  • its not illegal. i did this to my SRT-4 and my tail lights are as dark as my black paint and you can see the brake lights perfectly. cops have seen my lights but they dont care because its not illegal.@sophiamiasma

  • Haha nice rear window tinting...

  • i think its too dark, i would make it lighter

  • umm....is this just another one of those things that kids do so they can feel like they fit in? Like wearing their pants below their butts? Sounds like one of the dumbest idea's I've ever heard. OOH yeah let's make it HARDER for people to see when we put the brakes on! yeah! As a person who suffered from whiplash for 25 years ...umm gotta call dumb on this one. ROFLMAO at the dumb things kids do.

  • @sophiamiasma It looks cool on the right car, must say though hes done it far too dark.

  • @EuanRams I understand about looking cool....but if you look cool and you get hit from behind and then suffer in pain for the rest of your life ...is it really worth it? I almost hit a kid the other day because his car looked so cool with these blacked out lights. What if I had hit him and left him paralyzed or something for the rest of his life...would that have been cool and worth it? There are other ways to look cool but endangering yourself and others on the road really isn't cool

  • @sophiamiasma Yeah, well dont know about where you are But in the UK if we would make our lights this dark we'd get a large fine or points on the license, over here people do it so that they're still red, but just a dark red. If your unable to tell whether the lights over here are breaking or not, you'd be a greater risk on the road than the folks who do this to their car.

  • @EuanRams it's illegal in the US too, my niece's boyfriend was pulled over and fined and his car was impounded because he did this to his car. I just think that there has to be better and safer ways to make your car look cool. It's really not cool to risk the safety of other drivers on the road as well as yourself

  • @sophiamiasma It's not illegal unless there isn't enough light coming through.

  • @sophiamiasma your a fucking idiot

  • @msatterlee1 if your that close that you rear end someone then you are not paying attention and i did mine and they look great at night so before you talk stupidity do your research and pay attention on the road

  • Looks good. But this guy says I went ahead 18 times. Count em throughout the video. 18 times.

  • What happened to your tint man?

  • hell of a job, looks damn good but then theres always one dumbass who has to ruin it by commenting some real negative things. If people would just watch the video and stop posting stupid comments.

  • What would you recommend for the headlights? I wanna balance the look out a little bit

  • I think 1 clear coat is Good.

  • @ahernandez4110 IMO 3 coats is better.....unless your doing no wet sanding afterwards.

  • why would anyone want to make it HARDER for people to see that you have some to a stop???? This is the most idiotic thing I've ever heard of. NoForRice asks "Have you been rear ended yet?" YET??? Like is being rear ended a cool thing?? I almost rear ended someone that had done this to their tail lights the other day. I had never heard of people purposely doing this to their cars. Geesshhhhh you are STUPID if you do this to your car!!!!

  • @msatterlee1 Didn't your mama ever tell ya' if you don't have anything good to say.....shut the FUCK UP......

  • @msatterlee1 lets think about this for a min... during the day you can clearly see any car and at night its easy to see the breaklight even with tinted lights and if you still think its not good enough just get some led bulbs... and if you almost rear ended someone then its your fault for not paying attention and not staying a safe distance back so learn the rules of the road before you get on it and its legal to do this to your car so stop complaining

  • @msatterlee1 lol you have some deep seeded issues guy. Seek HELP.

  • @msatterlee1 You're a dumb fuck! As long as you can see the break light a certain distance its perfectly legal. Cars are going stock with this now as well headlight tint. If you werent on your damn phone or jacking off while you are driving you wouldnt of had that close encounter.

  • @msatterlee1 if your stupid enough to not be able to judge if someone is slowing down with this done to their car, you shouldn't be driving

  • nice man!! how did you get that super extra shiny look?

  • Not legal, supressed the reflective parts of the lenses, not good at all

  • @johnybarcelona1 no one that goes to the effort of tinting their taillights cares :)

  • it can cause the lenses to crack if you do don't have a wax grease remover after your sanding you need to do even med. thick coats and clear a lot and that should help and dont do it unless it is 70 degrees to 90 degrees

  • If you get streaks with the VHT nightshade what is the next step to take?

  • legal in california

  • Ready to go ahead

  • Your Cute :)

  • Lil bit too dard, but overall nice

  • They look awsome!

  • nice job

  • i think it looks good...

  • @Freakinsweet1234 My Tail lights are just as dark if not darker and i live in VA, which is one of the stricktest in vehical laws and yes tint is illegal. iv never been pulled over for it or had any problem with being seen in my car.

