Megatron was a freaking joke in the movie, for the most part.

They ruined him by making him an afterthought. He didn't do any evil scheming in the movie, he was just awakened at the end so they good do a "kickass" fight scene, and then killed him off. Bay showed little real respect for the source material.

And what was the deal with them not even USING the theme song in the movie?

Granted, I don't think the film was nearly as bad as they made it out to be, but they are right about one thing...the Transformers were basically treated as props, rather than characters.

If you add up everything all the Transformers said, it still probably amounts to less then what Shia's DAD said throughout the film.

Agreed that there was too much humans, but there's a difference between a cartoon and a realistic movie. Bay had to make transformers feel like they fit in the real world.

Joshn Dunhamel and Tyreese Gibson were amazing actors, they need to keep them. Anthony Anderson and the Australian girl are not in TF2. You have to remember Bay didn't have the money for a whole bunch of robots for TF1. He already has some of the robots from the first film created, so he spend more money on new robots.

But this video had a lot of points. They should have at least used the "search for energon" concept to let people relate it to the first movie. They made the transformations too complicated, and the toys don't even transform like the movie transformers. Too much action, not enough story. They could have just made this into a new incarnation of the cartoon.

I have not seen the movie yet so can't comment on it just what I have heard. However I can comment on Galactus in the Fantastic Four film and that really was a mess. A cloud, they turned one of the best characters into a cloud.

I love the argument that G1 was not realistic so it had to change. How the hell can a film about giant robots be realistic? The reason the designs were changed is simple. Money, Paramount did a deal with GM Motors to supply all the cars in the film so it was about adapting the Transformers to be GM Motors products not about making a film based on the source material. Spiderman,Superman, Batman Begins, X-Men, Blade all these films are very faithful to the source material with only minor changes.

I agree. The action should only serve as a tool to advance the plot, the plot should not be a tool to advance the action. But after seeing Transformers, I think it did a lot better at keeping this in mind then most action films. It was actually pretty good.
