  • it saddens me to say i'm a pirate.. :/

  • Skyrim 50€ Battlefield 3 50€ Modern Warfare 3 20€

  • Free.

  • Depends on the game, like i am not going to pay 60 bucks on one of those "out of the blue" games

  • I bought a game a few months back it got great reviews (Apparently) payed $90 AU and it turns out it was a peice of shit and not worth my time or money.

  • I walked into my nearest game store, there was no decent games for less then $90 then people wonder why people are turning to piracy. And most games these days will entertain you for what 5 hours until the game ends. Its just not worth it.

  • 30$ at most unless it's a triple a rpg or fps

  • I always do it illegally by downloadin a torrent and burnin a DVD.

  • At here nobody sells games. Burning games for free is legal here and 1 DVD costs about 1.3 bucks in USD.

  • Those gay gamemakers know that their games have limited lifetime. Therefore they uses the main nerds whos willing to buy them at full price at the release. Games drops in price so quick that 20$ would be to less. Its not like movies which have the same price for ages. I never buy new released games because of the high price. Im not THAT much of a nerd.

  • in malaysia cost 300 bucks per game about 150usd!!

  • In australia all brand new games cost $120, absolutely overpriced as hell!!!!

  • But as always, the industry will continue to push costs up using piracy as an excuse. Did you know that some statistics show that many pirates pirate more than software than their annual income? Yet the industry includes these prices in their highly inflated piracy stats.

I'm not condoning piracy, not at all. But let's stop using piracy as an excuse for horribly overpriced games.

  • Arr matey, I just payeth sum bandwidth for me plunder!

  • It depends on the quality of the game. if its a crappy game i don't wanna pay for it. if it's too buggy and the developers doesn't fix em *COUGH* NTW *COUGH* i don't feel like i get what i payed for, and once you have taken the game out of the packaging, you can't return it. which mean i will not pay for a game from the same developer agian because they screwed me over. But a game like CS, or COD4, is 100% worth it.

In general games from Valve er worth the money - they listen to the community.

  • I only buy good games :P that DESERVE it

  • Games are too expensive, if they were cheaper they wouldn't get pirated so badly.

  • send this to treyarch ....

  • not many games you get from torrents work online

  • I believe in a full trial of games - borrow it off a mate or something an buy it if you like it! I've seen complaints about bad games and believe that piracy is the reason behind all that.

  • Nice vid, In Australia gamer got for about 100 - 120 crazy eh? steam/valve is legendary could not survive without!

  • lately I wait for the game to go down in price. I use to preorder everything....not anymore cause this games are desapointing lately

  • from amazon and other uk websites i usually don't pay more than 20, that's absolute max. and with new games the max is 40 euros for me. Usually i buy bit older games like crysis and crysis warhead for example about 7 euros each.

  • 50$ and under

  • 2 euros works for me

  • Depends like i payed 36 euro for MW2 but then i though omg what a waste.

Then a month later i buyed BFBC2 for 16 euro, and i though omg this is the best buy ever :).

  • i ussualy buy games later when price drops or more i even download them but i got mass effect 2 for 8 euro in hmv witch is about 10 bucks

  • Never more than 60€.

It also depends on where you live and how much people earn in your country.

  • I buy games anyway, but i know its a fucking waste cause we pay 110 dollars for a new game in norway -.-

    Good Video, nice subject. :D

  • well here in Australia we pay $120 for brand new games and mw2 is still at $110 so thats what like $80 american and any game under $80 is a bargain for us over here lol so dont feel like your getting ripped off to much

  • rdr.

  • i will buy resident evil 6 for 300 $ and more if depends

  • what im willing to pay on a game is $30 to $40

  • what im willing to pay depends on the game. $60 seems to be the max, with the exception of some mmos(monthly pay). if the mmo is good, i.e. WoW, then i find it worth the fee.

  • My country kinda sucks because Assassin's Creed 2 for example is 120 euros which is about 160$+, maybe more, so yea and i have to buy em :P......

  • $40 USD

  • $30 to $40 (AUD) max. Unfortunately in Australia you can expect to pay at least $100 for a new release, often climbing to $130-$140.

I'm happy to support development by buying my games, but unfortunately it comes down to greedy companies trying to rip people off.

On the other hand you've got people all over the world that are happy to seed torrents for free to others. As the cost of games increase, it becomes pretty obvious which path to choose.

