@robinturns All jobs become repetitive and boring. At least these people know they are making great, useful tools that will probably outlive them. It is a legacy of sorts.
@robinturns An understandable comment, But, There are worst jobs, At least you can see that you have produced something and the end of each shift, I would have thought they would move people about the factory to avert boredom, But, I do believe you are right, It`s not a workplace environment anybody should do for a considerable length of time, Not unless you have got a seriously hardened mindset to that type of work !
My daughter gave me a Leatherman about 15 yrs ago & it is one of my prized knives. That it is a fine tool is apparent, but the icing on the cake is the company stands behind their knives 100%! My son-in-law broke the saw blade & I sent it back for repair. They returned it in less than 10 days completely refurbished! I had a new knife again. THAT my friends defines a great company with a great product.
Leatherman needs to get ahead of the curve instead of behind. They were still using 440 steel when others used better steel, now finally they are too. We need a leatherman style with a mini saw.
I've had a Wave since my time in the Forest Service (2001) and LOVE the thing. It's one of the highest quality things I've ever owned. Stays in my car and travels with me everywhere. You cannot go wrong with a Leatherman.
one of the few who make stuff in the good oll us of a i been using these tool for more than ten years and my best claim , removing a wheel safety nuts with a letterman sideclip . 140lbs of torq on this little pair pf plier
I have been with my leatherman wave for more than a year and a half, and you forgot to say in the end that also emergency peopole use it, i am a paramedic from israel, it has helped me countless times...
i have noticed that on the site,Charge al.. it says "if you could only take one tool to a desert island"..i speak from experience in saying this that you will have little/NO use for an awesome PLIERS,wire cutters, bits on a desert island/{mangrove or in the bush}! You'll use the Knife and Saw!
-Like most Leathermans/similar Pliers based multi-tools is more Electrical/Mechanical type...more/definitely for Urban Jungle, than the real one. Given this it's still an outstanding Pliers multi-tool!
wow,i'm seeing alot of Victorinox haters,i like both leatherman & victorinox...here..lol
For full size multi tools i'll go for Leatherman like the wave,{needs a chisel though}!
For "pocket size" tools i'll go for the Victorinox swiss army,it IS better Built & of higher quality than the Juice series{unless a pocket pliers is key for my purchase, then its the S2}.
for key chain it's the micra!
Leatherman is more mechanical/electrical,it's for the urban jungle not the real one!
i hate swiss army knives. leatherman ftw! There knives are SO sharp. I have accidently cut my thumb up with a kick about 5 times before and i never know it until minutes later when i see it. i love leatherman you just have to be careful around the blades that dont lock because they have a lot of retention to stay open making it hard to close
I found my Leatherman on vacation! I had been putting off buying one for years, and there it was on the beach. I was so happy that I actually had my girlfriend take pictures of me holding it afterward. I love your product, and look forward to BUYING my next one!
I just bought the Damascus Wave, what a work of art! I am not happy about parts coming from Mexico, but these are still for the most part US Made.. Sad about the walmart effect, I agree.. it's a crime against America. Small business and workers alike being hurt by it.
I love my Juice XE6. I don't like going anywhere whithout it. My Surge is very nice, too, but just a bit too big and heavy to use as an EDC, for me, at least. I just need a good Leatherman for my keys, and I'd like to get a Charge TTi to use as a more robust, heavy-duty EDC. Once I have those, then I'll be ready.
Leatherman tools are bullshit. All are made with very low quality manufacturing and control. I have some LM multitools, I compared to my victorinox multitools (swiss tool and swisstool spirit), Victor has very tidy design and accurate, which I believe was highly controlled manufacturing. OK, LM has good design, however human error and lack of control during assembly of the product may be the cause of very poor quality of final product on the market. Sorry to say that, but it is seriously true!
@pwnyoubitch Dude, many parts of Leatherman tools are made in China. They just don't want to let you know. There are many loopholes to go about calling which is the manufacturing country. BTW, I have k bar and Spiderco knives, they are excellent, and they are made in China.
@0oSiLveRo0 Japan, China and the USA. Knives made out of CPM S30V from the USA, VG10 from Japan and the 8cr13mov from China (not only Byrd knives, also the high value linup from Spyderco, the Ambitious, Persistence, Tenacious and Resilience.)
I dunno, K-mart sells them how good could they be honestly? Mass produced by the billions doesn't make something good.
And I want a tour of the Mexico factory where they make the plier heads the most important part and it comes from Mexico.
I bet that happened so Leatherman can lower the costs to make Walmart and others happy. Just google the Walmart effect and ask yourself how long until Leathermans are utter garbage.
If you don't think it's coming, you must be blind.
have you tried a surge . its the same as the wave but bigger . the big different is the surge can change the file with a saw and the scissors are bigger and on the outside
I got a wave n a kick Grate tools(:

What a dire place to work, which job would you like to do all day?
I am all up for tight quality control and good engineering but I like to see people doing jobs that use more of their faculties as human beings.
