Why didn't the Chinese die? Because they were there in China 6000 years ago, and never went away. It's no coincidence. It's simply that the rise of greater cooperation within tribes, development of language, rise of agriculture etc coinceded with the last stages of the Ice Age. Off course there were floods. There was never one huge global flood off course... But almost ever civilisation has its flood story. Just like a lot of civilisations have their volcano and earth quake story. Today, these aren't all that impressive anymore since we know what they are... in those days though...

It's not just Christians. Hebrew legends, Babylonian (Gilgamesh Epic), Egyptian, Chinese, etc.

Extinct animals such as the Wooly Mammoth have been consistently found when intact with vegitation in their mouth and to have died suddenly in flood like situations and to have been frozen quickly. That is just one example. There is the mid-atlantic rift in the middle of the atlantic ocean that many point to as a consequence of a possible asteroid impact and release of flood waters.

The Egyptian, Chinese & Aztec civilizations began after the flood and where just a continuation of sorts of the pre-flood civilazation mixed with Babylonian pagan beliefs as the Sumerian civilization was the first major one after the flood. The proof is in the pudding. All these civilizations have distorted accounts of the original flood story. The ark was about 100 years or so in the making. Sufficient time to store food and figure out problems such as manure, etc.

The problem is still the same if you have a different earth. however if there was no water at all on the earth why not! I believe with physical aspect, and water in a glass does not disappear in 3 sec it self. If you increase the volume of water by billion fo billion m3 , you can't think that disappear in few weeks especially if the entire Earth is below thousand meters of water (because arch is supposed to be on mountain). Ok, this is what I figured out so far, I hope! You're saying the eath is not like a tub where you can pull hte plug & the water goes down rapidly. You think a huge regional flood, such as seen in our own time, is more reasonalbe. You are going by the belief in uniformity, i.e. the world was as it is today, & so should be expected to "behave" as the world today. Scriptures dont' say things were the same, au contraire.