  • i remember when you bought a game, you got the WHOLE game and free updates, now days you have to pay for DLC and other bullshit. id happily pay for any valve game, EA on the other hand are crooks, their DRM is bullshit AND they do DLC

  • The game companies I respect - I'll pay for them.

For selfish companies, that still throw out some decent games now and then - torrents. *cough* EA *cough*

  • I would never buy an original game in my country because they cost 100-150 $.

  • Depends on the 'Awesomeness' of the game...

If it's Bad Company , it's worth my money ...

Modern Warfare 2 is not much...

  • The most I would spend is £40 - unsure how much this would be in dollars

  • @macast21 $59.07

  • i suppose this video is referring to mw2

  • 30$ in the high end.

  • 40$ if its only on a console(not wii i has emulator). then i normally get games off the internet. (steam).

  • steam is fucking expensive..

  • I remember spending 65 uk pounds on goldeneye n64

  • The most I will pay for 1 game is $59.99

  • @Mewzyc that is the definite limit and it would only go for a game that i realy realy whant, o actualy payed 49,99 for Cod4 and i was realy disapointed, but for mw2.. i cant remember what i payed but it was ok

  • For me I would normally pay $40 max.

  • $50 for a really good games that deserves it but i think $40 it's more than enough for most games at least for digital distribution

  • I'm willing to pay up to $4,000 if it's a very VERY good game. I have a bad ass computer, so I hate shitty ass games.I have very high standards and I only go with the best. Anything less is unacceptable.

  • Douche bag.

  • Free is always better....30 is a good price for games though...most games arent worth any more than that...for instance Mwf2 is nowhere near worth 60 bucks.

  • no more then £30! but that has to be a good game

  • free or

50 dollar max for games i want for the online support

  • If it's a really good game, $75. However, for Episode 3, I'd pay tops $200-$250 assuming it's a collector's edition. But otherwise, tops I'll pay is $50 or $60.

  • hmmm about 60 if it's a really awesome mmo. non-mmos 30-40 max. monthly fee 20,- max

  • 30 max. I hate waiting

  • 40 bucks max.

i usually only get 60 dollar games for my birthday or christmas

  • well i cudnt buy original pc games in my country, so i have to download them.

i really wud want them to buy them enjoy the full feature!! wot to do?

  • I download almost all of my singleplayer games illegally, but I will not pay console price ($60) on any pc games, I spent $50 on BF:BC2 and L4D2, $40 on WoW, $20 on CSS, seems like an ok price for great games like that

  • yes excellent price 20 to 30 but it will never happen because of the demand for high end gaming I believe with the economy people are putting more money into things that you might stay at home and do rather than pay for a vacation.

  • Free.

lol jk i usually buy games after they've been out for a while cus obviously they're much cheaper, only game i would ever pay $50 for would be Warcraft 4 rts game, but from the looks of it its never gonna happen

  • €30,- The games NEED to be almost flawless in any way before I buy one. So mostly when it's beta-tested very well and I like the game, I'll buy it. I don't want to get ripped off, because the game wouldn't even START on my pc ffs.

  • €30-€45 for pc games, €40-€60 for console games.. I sometimes buy console games 2nd hand.

  • the only games i dont download from torrents are valve games

  • @alampandatennisrack: Valve games are awesome and cheap.

  • @alampandatennisrack true, the steam platform is awsome

  • @alampandatennisrack that is the reason red dead redepmption and fable 2 havent came out for pc...

  • @rreewwad those suck anywayz

  • @alampandatennisrack my point is at some time I doubt they will make any games for pc, whats the point if you dont make money?

  • @rreewwad

No, they will just go to ingame advertising. Battlefield 2142 is a prime example, having "Intel" bill boards around every map.

  • @alampandatennisrack I'm the same, but for Bethesada. Love their games. I will download the newest one thats coming out, but I could NEVER not buy it. I will buy it later on down the road. When the price is reasonable. Thats how much I love their games, I will buy a game that is 100% the same as the one I got free, just to know I supported them. I want to play fallout 23 someday and tes 42.

  • @alampandatennisrack what a bout dice? they favor pc

  • usually go for bundle offer 50$ max

  • I couldnt agree more with you Rodney, they wonder why some people on lower incomes download games etc illegally. They are claiming poverty because of piracy, but they are still making millions. If they lowered the price of things a little then everyone would be happy. Their net profit would probably increase overall and people would get a legit product at a reasonable price. One of the most recent annoyances on price has been Windows 7... Ubuntu is free and its every bit as good!!!

