  • You're voice is absolutely fantastic for this song in my opinion. My favorite cover of this, honestly. [: Love it love it. :D

  • @meowmoocatsnake thanks :) you're too kind

  • @wongowonga Anytime at all. [:

    and Hm, I try. :D

  • so how do you edit your sound quality? do u use audacity?

  • @wongowonga i must say, you're quite easily good enough judging by this video :) great job man :)

  • Hey guy, good job!! What microphone did you use? Thanks

  • I actually really like the reverb effect for this cover, makes it so dreamy ^^

I'd really like to know how this mic performs without effects though, since I dont know how to add effects myself, and I want a mic that has clear quality without needing to oversing.

  • reberb abuse in my opinion

  • i like it man,, i got one of those mics on its way, jus ordered it today...

  • Nice cover man!

  • the link that you started playing at 2:05 and so on sounds very different in the acoustic song, it changes rythm a couple of times.

I´d like to learn how to play it, if you upload the vidoe, please tell me.

By the way, the echo effect is quite noticible, personally i dont like it, it sounds like a church to me

  • It's reverberation, not echo.

  • What your board sound ?

  • Take me back to the start...

  • Comment removed

  • best cover :)

  • you are using a lot of reverb. use less, and it will sound better :)

  • dude sounds pretty close to his vocals lol, weird anyway... how would this hold up to drums?

  • wow awesome singin dude!

  • Did you add an audio effect to the vocal? It sounds like there's a slight echo.

  • i think he did cause, its the same thing coldplay do when they play live

  • okay thanks, because i was considering purchasing that mic from Amazon, but i don't want that echo effect. i record a lot of folk stuff and don't think it would sound good for that. but if it records clean, than i would definitely get it.

  • honestly u rock! (Y) keep on!

  • I can't get enough of listening to this!! it's addictive :P

  • wow reali good thought about playing live?

  • You Hello I invite you to see my version of THE instrumental SCIENTIST greetings from mexico

  • Hey,nice vid;)

i was wondering, what stand are you using for that mic?

  • i'm not sure what he's using but, I know i standard boom stand will do nicely for them.

  • im planning on purchasing the mic u are using, do u have any tracks with no effects like reverb, bcuz it records great 4 ur guitar but i want some raw vocals with like only EQ. but it sounds really good anyways lol.

  • how do you do that? aha.. sorry im new to all this. im getting this mic on wednesday..

  • Nice! I would also like to know how you applied the reverb? Was it through your audio software applied in realtime?

  • @eddiedietz thanks.... applied retrospecively with audio software

  • What audio software do you use?

  • nice recording. how did you monitor the playback while recording?

  • @id1201396 i didnt :)

  • how do you record like the video but record through the mic.. ?

  • What did you use for the reverb on your voice? It sounds really nice.

  • r u just using the mic plgged into the comp or what? i have a mic connected to my pc and it doesnt sound like tha.....what program r u using to edit?

  • This mic sounds good inside,,,, Have you try how it would sound outside?

  • @VannyARTS sounds good outside too.... wind can be a problem tho

  • Thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you ! ! 8D

  • really good !

and im getting this mic i thinkkkk

  • I can hear abit of static, maybe because he doesn't have a wind blocker, or just raising his voice way to loud, because he is a room with abit of echo, Am not shure but good song/singing !

  • too much of that tweeky sond when u pronounce ur "s".

    ex.

    Science

    Said

    it'S

    Sad

    (wasnt tryin 2 make a sentence...lolz)

  • how much was this in english money

  • best buy has it for about $160

  • yea but u can get it online for $99

  • hi im looking at usb mics

can i ask what software you use with this

i use mac software and was wondering if it would work well with the stuff i have x

  • I get whis mic next week...wiee.

  • yah what software did u use for recording? btw, have u tried samson c01u mic?

  • too much reverb, imo

  • what sofware do you use to record?

  • - What video editing software do you use to run multiple screens and what do you use to record your stuff?

    - Ive been looking into the Samson, AT2020, SnowBall. AT2020 is more expensive. Do you have shock mount? a pop filter? Could you do the same song, id like to compare. I know it helps not pick up extra vibration. The sound of the guitar does pick up pretty well with this mic.

  • Oh i have another question :P sorry about that. Does this microphone have headphone monitoring support?