  • how dark you have it is completely up to the person doing it dont hate on him maybe he wanted them really dark

  • Thanks this helped me out a lot. I have a black Sebring and I wasn't sure how these would look on the car but after this video I now know that I want to do this to the car!

  • you wanna come to my house and do it for me? haha

  • Damn...way too dark

    No more how-to's for you

  • @curtisjohnson092 OOO get told son!

  • can you post all the items you used? thank would be very helpful

  • what kind of clear coat should be used?

  • mine came out looking like a flat, plastic like finish, not a glossy finish.. is there anything i can do now?

  • @TheTrehkemper throw on a layer of clear coat and it should gloss up a bit

  • lmao no need for all those sand papers...

  • It looks really good.. but is it legal?? don knoww...

  • Great video and very informative thanks

  • U need to go ahead and stfu

  • Awesome job.....Too dark for me....I watched a few videos on this and I think two coats would be dark enough without cutting visibility of my bike. Great job and thanks for posting rgssr!!

  • Shoulda left a couple coats off. Translucent tails still look good anyway having them dark like that DOES reduce visibility of the vehicle slightly which is usually not enough for a ticket BUT police around here want any excuse to pull someone over and that's one of them because there are tests they can do visually by standing certain distances from the car and gauging visibility to see if they're street legal.

  • You people making fun of this dude seriously need to grow up and get a life. This is one of the most detailed and best looking tints I've seen.

  • oohhh boy, these lights are barely seen in daylight! Even in a garage :(

  • Wow that looks fucking fantastic! Great job man, the work you put in REALLY shows!

  • At any auto part stores

  • where can i buy this stuff at the nitshade stuff?

  • Great looking work. Should put brighter LEDs in though because that is still dim.

  • Looks perfect. Very nice job!

  • Really nice job

  • nice ... i clicked on this and it was my exact car :P

  • really changes the look of a car!

  • @jbguillory HAHAHAHA

  • dude it turned out great im going to try it on my cobalt

  • @jbguillory this guy spends his time filming this shit so retards like you can manage to make your shitty ass cars looks somewhat custom get a life buddy you sound like my cock slapping against your gfs cheek fuckin goof

  • But how much light passes through those lights on a sunny day ? In the sun ? Have you been rear ended yet ? Nice looking lights though .

  • @NoForRice plenty of light passes through........have not been rear end yet!!! I musta did the shit right......lol

  • @rgssr Cool, they look super glossy. I wanna try vinyl tint film first though, in case the cops tell me to remove the tint . With vinyl ,i could just peel it off .

  • @rgssr Rear ended. *giggle*

  • Did he 'go ahead'? I think he did..

  • Man you done an awsome job now can you come and do mine! lol going to do mine soon but more than likely spray it on and say good enuf lol! can you make out a list for me of what u done I want my pro like yours!

  • @Travide i sanded mine with 1500 grit with detergent extremely light and quick coats of nightshade 5 times to get a lighter tint than this guy and then clear coated it 3 times then i let it dry and sanded it lightly and then waxed it with maguire's ultimate compound and then wiped it to get a nice shiny look.

  • Great information! Thanks man! Looks great!!!! Will be doing this on my Nissan 350z. I hope mine turns out as well as yours! I really want that "mirror, glass -like" finish!!!!!

  • @jbrueshaber Thanks Man!!! post some pictures when done.

  • @rgssr how much do you charge for it?

  • i htought you tint them not paint them

  • @jbguillory Kid, don't even talk. He's tryin to teach people like us, and also YOU how to do obviously what we're looking for help on. Stop hatin'.

  • nice work bro but i do vht all the time and ur doing so much work that dont matter.....and dont sand the light cuz u deal with scraches after....but if u heat gun the paint it will dry to a nice finish....ive had my truck done for over a year now and not once has it faded or anythng......and use a clear coat for every layer of vht u put on , but if done right , vht nite shades onyl needs 3 coats maxx do be black as the night.....but not bad , just wayyyy to dark..AND WAY MORE WORK THEN NEEDED!!

  • @rgssr Comment*

  • nice job man

  • @j2sanchez32 Thanks!

  • Hey i have a question for you guys, I drive a 2010 scion xb with Black Halo LED Projector Headlights with 10k HID, and I was wondering should i use nightshade to black them out more or should i just keep them the same?

  • @Zafo16 sorry for responding late....the best thing for the headlights are to apply the nite shade then lightly wet sand them and then do your clear coat.

  • @rgssr Oh okay thanx for the help dude appreciate it a lot :)

  • like the amount of darkness not soo much on the brightness

  • ohh btw i just checked your video on my mac and it looks better ;) from my iphones smaller screen it looked really dull but you did a nice job bro.