  • i ,play world of warcraft only so i dont care, just 15$ a month which is less than what i spend on a t shirt and i get hours upon hours of gaming! woot!

  • Never bought a game before, but if I ever did, I would pay 60$ max..

  • i buy all of my games. and the most i'm willing to pay is 50€

  • I believe $40 seems pretty reasonable for a game like mw2 rather than a ridiculous $70, although I live in Italy, and my dad bought it in the UK for £38.39 at a no tax area at an airport on his way back, £38 roughly translates to $45, seeing that the economic status in the UK is bad and the sterling is very weak.

  • 60 dollars for a brand new game seems a little ridiculous to me. Granted, I've paid for many games when they just came out, but I still think they just take advantage to how much we are willing to pay for games we love. If agree with Rodney, if they could drop new games down to 30 bucks, everyone would be happy.

  • I won't buy CODMW2 for 60 bucks on Steam. Too overpriced! But games like Crysis 2, StarCraft 2, Portal 2, and HL2 Ep:3, Fallout New Vegas, ect, I'd gladly pay 50 bucks for. But 60? Meh.

  • But to be frank, actually I think game developers don't care much for optimization because they work together with videocard developers in order to guarantee market for PC hardware and next gen consoles. None game engine use the maximum processing capabilities of the system it was made for. If they did, today we still would be using Dreamcast instead of PS2, Xbox instead of Xbox 360. "Just make a console with a big powersource and connect a videocard in the future to play in HD!"

  • Here in Brazil PC games cost $100 reals, and they are not taxed like the - imported - console games wich cost about $200. The only original game I have is HL2 (because it came packed with CSS). I download pirate games cuz modern games aren't advanced enough. See Crysis for example, OK graphics, but to play with maximum resolution no matter what videocard you use, it's always under 60fps. So when game developers start dedicating more time for optimization, then maybe I'll pay what they want!

  • i thing it is a good prise 20-40 $ but free is the best, but if you get something free it will not give the same performance,, or what do you think ?

  • Between £25-£30 never anymore....

Althoguh I did just buy Battlefield Bad Company 2 at £35.

However if games were £24.99 or £25 I'd buy MORE games

  • 20-30.... or 30-40 i would buy them.... shame that right now xbox games costs 50-60 :/

i modded an xbox for 15 dlr.. do the math

  • PC games...

    Single player - $39

    MMO - $29 and $10 a month

Digital downloads should be at least $20 cheaper than retail.

  • If the multiplayer is good then I'll buy the original, just single player pirate all the way. New PC games in EU are 45€ that's 60$.

  • $20 - $30 would be great!

I'm european, so looking on a game that costs $60 I can see the price becoming €60!!

    Absolutely unreachable!!! :@

  • I download them for free.

  • 60$ is too much for a game. That's why I usually just wait for the prices to drop. I agree with rodney 30$ is reasonable enough.

  • I buy my games on second hand market, that makes a 20E fine, that's pretty affordable.

  • i dwnload them for free

  • games these days are not even worth downloading...they suck and are boring. same old thing again and again. graphics has gotten better, but the games themselves still suck. people these days get games just to see the graphics or in the case of pc gamers, to show off the power of their rig to their friends.

  • i would pay about 30€ so 45$

  • i live in Europe Germany so every new game ( not older than 1 year ) costs 50€ - 70 us dollar :( that sucks. a good price for a pc game would be 29.99€ i think ? >.>

  • I'm with Rodney, 20-30$ sounds reasonable

    and affordable

  • I definitely agree.

But the maximum price I'd probably be willing to pay for a game would be about 30 Euros, which would be about 40 USD.

However, only when that's a brand new game just released, so speaking of a price at its prime.

A more acceptable price for any game to just buy any day would be under that prime price of course.

I'd also say about 20-30 Dollars.

I also have to say, not every game has the same value as in gameplay and replayability either.

    But yeah...

  • I wish all games cost around $20-$30, that way more consumers are willing to buy. In fact, demand just goes along the curve based on Macroeconomics.

  • Goal is to make consumers be satisfied when they purchase any products such as computers, video games, pc games, tv, etc.