  • Wow... im on the hunt for a condenser mic and I dont know which to get anymore haha. So Ill you need a USB port and thats all? Ok Im going to ask a stupid question, 2 actually lol. Do you plug your guitar in the computer and how do you make the 3 screens on your videos :P Thanks

  • If youre looking for a very good value condensor mic then i would say the at2020 usb is a good choice.. simply plug into usb and you're away.

pretty much any video editting software will allow you to run multiple screens... and for the other question, i dont plug the guitar into the computer, its recorded via the mic..

  • hey, i bought an at2020 microphone and a tascam interface. EXCEPT I DONT KNOW HOW TO HOOK UP.

Is the sound quality not as good when its usb compared to output input???

Have you heard of Samson C01U???

  • Which Tascam interface did you purchase? I just recently got the US-122kmII one or whatever but to get it hooked up is very simple tho. If you need any help just message me back I can try and guide you through it if you still have not figured it out!

  • I have the same mic, but when I record (using audacity), the recording does not sound like yours. Do you edit it?

  • he added reverb.. =)

  • @ramii07 he obviously adds effects like compression and reverb. you can do that on audacity, under the effect tab - just click compression and reverb, you should be getting a similar sound now. if not, just email me! ill message you my email now.

    with luck

    katie

  • @ramii07 reverb was applied retrospecively

  • @ramii07 mic placement matters a lot. nearer the soundhole will give a more full and bassy sound. around 12-14th fret gives high bright sound that can cut through the mix. and further away gives a more natural sound....

  • @ramii07 I think he uses protools. Not sure.

  • @ramii07 ok so this reply is a couple of years slow but I see many people have the same problem so I here is my answer.... I believe Audacity is a sound card which is in many ways irrelevant to the final sound. Mine may sound different to yours because I added reverb to the recording, this was applied after the recording via cubase (audio editing software) There are many other editing programs out there that will add effects to an existing recording, some free, others very expensive!

  • plugging the guitar in the computer is about the stupidest question ever lol, but the other one isnt a stupid question

  • you CAN plug your guitar into your computer

  • what key is this in?

  • capo 3rd

  • how did u get echo sound?

  • i added reverb

  • thank you for responding man, also when you sing loud into the mic does it sound like overwhelming? cuz it does with mine

  • try turning down the mic gain... and dont get too close to the mic if you don't have a pop filter

  • hey...i like your song...im here from the mic review....may i ask what program you use??? i hear the program makes all the diffrence

  • did you make the setting for the echo or is it just like that?

  • Woah! Pro!

  • nice!

  • GREAT SONG UR BRILLIANT!!!

    im a piano player lol

i think ur a great guitar player

  • Sounds good. I'm here from the microphone review. You are brilliant at getting hits and it helps out too. I'm pleased with what I hear. Did you put an echo on because it' wasn't in a booth? I don't have a booth and that makes me a bit insecure. I just want to record my rap lyrics the best way possible (and I'm poor) anywho thanks buddy. I appreciate it. You can sing very well.

  • please can u explain the 3rd chord please?

  • Appears to be B minor 7 (actually D minor 7 because of the capo). How to play: (6): damped, (5): fret 2 w/LH index finger, (4): open, (3): fret 2 w/LH middle finger, (2): open, (1): fret 2 w/LH ring finger. Actual pitches: D, F, C, D, A.

  • hey .cAn u make a tutorial on how to record a song like tht using tht microphone and also the program tht u used? please?

cuz i had already plugged it in my computer and it sounds crap. i dno wht to do :( please. give me some advice/ thanks

  • is it just me, or is the mic not plugged in

  • its just you :P the cable is wrapped around the stand...

  • okay, LOL it looks like its wireless or something, which would be sick

  • haha yeaaaa it looks like its wireless i was like :S

    hehe

    xx

  • wooooooow!! this is amazinG!. im gna get tht mic as well im sooo exited. :)

where can i get the same recording stuff tht u use??

  • very good man

  • Hey I know you've probably been ask this before but do you know if this records good for hip hop/rap vocals?

BTW great cover of my favorite Coldplay song. Respect. But what would you rate this mic?

  • wow nice song i like it alot

  • Thanks for the test. Perhaps a touch too much 'verb though.

  • there is hardly any reverb on it... the ressonating that you can here was introduced when youtube encoded the audio into flash ... cheers

  • wao very good

  • what program you use for recording ??

    thanx

  • AT2020 usb mic

  • audio - cubase

    video - cyberlink power director

  • yo sing good, but the mic sound whit all that reverb? or you put it?

