Have you ever experienced this...When my imac 27inch has been sleeping for almost 3 to 6 hours or w.e for a long time....i would see a bunch of white spots on my screen especially if you use a black wallpaper. But their obviously not dead because when i move a window like firefox or imovie over those white spots they disappear. This is not an issue when my computer has been OFF for a long time, only when it sleep for awhile like 4 to 6 hours. Thanks
Hey man great video.. But I have a question. Is the core i5 mainly for video editors? Because i'm not one and just wanting a fast overall browsing computer...
Hey, sorry for the delayed reply. The i5 is mainly for people who want fast video processing (video editing or video encoding). id say reading from what you want from it to go for the i3, ive had no regrets and i can still do video editing if i want to and as you can see from my channel i haven't had any issues with the i3 and video editing. i mainly use mine for audio playback, web browsing and i use a dual boot / boot-camp system to run windows to use emulators and windows apps
they are ok, surprisingly good amount of treble and bass for inbuilt speakers. however nothing to make you go wow. ive got a logitech Z 5500 speaker system connected to it via Optical cable because you get much better audio if you use an off-board sound system
@peckishere i have another question. It's alright if you can't answer it. I'm getting one and I'm allowed to upgrade only 1 thing. The processor or the RAM. The default processor and RAM are i3 4GB. If i upgrade them, they would be i5 and 8GB RAM. So which would be more better to get overall.. the i5 processor r the 8GB RAM?
RAM definitely, the i5 is basically a i3 but on steroids (i5 has some 'quad core capabilities' but is not a true quad core so basically a slightly faster i3)
@peckishere no. Core i5 have both Quad core and Dual Core version. All Core i5 cpus have turboboost which do auto-overclocking. While Quad-ccore Core i5 cpus do not have Hyper-Threading. Core i3 are all dual core processors with hyper-threading. Core i5 actaully out performance Core i3 in a big margin. Core i3 is bascially a low end processor for basic use and Core i5 is mid-end to somewhat high end for heavy duty works. While Core i7 is the king of performacne.
depends on the size of your room and what you want to use it for, i have a relitively small room and at first i thaught it was too big but i got used to the immense size of it, now when i look at the 21.5" it looks tiny, i suggest you go to a reseller or an apple store and try them out to see which one is the best for you.
the i5 has come quad core capability's but is not a 'true' quad core processor. from what i read from research is that its basically a normal i3 but with 'Hyper-Threading' to perform multiple tasks and boost speed a little. it really depends what you need your imac to do. hope that helps a little
hey, thanks for the positive comment, as far as sims goes I really don't know, I've never played it, I use steam for games on my mac so I don't own any Mac games on a physical format and steam doesn't offer sims as a download-able game. The specs are good enough to run 3D games (3D as in polygon and three dimensional shapes) and runs portal perfectly so it may work if you have a copy on disc but I'm not an expert, lol :)
Cool, you wont be disappointed, this is my first MAC and I'm 100% happy with it, just don't likes apples view on wireless keyboards and mouses, i much prefer wires so i don't have to mess with recharging batteries
@peckishere im getting mine when i get back from vacation i want to order from apple and get the wired keyboard with numpad :P. ill try the magic mouse tho
Good choice!, i wish i wasn't so impatient and ordered the wired numeric rather than the wireless, the magic mouse is a amazing mouse but since this video I've bought a wired mighty mouse because i don't want to keep worrying about battery levels
seems to be allot of debate on forums about the different processor specs, I'd advise looking on forums and seeing if what processor matches your needs for it. i chose the i3 because i never really do any processor intensive tasks (just occasional video editing and audio restoration)