  • $30

  • I will pay 60 if I really really want the game. but around $35 for a good game. and then a game like sims 3 maybe 20 and a game like roller coaster tycoon like $10 because I wouldnt really feel guilty because its roller coaster tycoon

  • 0 to 30 $

  • £20 or so for a premium title is fair. Cannot fathom why Game expect PC gamers to shell out £34.99 for a new release game when you can usually get it for £10 less online. There needs to be more high street retail competition. One behemoth owning EVERYTHING in the high street is single-handedly killing PC high street sales. These days I'm happy to wait for budget label releases.

  • 20$

  • i play wow i spent like near 1grand on the game total and ive seen people spend alot more

  • I have the same opinion as you

  • 40€ if it's a very high quality game, but for "good" quality games I only pay 30€ max.

  • 10$ max. Seriously.

  • Nobody can beat Steam's discounts. What a major STEAL. nearly 10 games for almost $20 Unreal deal pack, STALKER, and Killing Floor

  • 30euro

  • $40 bucks or less. anything above that is greed.

  • I'm with yeah, $20 to $30 is fair, any more then that and they are just trying to squeeze as much money out of you as they can.

  • I couldn't agree more, $20-$30 per a game is an awesome price for a good game.

  • Buy a new game 40$, for me that's fine, but more I hate it. I bought mw2 50$+tax or close of it and what you have, dvd case, instruction and the video game. One thing I like from PC game its exemple, the style of Bioshock case or WoW. Otherwise they don't seem care about the product. So here its 40$ XD.

  • well i buy games , but the good game that are avible are very expensive. i only 40 to 50 dollars max.

  • 40 dollars at most. I hate how public retailers increase the price of PC games when normally, they should be 10 or 15 dollars less than a console version. It would be awesome if all games were 30-40 bucks at most.

  • I agree with your price, but I actually think games should be priced based on rating, and replay value. Meaning that games like Oblivion, CoD 4, Halo, GTA IV (all games which gave me months of re-play value), should be priced higher than games which can be finished quickly. I once spent 54 dollars (4 dollars from tax) on a game called Product # 3. This game can easily be beaten within 2 hours, and has a max replay value of 6 hours. That game should have costed 10-20 bucks.

  • $20-$30...$40 max, I agree with laynix $60 is RIDICULOUS

  • $50.

  • Stop Smoking

    Stop Drinking

Stop Wasting your money on useless crap

oh wow look at you , you suddenly have extra 100-200 Euros a month

Supricing to see people whine about cost of games while they spend their money to something stupid as smoking.

For your information, those of you who smoke cigartes

its stupid and not cool and waste of money

  • @epicwarding

    rage much ??

maybe just maybe its a personal choice and nothing to do with you, just maybe

  • Here's an idea:

Stop bitching about what other people like to spend their money on.

Everyone has a right to do what ever they want to with their hard earned cash.

  • your an idiot and miss the whole point of this poll. stupid space cadet. only one bitching and whining here is you!. the rest are answering the poll question u dumb assed fool, now go troll somewhere else.

  • I usually download games, and if I like them and want to play online I buy them. I rarely buy single player games. If it weren't for economic problems perhaps I would. But for now, I only buy games with online capability. BFBC2 is definitely a buy for me, doesn't matter that the price tag is 50€. Supreme commander 2 I must download and check out first, cause from the demo it looks like they have fucked the series up big time. It's just main stream RTS now, but who knows, maybe I'll buy it.

  • I'm not willing to spend any money for a game..

In Bulgaria jobs are cheap, games are expensive, so I download my games..

If they we're cheaper i would of bought them.

  • $20-30 would be great Rodney, but I would even be happy with $40. $60+ for games these days is just too much, especially when a lot have their prices lowered sometimes in only a few months. It's basically just telling the consumer to wait.

  • JESUS, in australia games sell for over $100

  • 10 bucks

  • max £25

  • Yes, games have gotten way too expensive. It's the greedy publishers that are killing PC gaming by raising prices, adding nasty DRM and making less original content. The incentives to pirate games seems to get stronger by the year.

  • Game prices are way too high , new realeases used to be 50-60 now they 100+

  • i pay older games for like 25 € a perfect price and a verry new game is like 50 € if it is higher than i might but it but than it is like wtf so much

  • Max $30 !

  • if a game is good i am willing to pay 100$ if it's just a normal game, like mw2 and BFBC2 i would only pay 50$

  • 30 EURO MAX!

  • The prices for games must be raised for the next couple of years up to 80 euros according to activision and some other game companies.

