Raiden is far away from being immortal. He's got NO nanomachines in his blood. Vamp's nano's heal him before he has the chance to die. He would need to be decapitated, or have his nano's suppressed to be killed normaly. After this fight between Raiden and Vamp, Raiden was pretty close to dying actually. You don't see him again until the Shadow Moses chapter (4) this fight happens in 2 so he got his ass whooped pretty good. LOL Sorry for spoiling, GO BUY THE GAME ALREADY IF YOU DON'T LIKE THIS!!

Raiden isn't immortal. The nano machines inside Vamps body prevent him from dying. They heal wounds and disease before it can kill him. Thus making him immortal.
