  • never mind the chord progressions and the key, hasn't he got nice teeth?

  • It is (6th-1st) D-G-D-G-B-D, and starts with holding the 3 thinnest strings on the octave. I though it might be hard to learn until i realised it was this tuning. I've never used it before, but it'll fall into place when you try it. Lovely song, hard to sing without reverting to RW's original warbling (and his usual thickets of melisma), but Wizz here has an interesting take on it - great stuff.

  • Been meaning to get back to you about this...You can see Wizz playing First Girl I Loved in a documentary Billy Connelly did about Bert Jansch and his influences called Acoustic Routes...About 1:24 into this video: /SaksF1aW5Ms Looks like open G to me. Any thoughts?

  • I've always played it in open G and I suspect that is what he's using here.

  • What a beautiful song, I can't stop listening to this over and over.. Anyone know the tuning? Is it open G? Desperate to learn it by ear.. Sean

  • @themachinist1000 Cant help you with the tuning mate, but you may like the original version of this song by Robin Williamson(Incredible String Band) on 5000 Spirits album 1967. Good luck

  • A really nice cover of a great piece of music, thank you.

  • awesome, thanks for putting this on here. Is there anyway I can convince you to also upload "Skip a Rope" and "When I leave Berlin?" Love those two songs.