  • 0 i download them i got bioshock 2 even before it came out and finished it the day it came out so ha>!

  • 3.99 steam mega deals are best i buy ten of them for every full price game

  • I agree with Rodney, $20-$30 is a reasonable price. I would pay even $50 (max) but only for a game like COD4MW or COD6MW2. However every game should be $20-$30.

  • Most of the time i download a illegal torrent but when i like it for example arma 2 but on games like battlefield bad company 2 i know its gonna be good so iam more then wiling to pay the 40 euros.

  • 40s usually.... but games like Battlefield Bad Company 2, o man 60 is worth it

  • A game such as TF2 is well worth the current price. As are all addictive indie/casual games such as machinarium, these are cheap and extremely enjoyable. I recently bought anno 1404 for top dollar on steam, and I'm fine paying that sort of price which is £30ish because its extremely well built and contains hours of gameplay. I believe a lot of new console titles are a little overpriced though.

  • why don't you a poll where u ask how much we are willing to pay for a grphics card

  • Like most ppl here, I also am okay with $20-$30, rarely will I pay more than that. I believe $60 is too much.

  • i agree with you rodney. 30$ would be a fair price for a game

  • 30 euros

  • 20 euros

  • 20 for TF2. only TF2 the rest i will not pay for

  • 60 euros top!

  • £60.

  • 50 $ max

  • $30 would be a sweet deal. Of course, it would depend on which game it is, but max price $30.

I still don't get why game makers sell them at $60+. The more expensive the game, the more they make people pirate the game.

  • it depends for which console...

PC Games... 500 Sek i can pay that if it is a game i have been waiting for like StarCraft 2 (69.2 US)

PS3 Games... here i can buy up to 800 Sek(111.73 US) if it is limited editions ONLY but if not then 400 SEK (55.87 US) maybe (also depends on the game)

  • I think its a bit retarded that most people are willing to pay $1500+ on their fancy gamer machine but are not willing to pay more then $20-30 on a equally Impressive game taking up years of development and thousands of programmers. Most of them will buy a game at lower price with monthly fee on a game like WoW ($20-$40+$13-$15/month=$176-$220=1 year of gaming.)

I am willing to pay the what now seems standard $60 for quality game knowing that I will get hundreds of hours of fun out of it.

  • I usually just wait for steam weekend deals and grab whatever is up, it's usually below 30$ and is usually a good game.

  • I usually test it out with torrent and if I like it I buy it, I usually get my games through steam...

  • i only buy games, when its a online game like MW2, normally i download

  • $20 To $30 at max :)

  • I am willing to pay $60 for a good quality game like Mass Effect 2/Dragon Age: Origins/Bioshock 2.

However I am waiting for the day when we all digitally download everything and cut out the retailers and games will cost $40 or less.

  • 30 Dollars... not a cent more :)

  • I think that 10-20euro is all I'd pay for a game. I can't believe some shops have the nerve to charge over 60! That's why I download all my games..... if they cut the price, the game developers would be doing themselves a favour as many people like me would start buying them.

  • I think $20-30 is pefect as well for normal games... especially PC games that you just download nowadays should just be marketed around $20... the only game i would spend over $60 is Starcraft II because i want it!!!!

  • 50$ Should be max. Over that is just ridiculous.

  • In Sweden, new games for the PS3 or the Xbox360 costs about $90. But I think that up to $50 is a fair price.

  • i liked last gen games when they usually were 40 bucks, 50 if it was like a hit or really good. Now games are 60...stupid. 30 bucks is perfect. I pretty much wont buy a game above 40 bucks unless its like MW2 or something...

  • $20-$30 is perfect

  • Nothing over $100 AU, a fair price would be anything under $60 AU

  • $50 should be the max

  • have you guys seen the price of Modern Warfare 2 on steam? It's laughable.

  • games $30-$40 is the most i hate these people charging $60 because is the NEW PLAYSTATION 3 game or THE NEW XBOX 360 ZOMFG so awesome....................... im mean these marketing assholes need to grow up and put them at a reasonable price

  • $30-40 for me, $50 is just too much and activision charging $60 for PC games now is absolute BS.

  • Blizzard games or nice titles I would pay around 50.

Even then, It would be a once a year thing.

  • In Australia new release games are $87.

A fair price is between $20 - $40 for higher end games.

  • games in australia are like $70+ it sucks :(

  • i think 40 bucks for a high quality well done game is good. And $20-35 for everything else....
