  • Wow, you have a power supply that is 1.5V at 200A you must have custom made it or it was expensive. Thanks for the tips, the only reason I used a higher voltage is because I saw more activity with the higher voltage. I assumed that since the gas was coming off the electrodes more quickly that the electrolysis was happening more quickly but I didn't give any thought to the efficiency. Thanks again. What are your electrodes made of BTW?

  • Voltage is too high, it only takes 1.5V to split water the rest of your voltage will just go into heating the water. Use sodium hydroxide as an electrolyte then you wont get the chlorine gas coming off. So use a lower voltage power supply and boost the surface area of your electrodes. I made one up that pumps 200A through the water it produces enough to make a constant flame, can fill balloons with it etc. Hydrogen is a clear flame - nearly invisible
