Sorry Joe, I had just opened a second account with this new name for a different kind of work, and by mistake used it for your reply. Yes, your good ear spotted it right, the arrangement is very close to Ivan's first recording. Didn't want to change much except few details. Never heard of anything of that kind available online.
It would have been very convenient to be able to remove the vocals completely ( sorry, Ivan :o) ) and still keep that quality of sound; lot of time saved but, much, much less love and joy to understand the beauty of such a music, when you dig deeply into it and it moves your heart day after day, thanks to Ivan Lins, the musicians, and whoever did the orchestration.
Where did I get the backing track? Well, first by listening to the original song arrangement, and second by letting my ears arrange the whole thing. Nobody did it for me, I had to do it patiently, from scratch... :o) which of course took some time, but the main point is that the music is so beautiful that time become really secondary.

Thanks Fred.
what made you think that it was Lee Ritenour?
Did he record this song?

The backing sounds very close to the original with vocals removed; just asked in case you bought it online and i wanted to check out the supplier.
But why are you impersonating the original poster "gilmeda" :-!