  • good job!

A few years back I learned this song almost exactly like you. So I'll leave you with a suggestion: the chorus ends with A major, then you do that thing where you remove your finger from the third string and then place it back on, well the way I do is on the second string not the third.

imho it sounds better...give it a try if you haven't.

    10/10

  • Impresionante... un gran tema y el mejor cover que he visto de esta canción con guitarra en mano. Saludos!!...

  • very good man

  • i just got this mic today...

but...how did u get it to sound all...

    echoee??

  • reverb...

  • reverb

  • theres too much reverb actually

  • heyy!!

    nice nice

    just awesome!

    ^^

  • nice nice

    :)

  • what program did you use?

  • video - cyberlink power director

    audio - cubase

  • Thanks. xX

  • i dont undestaid the first note

  • 1st finger on A string 2nd fret

    2nd finger on G string 2nd fret

3rd finger on high E string 2nd fret

    all other strings played open

  • man thanks a lot you are the man.

    thank you from Portugal

  • i was wondering which onstage mic stand i should buy since i'm plannin to buy this mic? which one are you using?

  • years pass by..with professional people to..with dif condenser mics. The request from music store that i´ve talked you about its a "bundle" and it comes with the AT2020+pre-amp+cable+popfilter already , thats why ive asked you that. But i was already wondering that i would going to need an audio hardware to make things work on my home studio. Thanks for your time. Apreciate. keep up the good work.

  • ok, in that case...if your PC has a sound card then you are ready to go.

    Cheers

    Craig

  • i also recorded my songs with at2020 usb ^^

  • hi wongo, do you know if the non usb version needs anything else than the pre-amp that comes with it ,to be ready for recording / to work?

apreciate your answer. nice cover btw ;)

  • Hi 2real...as far as i know.. the non USB version does not come with pre-amp... you would need to buy one separately. That's the main reason that I bought the USB version, although the USB mic costs a bit more that the XLR version, there is no need for a pre-amp so it worked out cheaper over all. So, to answer you question, the non USB version would need a pre-amp and an audio lead to connect to output... hope this helps...

  • Yeah mate ive checked around the internet and have made some compares on which one, and ive choosen the XLR version, cuz i think its a bit more professional than the USB version on capturing the audio recording..but not giving less credit to the USB to! i didnt compare by seeing youtube videos..just wondering since i record on other studios by the

  • very nice :D keep up the good work

  • Thanks very much =D

  • this is great man this is what i plan to do with a condensor mic, also would i be able to lay drums over a song that ive recorded with this mic or is it differnt becuase its a usb mic? or the whole usb thing jsut makes it so it goes mic direct to computer?? explain how that works, would it be best to send voclas through mic to interface or mixer??? or is usb best?? great cover i love

  • I've heard this microphone record an acoustic drum set without any problems... effectively, the only differences in the USB version and the non USB version are :

    a) the fact that you plug it into USB port (no pre-amp with 48v power required)

    b) as its a digital connection the sample rate and depth are limited.

If I had money to burn I would have bought the non USB version and connected it via a pre-amp to PC. That said, the improvement in sound quality would me min.. cont..

  • cont....If you don't have a mic pre-amp and youre looking to spend as little as possible, then i would recommend the USB version.. you would need editing software for the mixing.

  • alright thanks for the help, and for recording vocals, for evn ruff cutting music, should i stay with a large dia condensor or get a normals dynamic mic?? im planning on buy the rode nta1 condensor. so for overall for recording vocals, would u say a condensor or nomral dynamic?

  • for studio recording, a condenser mic would be best.. for a live recording/gig then you would probably use dynamic for vocals.. dynamic mics tend not to pick up so much background noise and are much more durable.. condenser mics tend to have a more sensitive frequency response.

  • THANKS

  • good stuff man. i think you just convinced me to buy this mic. It was between this one and the the samson c01u but this one is the better pick i think. It sounds really good.

  • Thanks mate... I'm very pleased with the Mic... Youtube is not doing it total justice. Some quality has been lost in the encoding. I don't mind emailing you the original file so you can hear the true sound..

  • BLOODY HELL u sing seriously well!!!

  • wow, thanks very much.

  • What software are you using to record?
