleasant insturment to listen to.

  • The mechanisms sound a bit noisy, but what a COOL sound...

  • I bet when the reed on that thing breaks, you can use it as a snowboard.

  • no lo limpia ni el putas a caballo.

  • that's a tubax,not a contra,isn't it?

  • @annanoli

No, it's an Eppelsheim contrabass saxophone. The Tubax is more compact and has a smaller bore, and the lowest note is low Bb. This contrabass goes down to low A (concert C)

  • I want to hear legit saxophone played on this instrument...

  • @IIIThreat

Try listening to my video, "19th century contrabass sax solo" on Youtube. Very legit.

  • Very nice :D

  • That Horn must shake the walls. When I play my Bari, I have a hard time hiding it. Lovely playing!

  • hi! where are you from, sir? how did you get to know Mr. Eppelsheim? He is living in Munich, near to my former home country. a friend of mine bought a Eppelsheim Bass saxophone some months ago and it plays beautifully!

    greetings from Hamburg

    christian

  • This is my fourth Eppelsheim instrument. I have never met Benedikt Eppelsheim, but I have the utmost respect for his genius in making musical instruments.

  • i cantimagine the money and lung capacity goes in that thing

  • You are the first contrabass saxist ive heard, and your an awesome first experiance

if i had the lung power id want to try and play it

    haha....

  • Fabulous as usual. Leebm29

  • Where did u get ur Saxophone?

  • were did u get the music? i love it!

  • The music is Rudy Wiedoeft's "Saxophobia" (at least, part of it) for alto sax played 2 octaves lower on the Eb contrabass saxophone

  • kewl, is there any free web site were i can get that?

  • I don't think so. Search ebay for old sheet music. It's not rare.

  • yes i have a free site for saxophobia

  • Awesome sight. Thanks!

  • That is almost sick! However I love it and would like to hear more. SWEET!

  • where can I get a contrabass?

  • Search for the Eppelsheim website, and contact Benedikt Eppelsheim for prices and details.

  • The Tubax is smaller. The diameter of the tubing used for the Tubax is smaller, closer to the size of a baritone sax.

The Tubax would be very long, about 15 feet long, if it were straight. It is folded up into 4 parallel tubes, so it is less than 4 feet tall.

The contrabass would be a little longer than the Tubax if it were straight (about 16 feet long) because it has a low A key. The Tubax only goes down to low Bb. The contrabass sax is almost 6 feet tall.

  • This is great! What a cool sound!

  • His saxophone is bigger than yours! Hard to hear to anyone sound good on those monsters, and he sounds awesome! I want to try to play a tubax now =o

  • Little did anyone know, he was wearing no shoes whilst performing this song.

  • I didn't want my foot tapping to sspoil the sound.

  • your selling this on craigslist

  • I think some scantily-clad loose women dancing around you would add a much-needed element to this video.

  • I'm open to that. I'll get back to you.

  • Randy,

My that's a big sax! Great playing!

  • You make some fine sounds with the big horn, Randy! Good job!

  • Fabulous!