  • @WESTWOODBEATS Thanks...btw awesome car...the 350's and 370's 1 one of my favorites out there

  • you need more polishing they look dull :( look at mine on my 370z they shine like mofo

  • @WESTWOODBEATS lol yeah i looked at your and there ok......you think mine are dull then send me your address so i can shoot you out some glasses......

  • @rgssr there ok? lol if you look closely you can see me in my tails its like a mirror :) yours are darker maybe? i only sprayed 2 coats and didn't get puller over so far :)

  • so in order to get the mirror finish to the tailights you have to use rubbing and polishing compound after you wet sand the clear coat with 3000 sand paper

  • it is removable by resanding the light down with the intent to redo it...if youre looking to just remove to go back to original then you'll probably need to buy replacement lights.

  • is this removable?

  • Man the reverse lights are terrible, and it's definitely not worth it if you HAVE to take out the tail lights, the whole point of people tinting their tail lights is so they don't have to take them out and replace them just because they want them to be smoked or blacked out, and it seems like a lot can go wrong. I'm just gonna buy the pre-cut light tint made for my car, thank-you for making this video so I know NOT to put this shit on my car. Also, I'm not being a dick i'm actually thanking you.

  • hey nice job on the tail lights..i have a question, do i have to remove the tail lights to do this or can i just do it with them on my car? pleaase answer

  • @shads7rockon yes you do need to remove the tail lights. Your going to be dealling with paint and clear coat and a fair amount of sanding.

  • looks sic..! i just done my ute but i went way to hard.

  • it looked too dark at first, but thank you for turning the lights on it really looks awesome! now I really want to do this myself on my mitsubishi galant :)

  • @KcKreicar Thanks....

  • wouldnt it be cheaper and easier to use a film of tint ?

  • Right, removing the lettering, got it...now can we move along there, stuttering fuck!?

  • @mypalrocco i took a look at your channel.......fucktard. Oh wait your probably one of those keyboard commandos.......what a loser you are!

  • hey i used the vht on my car but there were some dripping and running from the paint left over cuz my first coat was to heavy. I had a heavy hand it sucked but now my lights are down but you can see drip marks on each what can i do to get them out? and i tried to shine them but they still were cloudly and defintely not shiny like yours any suggestions?

  • @jmoneypr17 if it is a minor run then you can wet sand it out......if its nore then a minor run...i'm sorry you'll have to start from the beginning and sand all that off with probably a 320 grit paper then start your wet sanding preparation all over.

  • @rgssr just use gasoline and scrub it off its easier..

  • sweet man that looks good

  • but they turned out nice

  • any painted lights can be seen in the shade or at night so u gotta check outside in the day

  • hey.. could you please help me out here, I sanded, painted, clearcoated the tail lights and then with 2000 grit wetsanded again and then polished it with compound. The lights turned out good but when the lights are on you can see the tail light scratches from the sanding, what could I do to fix that? should i clearcoat it again would that help?

  • @rags17 When yor wet sanding the clear coat you have do it in stages......1st start with a 1000 grit....then move to 1500 grit then finish it with you 2000 grit. Now my question is how did you prepare the lights before nite shading ....... did you wet sand the lights 1st before appling paint 1st?

  • @rgssr yes I wetsanded it with 1000 grit before putting the nite shade so that it sticks to it and then after like 3 coats I clear coated and then wetsanded again with a 2000 grit and then use meguirs compound. But when the lights get turned on the sanded lines n scratches can be seen. So was wondering if I should clear coat again, would it help?

  • @rags17 after the clear you must start with 1000 grit again.....if the scratches and lines are in the clear coat....that is what the 1000 grit paper is for to sand out those imperfection and scratches........thoses lens should almost be smooth before your move to the 1500 grit. If the scratches or lines are on the lens themselves then you have to go back to square 1 and wetsand those imprefection from the lens before anything else. Make sure you have enough clear on them or put more on.

  • Looks great… Looks like it would have come from our WCC shop. Great job and great how to.

  • @thebster21 thanks man.....you guys are awesome over at WCC!

  • looks dope

  • @jimmycodmw2 Thanks man!

  • if i decide not to sand down my lights and just clean the surface of them then apply the night shade will it still come out decent?

  • @soccer4eva17 The whole purpose of wet sanding the lights are so that the Nite Shade will adhere to the lens....any type of paint that is use will not adhere that well to a slick glossy surface.

  • Huge help thanks

  • tail lights look amazing!! But the only downfall to it. Other drivers can really see the reverse light....Ticket waiting to happen..Nice job!!

  • nice video, it helped me
